RACE 1 (MRA 1135) CLASS 4 (A) – 1100M
As there was no suitable jockey available, the Stewards permitted App P Haris to replace Jockey S Zulfikri as the rider of STARLIGHT GLIMMER as the latter was medically stood down.
STARLIGHT GLIMMER jumped awkwardly.
BATTESTAR (R Narendran) dipped on jumping.
TERMS OF REFERENCE (App SN Shiva) was slow into stride.
Passing the 300M-mark, AFTERMATH (S Saddam) drifted out.
Approaching the 100M-mark, AFTERMATH drifted out under pressure, finishing the race wide.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that STARLIGHT GLIMMER bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of TERMS OF REFERENCE revealed no obvious abnormality.
GHOST MARI (KC Tham) returned having cast its near hind plate.

SUPER HERO which was down 15kgs and MERRY BELL which was up 30kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
MERRY BELL (R Narendran) was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barrier and was passed fit to race.
SUPER HERO (App SN Shiva) jumped awkwardly.
YULONG DREAM (App P Haris) entered the home straight wide and finished the race wide.
Passing the 300M-mark, SUPER WHIRLWIND (KC Tham) drifted out under pressure.
A post-race veterinary examination of YULONG DREAM revealed no obvious abnormality.

As there was no suitable jockey available, the Stewards permitted App P Haris to replace Jockey S Zulfikri as the rider of SUN PALACE as the latter was medically stood down.
SUN PALACE jumped awkwardly.
TIME TRAVEL (R Narendran) was slow into stride.
At about the 600M-mark, TIME TRAVEL had to switch out over the heels of LEGEND OF THE SUN (App SN Shiva) for clear running.
Passing the 600M-mark, THE BOSS was eased down by its rider (KC Tham) when he felt something amissed and shortly thereafter, THE BOSS collapsed and died. A post-mortem by the Club Veterinary Surgeon revealed that the gelding died as a result of the foamy blood in the trachea caused by bleeding in both the nostrils. Jockey KC Tham was exempted from weighing-in. He was examined by the Club Medical Officer and was certified fit to continue riding for the remainder of the day.

APIS, a course scratching as it had sustained a swelling at the right side of its neck, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
As there was no suitable jockey available, the Stewards permitted App N Shahronnizam to replace Jockey S Zulfikri as the rider of WISEMAN as the latter was medically stood down.
KIM KIM (F Yap) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.
AHTIMS KLIS (S Saddam) was slow into stride.
Shortly after the start, GARUDAN (R Narendran) stumbled and ducked out, losing considerable ground. Jockey R Narendran reported that he felt something amissed with the gelding on pulling up and he dismounted.
MAVERICK (J Chuah) drifted out from the top of the straight and finished the race wide.
Passing the 200M-mark, BLUE IDOL (KC Wong) shifted out over the heels of BIG MONKEY (KC Tham) and DAYLIGHT (App P Haris) to obtain clear running.
Jockey KC Tham, the rider of BIG MONKEY, was dislodged on pulling up.
A post-race veterinary examination of GARUDAN revealed no obvious abnormality. GARUDAN which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of AHTIMS KLIS revealed that the gelding returned exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and as such will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Trainer K Coetzee was fine RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to seek the Stewards’ permission to use blinkers on SHANGANI within the stipulated time.
FIRE AWAY, a course scratching as it was bruised left hind hock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
THUNDERGOD (KC Tham) was leaning to the near side of the gate when the start was effected and jumped awkwardly.
DIAMOND PEGASUS (M Ganeesh) and KING OF GLORY (KC Wong) were slow into stride.
A post-race veterinary examination of PENANG MAN (R Narendran) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer S Hamilton was questioned regarding the reversal of form of THUNDERGOD today. She stated that the gelding had been downgraded from Class 4 to Class 5 and is racing in a weaker field today. Her explanation was noted.

PERAK DECEMBER MEETING 2024 – SATURDAY, 14th DECEMBER 2024
RACE 2 (R1109) – CLASS 5 (A) – 1600m (lc)
Jockey HK Cheng subsequently lodged a Notice of Appeal and applied for a Stay of Sentence against the four (4) months suspension and fine of RM30,000/- imposed under MRA Rule 44(10) for his ride on SUCCESS STREET in the above race. His application for a Stay of Sentence was GRANTED and the appeal proper will be held at a date to be fixed.
