DON’T FORGET THIS was withdrawn with permission of the Stewards as it failed to arrive on time on course as a result of the float breakdown on the highway en route to the Penang Turf Club.
PENANG GENERAL (App Z Syafifie) jumped awkwardly outwards.
SUNNY STAR (S Ruzaini) was slowly away.
BIG MONKEY (AM Aizat) was racing keen in the early and middle stages.
Entering the home straight, SUNNY STAR switched out over the heels of LEEDSTHEWAY (R Narendran) to obtain clear running.

BANGKOK BOY and LUCK HAPPY were both withdrawn with permission of the Stewards as they failed to arrive on time on course as a result of the float breakdown on the highway en route to the Penang Turf Club.
The Official Starter reported that there was a problem with the electronic start device and as such, this race was started manually.
MYSTICAL STAR ((App N Shahronizam) was slow into stride and was obliged to race wide on the turn.

RONALDO’S DREAM (S Ruzaini) over-raced in the early stages.

BIG BUS (How Yang)) raced wide rounding the turn and entering the straight, finishing the race wide.
ELUSIVE EMPEROR (TK Barnabas) had a tendency to lay outwards in the straight.
A post-race veterinary examination of ELUSIVE EMPEROR revealed no obvious abnormality.

HEARING OF APPEAL FROM PROFESSIONAL JOCKEY RUEVEN RAVINDRA A/L JAMES RAVINDRA (R RUEVEN) AGAINST THE FINDING AND THE PENALTY OF THREE MONTHS’ SUSPENSION AND RM10,000/- FINE IMPOSED BY THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS FOR CONTRAVENTION OF MRA RULE 44(10) FOR THE RUNNING AND HANDLING OF “MERRY BELL” IN RACE 1 (MRA 0895) ON SUNDAY, 20TH AUGUST 2023, PENANG TURF CLUB AUGUST MEETING 2023
The Penang Turf Club Racing Stewards today (14th October 2023) heard the above Appeal.
After considering the submissions from Jockey R Rueven and the Stipendiary Steward, and after reviewing the video replay, the Racing Stewards dismissed the Appeal. The penalty of three months’ suspension was confirmed and the RM10,000/- fine remained. Jockey R Rueven’s suspension takes effect from today, (Saturday, 14th October 2023) and to expire on Saturday, 13th January 2024, both dates inclusive.
The Appeal deposit was forfeited.

The report dated 6th October 2023 (V23/148) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 27 sets of coded urine and 27 sets of coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 23rd September 2023, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
