RACE 1 (R1097) CLASS 5(B) – 1600M
CAPE LINCOLN (R Rueven) was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.
D’GREAT MAGIC (AK Lim) had a tendency to hang out in the straight.
In the latter stages, RAISE ME UP (SS Vanan) rolled inwards and made contact with MYSTICAL STAR (K Eirwan). Jockey SS Vanan was warned that he should make a greater attempt to keep his mount on a straight course in future.
App SN Shiva, the rider of THE JEWELLER, and Jockey R Rueven, the rider of CAPE LINCOLN, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of THE JEWELLER and CAPE LINCOLN revealed no obvious abnormality.
Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey K Eirwan, the rider of MYSTICAL STAR, placed 2nd against RAISE ME UP (SS Vanan), being declared the winner, on the grounds of alleged interference in the latter stages of the race. After considering the evidence, the Racing Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled and the result stood.

RACE 2 (R1098) CLASS 5(B) – 1600M
This race was re-scheduled to start 5 minutes later at 2.20 pm.
MERRY BELL, a course scratching as it was sore off fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Light rain fell prior to the running of Race 2 and heavy rain fell during the running of this race.
SECOND CHANCE (R Rueven) was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 12.41 pm when it was discovered that there was an administrative error with regard to vaccination.
Jockey How Yang was fined RM500/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 107(10) for failing to make the carded weight on I’M THE MAN. The Stewards permitted Jockey SS Vanan to replace Jockey How Yang as the rider of I’M THE MAN.
JEFFREY (KC Tham) was inconvenienced at the start and was slow into stride when LIM’S KEYWAY (App Z Syafifie) was carried inwards by APOLLO ROCK (App WW Cheah) which jumped awkwardly.
JEFFREY shifted out to obtain a clear run at approximately the 500M-mark.
All riders returned to scale an average of ½ kg over.
Jockeys AM Aizat and SU Lim, the respective rider of MOONSHINE MISTRESS and TAIWAN CAPTAIN, reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of MOONSHINE MISTRESS and TAIWAN CAPTAIN revealed no obvious abnormality.
Jockey S Salee, the rider of MICHAELEARNSTOROCK reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of MICHAELEARNSTOROCK revealed no obvious abnormality. MICHAELEARNSTOROCK which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 3 (R1099) CLASS 5(A) – 1600M
Rain fell during the running of Race 3.
Shortly after jumping, BIG POWER (App Z Syafifie) was inconvenienced when PENANG BANK (App WW Cheah) shifted in. In this incident, DREAMS CAN BE REAL (SU Lim) which was following, was also inconvenienced. App WW Cheah, in the presence of his Acting Trainer, Trainer HS Lim, was shown the video of the incident and was advised to exercise more care.
SHA NA NA (KC Tham), CHER (AK Lim) and HEARTS OF GOLD (AM Aizat) all finished the race wide.
ARROGATE ACHIEVER (App Clyde Leck) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of GURNEY DRIVE (S Salee) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R1100) CLASS 4(B) – 1300M
KANTE and ONE FOR ALL both course scratching as they had sustained a stone bruise off fore foot and a bruised near fore cannon respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
DAVINCI (App A Saran) and MAESTRO ECLIPSE (L De Souza) were both slow into stride.
Approaching the 400M-mark, OUD WOOD (KC Tham) faltered.
Jockey KC Tham, the rider of OUD WOOD, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of OUD WOOD revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that MAESTRO ECLIPSE bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

STAR GENIUS (R Rueven) was slow into stride.
DIRECTOR (App WW Cheah) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
GRAND CHOICE (App Clyde Leck) was hanging out in the straight.
A post-race veterinary examination of GIFTED (KC Tham) revealed that the gelding returned broken-winded and as such will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 6 (R1102) CLASS 5(A) – 1200M
LUCKY THIRTYNINE, a course scratching as it was sore near fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
FAST AND SUPER (SS Vanan) cast its near fore and off fore plates whilst in the parade ring. Acting on veterinary advice that FAST AND SUPER was very difficult to be re-shod, the Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.13pm.
D’GREAT STRIKE (AM Aizat) was slow into stride.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SIMLONG BEACH (S Salee) and QIJI LOVE (How Yang) revealed no obvious abnormality.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey How Yang, the rider of QIJI LOVE, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge were that he failed to ride QIJI LOVE with sufficient vigiour and determination in the straight.
When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account the facts of this case, Jockey How Yang’s points of mitigation and his record. Jockey How Yang was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months with effect from Sunday, 18th September 2022 and to expire on Tuesday, 17th January 2023, both days inclusive. In addition, Jockey How Yang was fined a sum of RM10,000/- (Malaysian Ringgit Ten Thousand). He was advised of his Right of Appeal (6.15pm).

Jockey AM Aizat and App SN Shiva, the respective rider of D’GREAT EFFORT and SILVER SIXTYSIX, reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of D’GREAT EFFORT and SILVER SIXTYSIX revealed no obvious abnormality.

NOVA DASHING (R Rueven) was slow into stride.
SATELLITE GENIUS (KC Tham) and NOVA DASHING came together and brushed at approximately the 100M-mark.
The saddle on STRONG MAN (App A Azizi) slipped back in the running.
Post-race veterinary examinations of GIANT KILLING (AK Lim) and NEVERUNCONDITIONAL (SS Vanan) revealed no obvious abnormality.

GENERAL REPORT – PRTC
The Senior Veterinary Surgeon of Perak Turf Club had reported that the following horse had undergone corrective surgery at the PRTC Equine Hospital between 22nd July 2022 to 21st August 2022 and as such, will be required to pass a Steward’s Embargo Test before being declared to race again :-

POST RACE ANALYSIS (EQUINE)
3RD & 4TH SEPTEMBER 2022
PERAK SEPTEMBER MEETING 2022
The report dated 15th September 2022 (V22/138) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 37 coded urine and 41 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 4th September 2022, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected except for sample coded “33815” which revealed the presence of “Ketoprofen”. Upon decoding, it was established that the sample coded ‘33815” was reported to have been taken from the horse “BLUE EYED BOY” which finished 2nd in Race 2 on 3rd September 2022 at the Perak Turf Club September Meeting 2022.
In addition, on 17th September 2022, Trainer Evert van Breukelen, the trainer of “BLUE EYED BOY” was advised of the contents of this report and his attention drawn to MRA Rule 137(1)/MRA Regulation 46.1 & 46.2 regarding the Referee Sample. Trainer Evert van Breukelen was also advised that “BLUE EYED BOY” cannot be entered to race until cleared by the PRTC Stipendiary Stewards under MRA Rule 134(12).
An Inquiry into this matter will be held at a date to be fixed.
JOCKEY URINE SAMPLES:
3RD & 4TH SEPTEMBER 2022
PERAK SEPTEMBER MEETING 2022
The report dated 15th September 2022 (V22/139) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 4 bottles of coded urine samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 4th September 2022 for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected except for sample coded J-3879, which upon analysis, was tested positive to “Mitragynine”, a prohibited substance.
Upon decoding, it was established that sample coded J-3879 was provided by App M Ekdihar. App M Ekdihar was notified of the finding from Usains Biomics Laboratory through his Employing Trainer, Mr SY Lim on Saturday, 17th September 2022. He was also informed of the provisions of MRA Rule137 and MRA Regulation 46 with regard to the Referee Sample.
Under MRA Rule 136(3), App M Ekdihar is stood down from riding races and riding track-work, barrier trials and tests with immediate effect, pending an Inquiry being conducted at a date to be fixed.
GENERAL REPORT – PNTC
POST RACE ANALYSIS (EQUINE)
21ST AUGUST 2022
PENANG AUGUST MEETING 2022
The report dated 1st September 2022 (V22/130) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 25 coded urine and 25 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 22nd August 2022, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
No prohibited substances were detected except for sample coded “35123” which revealed the presence of “Dexamethasone”. After decoding this sample number, it was established that the sample was reported to have been taken from the horse “ GET THE LOTSKI” which collapsed in the holding area and was withdrawn from Race 7 on 21st August 2022 at the Penang Turf Club August Meeting 2022.
The PNTC Veterinary Surgeon, vide letter dated 21st August 2022, reported that GET THE LOTSKI was administered 10ml of Dexamethasone intravenously immediately after it collapsed and the horse slowly recovered.
Since Dexamethasone was administered to GET THE LOTSKI by the Club Veterinary Surgeon as an emergency treatment, no further action was taken.
