RACE 1 (R915) CLASS 4(A) – 1600M
THE JEWELLER which was down 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
RAGNAR (App I Firdzriel) was slow to begin.
D’GREAT CHANCE (AM Aizat) over-raced in the middle stages of the race.
App I Firdzriel, the rider of RAGNAR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 3 (R917) CLASS 5(B) – 1400M
Emergency acceptors, ALWRICH and BAYMAX were both withdrawn due to a capacity field.
Jockey M Yusri was permitted to replace Jockey J Daniel as the rider of ONE O NINE when the latter was stood down by order of the Stewards.
Trainer B Ng was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours for RAISE ME UP (App S Rosmizan).
RAISE ME UP and MR RIGHT (App CT Lee) both jumped away awkwardly.
KING WARRIOR (S Anandan) lost the use of its off side iron on jumping away and was slow to begin.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of MAYWEATHER and Jockey S Muniandy, the rider of GRAND SHOW reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of both geldings revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Stewards questioned Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of OVERSEER into his ride on the mare. He stated that his instructions were to jump and sit where comfortable. He further stated that from the 600M, he commenced to push forward but OVERSEER failed to respond and from the 400M when he used the whip, the mare again failed to respond to his riding. The Stewards also questioned Trainer S Hamilton, the trainer of OVERSEER. She confirmed her instructions and stated that she was of the opinion that the mare was not suited by the distance of today’s race. The explanations of Jockey Z Khairil and Trainer S Hamilton were noted.

RACE 4 (R918) CLASS 3 – 1300M
STAR GENIUS and SECRET WIN, both course scratching as they were sore right shoulder and had cellulitis off fore cannon respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
ALCATRAZ (App YY Oon) was slow to begin.
THE DODGER (CK Tan) jumped away awkwardly and was very slow to begin.
MASTER JIANGMEN (App S Hafis) was slow into stride.
A post-race veterinary examination of MAGIC CITY (App I Firdzriel) revealed that the gelding returned with a cut into its near hind.
Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of DAZZLING SPEED and Jockey R Rueven, the rider of PULAU PINANG reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of both geldings revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 5 (R919) CLASS 4 (A) – 1200M
SUNNY STAR, a course scratching as it had sustained a stone bruise off fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
FIERY SHINZO (Z Khairil) reared when the gates were released.
HARLEY FLAME (App S Rosmizan) had to steady racing to the 900M to avoid the heels of FORSA ECLIPSE (App M Akmazani).
HUN YEANG ROAD (App A Najib) was tightened for room and became unbalanced racing to the 800M when FORSA ECLIPSE rolled inwards.
SUNNY FIGHTER (App S Hafis) had to check to avoid the heels of HUN YEANG ROAD at about the 200M and shifted outwards for clear running.

The State of Track was upgraded to “Yielding” after the running of this race.
RACE 6 (R920) CLASS 4(B) – 1200M
LADY LAKSHMI and CHIEF CLERK, both course scratching as they were bruised off fore fetlock and had abscess left side of mouth respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
ACE’S WILD and SO ON which were up 30kgs and 15kgs in body weight respectively since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
The Stewards permitted Jockey HK Cheng to replace Jockey J Daniel as the rider of SANGKURIANG.
CITY OF DREAM (R Rueven) was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to race.
MODRIC (App YY Oon) and ZAC ACE (App A Saran) both jumped away awkwardly.
KRATOS (KC Wong) and HALLELUJAH (App I Firdzriel) were both slow to begin.
ACE’S WILD (App S Rosmizan) had to be steadied racing to the 1100M when tightened for room by FUNKADELIC (S Salee). Jockey S Salee was shown the vision of the incident and advised to exercise greater care under similar circumstances in future.
SO ON (SS Vanan) had to steady passing the 1000M to avoid the heels of STAGESHOW (App S Hafis) which was taken in by FUNKADELIC.
App S Saddam, the rider of PURPLE RAIN LADY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare returned with epiglottis entrapment and as such, will be required to undergo corrective surgery and thereafter pass a test (1000M/vet examination) before being declared to race again.

MBAPPE which was up 20kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
TILSWORTH MICK (App A Najib) jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped GENERAL NIX (App S Hafis) which lost its position.
A post-race veterinary examination of GENERAL NIX revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 8 (R922) CLASS 5(A) – 1200M
Emergency acceptor, MARTELLO was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
FRANKLY MY DEAR and I’M THE MAN which were down 23kgs and up 23kgs in body weight respectively since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
HERO KING (Z Khairil) was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to race.
MIROTIC (App R Narendran) jumped away awkwardly.
I’M THE MAN (App A Najib) was slow to begin.
TOOBIGTOFAIL (CK Tan) had to steady racing to the 800M when LEE’S STAR (App A Saran) rolled in.
App A Saran, the rider of LEE’S STAR, the third place getter, in the presence of his Employing Trainer S Hamilton, was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for dropping his whip at the 150M.
Jockey HK Cheng, the rider of LOUEY VELOCE, was shown the vision of the final 200M of the race and advised against looking around so often.

Emergency acceptor, GERMAN SPEED was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
GRIDIRON which was down 20kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
The Stewards permitted Jockey S Anandan to replace Jockey J Daniel as the rider of JUMBO STAR.
Jockey R Rueven was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 107(9) for failing to seek the Stewards’ permission within the stipulated time to ride overweight on DANE’S ANATOMY.
WILDFIRE (App S Hafis) which stood when the gates were released and lost considerable ground, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
PARISBAS (AM Aizat), GRIDIRON (App S Rosmizan) and GOLDEN EXPLORER (App I Firdzriel) were all slow to begin.
MR DREYFUSS (S Muniandy) had to steady racing to the 900M to avoid the heels of GOLDEN COIN (HK Cheng).
Post-race veterinary examinations of MR DREYFUSS and GRIDIRON revealed no obvious abnormality.

The report dated 5th November 2020 (V20/083) from the Chief Analyst of USains Biomics Laboratory stated that 27 bottles of coded urine samples and 27 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 24th October 2020 for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

The report dated 5th November 2020 (V20/084) from the Chief Analyst of USains Biomics Laboratory stated that 2 bottles of coded urine samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 24th October 2020 for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey AK Lim’s guilty plea, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days with effect from 26 October 2020 and to expire on 7 November 2020, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

The Stewards opened an inquiry into App N Varmah’s riding of TARGET in Race 8 on 25 October 2020. The inquiry was adjourned to allow App N Varmah’s Employing Trainer, Charles Leck to attend.
Mr Leck has advised the Stewards that he is unable to attend the inquiry as he is currently in Singapore and has to fulfill Covid 19 quarantine protocols upon returning to KL.
As such, the inquiry will be conducted at a later stage.

The report dated 23 October 2020 (V20/077) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 33 bottles of coded urine samples and 33 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 18 October 2020, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

The report dated 23 October 2020 (V20/078) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 2 bottles of coded urine samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 18 October 2020, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected except for sample coded “J-4179” which revealed the presence of mitragynine.
It was established that this sample was received from Jockey C Goon. Acting under the provisions of MRA Rule 136(3)(b), Jockey C Goon was stood down from riding in races / barrier trials / trackwork on 25 October 2020. An inquiry into this finding will be conducted at 2pm on Wednesday, 11 November 2020.

The report dated 29 October 2020 (V20/081) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 30 bottles of coded urine samples and 30 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 25 October 2020, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

The report dated 29 October 2020 (V20/082) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 2 bottles of coded urine samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 25 October 2020, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected except for sample coded “J-4180” which revealed the presence of mitragynine.
It was established that this sample was received from App L De Souza. Acting under the provisions of MRA Rule 136(3)(b), App L De Souza was stood down from riding in races / barrier trials / trackwork on 31 October 2020. An inquiry into this finding will be conducted at a date to be fixed.
PRE-RACE BLOOD TEST – SUNDAY, 8TH NOVEMBER 2020
PENANG TURF CLUB NOVEMBER MEETING 2020
The report dated 8th November 2020 (PNTC #V20/13) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 120 coded blood samples were received from the above-mentioned race meeting for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. All the samples were analyzed and passed the pre-race testing criteria.
