At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey XC Liang, the rider of HANDSOME JOYFUL, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ROAD OF TIGER and GOLDEN CUP at approximately the 900M.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey XC Liang’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 10 March 2025 and to expire on 23 March 2025, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey KC Tham’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 10 March 2025 and to expire on 15 March 2025, both dates inclusive. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM1,000/–. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey A Suriya’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 10 March 2025 and to expire on 16 March 2025, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

At the 250M, TENNET TENTENNET was inconvenienced when awkwardly placed between PACIFIC WARRIOR which shifted in away from the whip marginally and SACRED COMMAND which shifted out away from the whip.
A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Jockey C Henrique, the rider of the second placed horse (TENNET TENTENNET) against the winner, PACIFIC WARRIOR (L De Souza) on the grounds of interference at approximately the 250M.
After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board overruled the objection as it could not be satisfied that without the above incident, TENNET TENTENNET would not have finished ahead of PACIFIC WARRIOR.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC
RACE 2 (R0137) CLASS 5A – 1150M (Track II +4), SATURDAY, 1 MARCH 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2025
The Stewards, on Sunday, 9 March 2025 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the running and handling of JEWEL SIXTY-ONE and took evidence from App I Fikri, the rider of the gelding.
After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action, however, advised him to ride his mounts so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards.
RACE 11 (R0146) CLASS 4B – 1400M (LC A4), SATURDAY, 1 MARCH 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2025
The Stewards, on Sunday, 9 March 2025 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into an incident at about the 600M. Evidence was taken from App T Ammar, the rider of LIMITLESS VENTURE, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, S Dunderdale.
After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action.

The report dated 7 March 2025 (V25/035) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 2 coded urine samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 1 March 2025, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
