MODRIC, RAISE ME UP and I AM MIDAS which were up 16kgs, 17kgs and 15kgs respectively in body weight and POWER EXPRESS which was down 16kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were all passed fit to start.
RAISE ME UP (HK Cheng) reared when the gates were released.

RACE 2 (R452) CLASS 5(A) – 1200M
AMERICAN TYCOON, a course scratching as it suffered a nail prick in the off fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Emergency acceptors GRIDIRON and GOLDEN COIN were both withdrawn due to a capacity field.
VICTORY MARCH which was up 17kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
HEART FEELING (HS Gill) was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to race.
WINTERFELL (App CK Khaw) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that D’GREAT TALENT (J De Souza) and VICTORY MARCH (CK Tan) bled and both will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
The Stewards questioned Trainer HY Cheng and Jockey J Low, the trainer and rider of AGNI respectively into the mare’s performance today. Trainer HY Cheng explained that AGNI was having its first start in Malaysia and had not raced since 6th October 2019 and his instructions were to sit midfield. Jockey J Low explained that AGNI jumped fairly and raced with its head up on several occasions in the middle stages of the race. Jockey J Low stated that he was able to sit midfield as instructed and from about the 300M when placed under the whip, AGNI ran on fairly. Their explanations were noted.

The Stewards permitted App SN Shiva to replace App P Mogun as the rider of LIMITLESS STOUT when the latter could not make the carded weight. App P Mogun was warned that a repetition may lead to action being taken against him.

EMPEROR TAIZONG, a course scratching as it had fever, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
TRIPLE ONE STAR, a course scratching as it had a bruised back, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
FIERY SHINO, JULIUS CAESAR and HENG KINGDOM which were up 30kgs, 18kgs and 15kgs respectively in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were all passed fit to start.
En route to the start, TONGARIRO injured its rider, App CK Khaw who sustained an injury to his left leg and was stood down by the Club Medical Officer. To avoid unnecessary delay, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of TONGARIRO at 3.41pm.
JULIUS CAESAR (App S Saddam) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, causing GENERAL MARSHALL (HS Gill) to be checked.
UNCHAINED MELODY (App P Haris) stood, was very slow to begin and lost considerable ground at the start. The mare will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.

NORTHERN KNIGHT, a course scratching as it was lacerated right upper eyelid, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
LIM’S PIPER which was down 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
ZAHRAT JUMEIRAH (SU Lim) refused to jump and took no part in the race. The mare will be required to serve a one-month embargo from 26th July 2020 and thereafter will be required to pass two (2) starting stall tests (at weekly intervals) before being declared to race again.

SEBASTIAN BACH and ORIENT EXPRESS, both course scratching as they had bruised wither and respiratory infection respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
ASPREY and ATLANTIC ARROW which were up 21kgs and 24kgs respectively in body weight and PROVOCATEUR which was down 19kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
DIAMOND SET (J Daniel) jumped away awkwardly.
PROVOCATEUR (KC Wong) was slow into stride.

The Stewards permitted Jockey J Chuah to replace App CK Khaw as the rider of ROOTER as there was no other suitable apprentice available.
App R Ruwaidy, the rider of FOLLOW THE WIND, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality.

GENERAL REPORT(S)
PRE-RACE BLOOD TEST – 3RD DAY, SUNDAY, 26TH JULY 2020
PENANG TURF CLUB JULY MEETING 2020
The report dated 26th July 2020 (PNTC #V20/07) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 101 coded blood samples were received from the above- mentioned race meeting for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. All the samples were analyzed and passed the pre-race testing criteria.
2ND DAY, SATURDAY, 25TH JULY 2020, PENANG JULY MEETING 2020
Following the running of Race 5 (R448) on Saturday, 25th July 2020, 2nd Day, Penang July Meeting 2020, it was reported to the Stewards that Trainer HS Lim, the trainer of GOLD SKY BILLION (S Ruzaini), the winning horse, had violated PNTC SOPs in light of the Covid-19 with respect to the number of owners present at the Winning Enclosure.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry today (26th July 2020) into the matter, Trainer HS Lim pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to comply with the PNTC SOP Circular No. T12/20 dated 13th July 2020. Trainer HS Lim was fined a sum of RM2,500/- and was informed of his Right of Appeal (1.25pm).
