RACE 1 (R1056) CLASS 5 (B) – 1200m(lc) – GOLDEN HAHNII HANDICAP
FINANCIAL WIZARD and ARCHAELOGY, both course scratching as they had both sustained a bruised off fore fetlock, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
CASPER (J Mallyon) was slow into stride.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of VALBERRY as to why he raced wide throughout the race. He explained that from a wide barrier, VALBERRY had been caught wide on the first turn and then laid out. The Panel of Stewards considered Jockey Z Khairil’s explanations, however advised him that in future, he should ride all his mounts out in a manner so as to leave no room for query and to endeavour to save ground in races whenever possible. A post-race veterinary examination of VALBERRY revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of REWARDING SMILE (M Yusri), HANDSOME BOSS (App I Firdzriel) and CHAMPAGNE ROSE (App CK Khaw) revealed no obvious abnormality. THONG’S JIAQING (S Anandan) returned with respiratory distress and D’GREAT WORLD (App S Rosmizan) returned lame near fore. Both these horses will each be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.

RACE 2 (R1057) CLASS 5 (A) – 1200m(lc) – ZEYLONICA HANDICAP
HAPPY VALLEY, LUCKY COIN and SUPER GOOD, all course scratching as they had sustained bruised right knee, bruised off fore sole and bruised both fore fetlocks respective, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Acting on veterinary advice that THE THINKER (Z Khairil) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 1.43pm. THE THINKER will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
DELTA WING (App KC Wong) had to be steadied shortly after the start when GREAT GERONIMO (HS Gill) shifted in.
Jockey S Sandana, the rider of BAIL OUT reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of BAIL OUT revealed that the gelding returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of PEACH BOWL (J Chuah) and FULL MEANING (Lou Ho) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Jockey SS Vanan, the rider of MISS BLANCHETT as to why he raced wide throughout the race from a wide barrier. He explained that he was taken wider by DELTA WING and was unable to get cover until entering the straight. The Panel of Stewards noted his explanations and advised him that he should cover less ground in future. A post-race veterinary examination of MISS BLANCHETT revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BLAZING STEED (App WK Lee) had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a Bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

RACE 3 (R1058) CLASS 4 (B) – 1200m(lc) – SILVER LAURENTII HANDICAP
SONNY BILL which was up 29kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
DROGBA (HK Cheng) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.
DROGBA was slow to begin.
RAJA MAHKOTA (S Anandan) jumped away awkwardly.
HORSE WARRIOR (M Yusri) was slow into stride.
GREEN MISSILE (J Chuah) shifted in racing to the 1100M, resulting in BIG BIT COIN (M Zairi) shifting away from that gelding and as a consequence, THE DODGER (Lou Ho) had to be steadied and lost its position. Jockeys J Chuah and M Zairi were both shown the vision of the incident and were both advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.
VICTORY CAT (J Low) shifted out approaching the 800M and bumped THE DODGER and was forced wider from the 700M until entering the straight.
SUPER HARD (S Sandana) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of GREEN MISSILE racing to the 100M, when GREEN MISSILE was racing very greenly and made several awkward strides.
JOYFUL (App CK Khaw) was unable to obtain a clear running for the last 50M when being held up behind STIRLING (SS Vanan) and SUPER HARD.
Jockey HK Cheng and App KC Wong, the riders of DROGBA and COMMON SENSE respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examination of DROGBA revealed that the gelding had returned lame off ore and as such, DROGBA will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of GREEN MISSILE and VICTORY CAT revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BIG BIT COIN had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a Bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer S Cook, the trainer of COMMON SENSE as to the gelding’s performance today. App KC Wong, the rider of COMMON SENSE reported to him that during the race, he did not feel comfortable in its actions and he could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race veterinary examination of COMMON SENSE revealed no obvious abnormality. Trainer S Cook was advised that if he finds something amiss with the gelding during the week, he must report back to the Panel of Stewards.

RACE 4 (R1059) CLASS 5 (A) – 1200m(lc) – BLACK & GOLD HANDICAP
CENTURY WORLD and MAGICAL TEN which was up 18kgs and 15kgs respectively in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
CENTURY WORLD (S Sandana) which stood and lost considerable ground, will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.
RA FORCE (Z Khairil) reared when the gates were released and lost ground.
VALERIUS (Lou Ho) jumped away awkwardly.
MR NO PROBLEM (J Low) shifted in racing to the 800M, resulting in ASPREY (App I Firdzriel) being tightened for room onto KEEPITCONFIDENTIAL (App CK Khaw) which had to be checked.
MR NO PROBLEM shifted out racing inside the 400M, resulting in BLACK IS POWER (HK Cheng) having to be checked to avoid MR NO PROBLEM’s heels.
Jockey SS Vanan, the rider of SPARKLER reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SPARKLER revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of EVIL TRAIN (CK Tan), TRIPLE COIN (M Zairi), BLACK IS POWER and KEEPITCONFIDENTIAL revealed no obvious abnormality and CENTURY WORLD returned broken-winded. As such, CENTURY WORLD will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey J Chuah, the rider of MAGICAL TEN pleaded guilty to a charge for careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding MAGICAL TEN at about the 1100M, he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of MR NO PROBLEM, resulting in MR NO PROBLEM being taken in onto ASPREY which had to be steadied inwards, resulting in SPARKLER (SS Vanan) having to check.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey J Chuah’s guilty plea and mitigating factors. Jockey J Chuah was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days. As he is licensed to ride at PNTC/PRTC, his suspension will commence on Sunday, 16th September 2018 and to expire on Saturday, 22nd September 2018, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his right of appeal (4.15pm).
At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey J Low, the rider of MR NO PROBLEM pleaded guilty to a charge for careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding MR NO PROBLEM at about the 400M, he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of BLACK IS POWER, resulting in that gelding being checked and lost ground.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey J Low’s guilty plea and mitigating factors. RACE 5 (R1060) CLASS 5 (B) – 1600m (lc) – JADE HANDICAP
The Panel of Stewards questioned Jockey R Rueven, the rider of NAPOLEON as to the gelding’s poor start and lost ground at the jump. Jockey R Rueven stated that NAPOLEON was very fractious in the barrier and when the gates were released, threw its head to the right and struck the barrier. As a consequence, he was slow into stride and was reluctant to race in the early stages. The Panel of Stewards reviewed the vision of the start and were satisfied with Jockey R Rueven’s explanations and that was the reason he got so far back in the race. A post-race veterinary examination of NAPOLEON revealed no obvious abnormality.
SUPERB SEVEN (J Mallyon) and MAYWEATHER (S Anandan) which both raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SUCCESSION (HS Gill), MAYWEATHER and LEAP OF FAITH (App KC Wong) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards opened an inquiry into App S Hafis’s use of the whip on FASTNET STAR and adjourned the inquiry to a date to be fixed for his master Trainer I.Ismadi to attend.

RACE 6 (R1061) CLASS 5 (A) – 1600m (lc) – SUNRISE HANDICAP
Acting on veterinary advices that GRAND SHOW (Z Khairil) and NATURE IS NATURE (M Yusri) were both lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of these geldings at 3.42pm and 3.43pm respectively. GRAND SHOW and NATURE IS NATURE will each be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
The Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of GET THE LOTSKI (App KC Wong) at 3.44pm acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was exhibiting signs of abnormal behavior. GET THE LOTSKI was impounded.
SING ENERGY (HS Gill) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.
JETSTAR EAGLE (Lou Ho) was slow to begin
RAMZES (S Anandan) was slow to begin and showed no early pace, despite being urged.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SING ENERGY and FLYING AHEAD (A Aucharuz) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Acting on veterinary advice that GREAT SCOTT (App J Daniel) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 4.05pm. GREAT SCOTT will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of NAZIR (R Rueven), MR PAULANDRE (Z Khairil) and DAVINCI (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 9 (R1064) CLASS 4 (A) – 1200m (sc) – TWIST HANDICAP
HELLO SAYANG, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised left knee, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
KEEN DRAGON which was up 25kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
A post-race veterinary examination of GOLDEN KINGDOM (F Yap) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by App J Daniel, the rider of PLATINUM LIFE placed 2nd horse against CROWN STAR (App CK Khaw) being declared the winner on grounds of alleged interference at the concluding stages.
After considering all the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had affected the result of the race. The objection was upheld and the Judges’ placings were amended.
App CK Khaw, the rider of CROWN STAR in the presence of his acting master, Trainer KF Coetzee was shown the vision of the incident and was advised that he should stop and straighten his mount under similar circumstances in future.

RACE 10 (R1065) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400m (sc) – STARLIGHT HANDICAP
MAXIM DRAGON, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near hind cannon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
BATTLE PLAN (App J Daniel) and SOON YOU THINK (M Yusri) were both slow to begin.
MARIO ATTILA (A Aucharuz) raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages of the race.
MARIO ATTILA raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.
D’GREAT EASY (J Low) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of MANMADHAN reported that his mount was not striding out freely.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MANMADHAN (Z Khairil) and HANDSOME BAB (HK Cheng) revealed no obvious abnormality.
An inquiry into the incident at the 1300M was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

RACE 11 (R1066) CLASS 5 (A) – 1400m (sc) – DWARF LAURENTII HANDICAP
Acting on veterinary advice that DIRAC (Lou Ho) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of DIRAC at 6.28pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
ONE O NINE jumped away awkwardly and got its head down, causing Jockey J Low to be dislodged.
RAJA MAHESA (App CK Khaw) jumped away awkwardly and got its head up.
I’M A GENIUS (M Yusri) jumped away awkwardly outwards, resulting in LUCKY GIANT (Y Aify) to be checked.
RUSH (J Mallyon) was checked shortly after the start to avoid the heels of LUCKY GIANT.
LUCKY GIANT had to be checked to avoid the heels of the riderless ONE O NINE at the 1200M. Shortly thereafter, D’GREAT LUCK (App KC Wong) had to be steadied to avoid its heels.
The saddle on D’GREAT LUCK slipped forward racing to the 1200M, resulting in App KC Wong being placed at a disadvantage and had to ease the horse out of the straight. The Panel of Stewards examined his gear and were satisfied that it was in satisfactory condition.
RUSH which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey R Rueven, the rider of LUCK HAPPY placed 2nd horse against EMPIRE BAY (SS Vanan) being declared the winner on grounds of alleged interference at the final 100M.
After considering all the evidence and viewing the films, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference did not affect the results of the race. The objection was overruled and the Judges’ placings stood.
Jockey SS Vanan, the rider EMPIRE BAY was shown the vision of the incident and was advised to exercise greater care under similar circumstances in future.
Jockey J Low was examined by the Club Medical Officer and was certified fit.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer Peter Lee, the trainer of EMPIRE BAY as to the improved performance of EMPIRE BAY today. He stated that the gelding had been working well and he could offer no further explanation.

GENERAL REPORT
Trainer Evert van Breukelen was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 39(1)(e) for permitting Mr. Kalidasan A/L M.Kanason (NRIC number 810616-08-6215) to be in his stable in Block 8A on 24th August 2018 at 3.00pm when Mr. Kalidasan was not in possession of a valid MRA Pass during a routine Stipendiary Stewards’ Inspection.
