RACE 1 (R610) CLASS 5(B) – 1300M
GIANT KILLING, a course scratching as it had sustained a nail prick near fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
LUCKY SIXTYSIX (K Eirwan) jumped awkwardly.
MYSTICAL STAR (App N Varmah) and PARISBAS (App R Nuqman) were both slow into stride.
At approximately the 500M-mark, HOSTWIN CHEVALIER (KC Tham) broke down in the running. In this incident, LUCKY SIXTYSIX, MYSTICAL STAR and ROBBEN (S Salee), which were following, had to take evasive action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that HOSTWIN CHEVALIER fractured its near fore fetlock and was humanely euthanized.
HALLELUJAH (KP Lim) had a tendency to lay in from the whip in the straight.
MY MONEY (App S Sia) was momentarily held up in a tightly-bunched field at approximately the 200M-mark.
The saddle on PARISBAS slipped back in the running.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that PARISBAS returned having cast its off fore plate.

RACE 2 (R611) CLASS 5(B) – 1300M
Light rain fell prior to the running of this race.
ZILFIKAR (App S Sia) reared on jumping.
HOOGA NET (KC Tham) was slow into stride.
At approximately the 800M-mark, SATELLITE GENIUS (SU Lim) became crowded and had to check when DARCI SUPER (KP Lim) shifted in.
Post-race veterinary examinations revealed that ZILFIKAR returned exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and HOOGA NET returned lame off fore. ZILFIKAR and HOOGA NET will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of PLATOON (S Ruzaini) revealed no obvious abnormality. MR DREYFUSS (App N Varmah) returned cut into off hind and will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey KP Lim, the rider of DARCI SUPER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in at approximately the 800M-mark, resulting in SATELLITE GENIUS (SU Lim) being crowded and having to check. Jockey KP Lim was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days with effect from Sunday, 22nd May 2022 and to expire on Saturday, 4th June 2022, both days inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (2.05pm).
The Stewards opened an Inquiry into the running and handling of GOLDEN SHOW. After taking evidence from Jockey CK Khaw and Trainer T Asogan, the rider and trainer of GOLDEN SHOW respectively and viewing the video, the Inquiry was adjourned to 22nd May 2022 at Perak Turf Club in order for Jockey CK Khaw to call a witness.

SACRED SURFER, a course scratching as it had a swelling on its off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
GOOD WARRIOR (KP Lim) jumped awkwardly inwards abruptly, inconveniencing MODRIC (SU Lim) and TILSWORTH MICK (S Saddam).
OUD WOOD (J Low) and SUNNY STAR (S Ruzaini) came together shortly after the start.
A post-race veterinary examination of MERCURIAL TURN (WK Lee) revealed no obvious abnormality

RACE 4 (R613) CLASS 5(A) – 1300M
ROCK ARTIST and QIJI LOVE, both course scratching as they had foot abscess off fore and ulceration right eye respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
GHAZALAH (App AR Aiman) jumped awkwardly outwards.
ONE FOR ALL (KC Wong) was slow to begin.
D’GREAT CHANCE (AM Aizat) raced wide on the turn.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that PULAU PINANG (S Saddam) returned having cast its off hind plate.
Trainer CC Ooi was questioned with regards to the improved performance of MISS MICHELLE (S Ruzaini) today as compared to its run on 23rd April 2022. The only explanation Trainer CC Ooi could offer was that this mare had a history of barrier problems. However, today, she jumped well and was able to position accordingly. This, in his opinion, accounted for the improvement. The Stewards noted his explanation, however, drew his attention to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding “in-and-out” running.

SACRED SHAM which was down 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
ECLIPSE SPLASH (AM Aizat), CHINA CAPTAIN (S Salee) and GLORIA MARIS (App Z Ahmad) were all slow into stride.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that GOLDEN TYCOON (KC Tham) returned having cast its off hind plate.
A post-race veterinary examination of GLORIA MARIS revealed no obvious abnormality
Jockey KC Wong was shown the video of his ride on LIM’S DASHING and warned that in future, he would be required to ride all his mounts in such a manner so as to leave no room for query.

RACE 6 (R615) CLASS 4(A) – 1400M
ASGARD MASSIF and KENG MAK MAK are both course scratching. ASGARD MASSIF collapsed and died in the stable and KENG MAK MAK was sore off fore foot. KENG MAK MAK will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
HONEY BOWL (K Eirwan) and SACRED SEA (CK Khaw) were both slow into stride.
CENTURY SPEED (App R Nuqman) broke down in the running at approximately the 300M-mark. In this incident, SHANGANI (App A Najib) was hampered, resulting in App A Najib being almost dislodged. A post-race veterinary examination of CENTURY SPEED revealed that the gelding fractured it near fore cannon and was subsequently euthanized humanely.
At approximately the 200M-mark, WHY NOT (App M Ruvanesh) and UNSTOPPABLE GIANT (S Salee) were inconvenienced as a result of FLYING BABY (AM Aizat) shifting out against the whip.
A post-race veterinary examination of LEGEND WAR (SU Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that FLYING BABY returned with a speedy cut to its off hind leg and would be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

RACE 7 (R616) CLASS 4(B) – 1400M
AMAZING CHOICE which was bruised near hind bumper and CHER which had colic are both course scratching. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
D’GREAT STRIKE which was up 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry, App AR Aiman, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Trainer HS Lim, was shown the video of his ride on SHENG PROISIR in the concluding stages of the race. He pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(6) for failing to ride his horse to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. In deciding on the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration his relatively inexperience and his riding record. App AR Aiman was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from Monday, 23rd May 2022 and to expire on Wednesday, 22nd June 2022, both days inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (5.10pm).

RACE 8 (R617) CLASS 5(A) – 1700M
MARCUS ANTONIUS, a course scratching as it had knocked its off fore tendon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Acting on veterinary advice that DROUGHT (S Ruzaini) was lame off fore, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 4.44pm. DROUGHT will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey CC Foo, the rider of DESTINY KNIGHT, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that DESTINY KNIGHT returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that MAGICAL PARK (SU Lim) returned having cast its near hind plate.
A post-race veterinary examination of BIG DALLAS (App R Nuqman) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Jockey KP Lim was shown the video of his ride on FIRST SUCCESS and was warned against
the practice of bouncing up and down on his mount’s back.

RACE 9 (R618) CLASS 5(B) – 1700M
BALBOA which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
CLOUD SHADOW (AM Aizat) was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to race.
DAWNBREAKER (J Low) and CROWN DELIGHT (CK Khaw) were both slow into stride.
Approaching the crossing at the 1500M-mark, DARK KNIGHT (KC Wong) appeared to baulk at the crossing and thereafter started bucking and ducked outwards sharply, inconveniencing BALBOA (App SN Shiva) and carrying CROWN DELIGHT (CK Khaw) outwards to the outside running rail where both riders were dislodged. Jockey CK Khaw and App SN Shiva were both exempted from weighing-in.
At approximately the 400M-mark, RAISE ME UP (KP Lim) which was laying out, steadied momentarily off the heels of CAPE LINCOLN (SU Lim).
Trainer T Asogan was questioned with regards to the improved performance of CAPE LINCOLN today. He was unable to offer any explanation and was surprised by the performance. His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding “in-and-out” running and was warned that should this horse prove to be inconsistent in the future, it may be suspended.
