RACE 1 (R374) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc)

MY AIM, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again

Emergency acceptor SONNY BILL was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

SPEEDY SWALLOW (J Low) which was difficult to be loaded and was slow into stride, will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.

INVICTUS WARRIOR (C Goon) was slow into stride and thereafter, was pulling hard and was difficult to settle.

JOYFUL (R Rueven) over-raced in the early stages.

At approximately the 1400M-mark, TONGARIRO (AK Lim) was inconvenienced and had to be steadied when SPEEDY SWALLOW rolled outwards on the turn.

On entering the straight, MAZANZE (HK Cheng) carried STAGESHOW (App S Hafis) out.

Jockeys AK Lim and AM Aizat, the rider of TONGARIRO and THE JEWELLER both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of TONGARIRO revealed that the gelding returned with epiglotic entrapment and THE JEWELLER revealed no obvious abnormality. TONGARIRO will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of INVICTUS WARRIOR revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SPEEDY SWALLOW returned having cast its off hind plate.

RACE 2 (R375) CLASS 5(B) – 1600m (lc)

Emergency acceptors MOMENTUM GALAXY and SECOND CHANCE were withdrawn due to a capacity field

In terms of MRA Rule 115, the Panel of Stewards declared FIRST SUCCESS (App YY Oon) a non-runner, as its barrier gate did not open. The gates of MONACO ACE (S Salee) and GLORY AGE (J Chuah) were considerably slow to open and as such, the Panel of Stewards also declared them as non-runners. All bets on FIRST SUCCESS, MONACO ACE and GLORY AGE would be refunded.

Trainer HY Cheng was questioned with regards to the improved performance of MICHIKAWA today. He explained that on the 12^th of February 2022 at PNTC, the gelding was slow to jump and since then, he had subjected MICHIKAWA to barrier jump practices. Today, this horse had jumped on terms and in his opinion, this may have accounted for the improved performance. His explanations were noted.

RACE 3 (R376) CLASS 5 (B) – 1600m (lc)

LUCK HAPPY a course scratching as it had sustained bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again

MYSTICAL STAR (L De Souza) and SING DARCI (S Saddam) were slow into stride.

A post-race veterinary examination of TRINITY HONOR revealed no obvious abnormality.

Trainer PK Leong was questioned with regards to the improved performance of GET THE LOTSKI (M Yusri) today, as compared with its run last week. He was unable to offer any explanation and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

An Inquiry was opened today into the running and handling of TRINITY HONOR, ridden by App A Saran and trained by Trainer Evert van Breukelen. Evidence was taken from App A Saran in the presence of his master, Trainer T Asogan and Trainer Evert van Breukelen. After reviewing the race videos, App A Saran pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

The particulars of the charge were that:

1) he failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination on his mount from the start until approximately the 200M-mark.

Thereby, failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account his disciplinary records and mitigating factors. App A Saran was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months effective from Monday, 28^th March 2022 and to expire on Wednesday, 27^thJuly 2022, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was fined a sum of RM10,000/- He was advised of his right of appeal (3.12pm).

RACE 4 (R377) CLASS 4(A) -1400m (sc)

LIM’S PIPER, MACARTHUR and PALTROW all are course scratching. LIM’S PIPER had sustained a bruised off fore sole, MACARTHUR had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock and PALTROW sustained a bruised off fore sole. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again

ONE FORCE (CK Khaw) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

STAR GENIUS (J Daniel) threw its head up, jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

Passing the 200M-mark, ANDADO (CK Tan) had to switch out to obtain a clear running.

Jockey J Daniel and S Saddam, the rider of STAR GENIUS and DIAMOND RUSH respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of STAR GENIUS revealed no obvious abnormality and DIAMOND RUSH had returned with bruised heel bulbs of its near fore. DIAMOND RUSH will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that DIAMOND RUSH returned having cast its near fore plate and MAGNOLIA BLVD (AK Lim) returned having cast its off hind plate.

ELITE REMARKABLE, a course scratching which had tied up, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptors KING POWER and RULE THE WORLD were withdrawn due to a capacity field.

PONTIANAK which was up 26kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

Acting on veterinary advice that FAST AND SUPER (App S Hafis) which could not be re-shod, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.55pm.

Acting on veterinary advice that ORDOS LEGEND (HS Gill) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.23pm. ORDOS LEGEND will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

LAGO DE COMO (AM Aizat) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. BEIJING STAR (J Low) was also slow into stride.

A post-race veterinary examination of ROSES FOR ME (M Yusri) revealed no obvious abnormality.

GOLDEN ROOSTER, a course scratching as it had sustained sole bruised near fore, it will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Jockeys C Goon, R Rueven and AM Aizat, the riders of PROVOCATEUR, AWATERE and BIG SUPER respectively, reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of PROVOCATEUR, AWATERE and BIG SUPER revealed no obvious abnormality.

App Clyde Leck, the rider of THE ICEMAN also reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of THE ICEMAN revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that AWATERE (R Rueven) returned having cast its near fore plate.

All riders returned an average of 1kg over.

An Inquiry was opened into the riding of BIG SUPER, ridden by Jockey AM Aizat today in the later stages. After hearing evidence from Jockey AM Aizat and reviewing the videos, he was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(6) for failing to ride his mount to the end of the race.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account Jockey AM Aizat’s disciplinary records and mitigating factors. He was fined a sum of RM1,000/-.

CLASSIC KING, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore pastern, it will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

D’GREAT WIN (J Low) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

LUCKY GIANT (J Daniel) and TILSWORTH MALI (App S Hafis) were slow into stride.

QUEEN FORCE (J Chuah) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of TILSWORTH MALI and QUEEN FORCE revealed no obvious abnormality.

An Inquiry was opened into a report from the Clerk-of-Scales that App S Hafis, the rider of TILSWORTH MALI had returned 1.5kg over. Evidence was taken from App S Hafis, in the presence of acting trainer, Trainer S Deva Raj and the Clerk of Scales.

After considering all evidence, App S Hafis was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 121(7) and was fined a sum of RM1,000/-.

RANT AND RAVE (S Saddam) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

LUCKY SIXTYSIX (R Rueven) jumped awkwardly.

Upon jumping, the saddle on SUNTZU (J Daniel) slipped back.

EMPEROR WARRIOR (App S Hafis) was inconvenienced at the start when racing tight between PURE SPARK (HS Gill) and SMALL CHILLI (SU Lim).

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of PURE SPARK reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of PURE SPARK revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that METEOR LOUI (L De Souza) returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

GENERAL REPORT

RACE 6 (R051), DAY 2, SATURDAY, 8^th JANUARY 2022, PERAK JANUARY MEETING 2022

Jockey J Low, the rider of LADY BOSS was interviewed by the Stewards regarding the incident where his mount broke down, dislodging him. He explained that no other horse(s) or rider(s) contributed to the incident and it was purely due to LADY BOSS breaking down.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry today, Jockey S Saddam pleaded guilty to a charge for misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that at about 11.35am today, Sunday, 27^th March 2022, he drove his car through the PRTC entrance in a fast and aggressive manner, resulting in the security guard having to take evasive action.

Jockey S Saddam was fined the sum of RM1,000/-.

THE JEWELLER, a course scratching as it had sustained a sole bruised off hind sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again

Emergency acceptors PURPLE RAIN LADY and CHIEF CLERK were withdrawn due to a capacity field.

SUPREME JUSTICE which was up 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

KING RAVANA (R Rueven) and JOYFUL (AK Lim) were both examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.

SONNY BILL (KC Wong) was slow into stride.

Despite winning, the Panel of Stewards questioned Jockey R Rueven with regards to the manner in which he rode KING RAVANA, especially in the backstraight. Jockey R Rueven had no explanations, other than in his opinion, the pace was fast, which the Panel of Stewards did not agree with. He was warned to ride all his mounts out in such a manner so as to leave no room for query.

Jockey J Daniel, the rider of GALLANT BLACK reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of GALLANT BLACK revealed no obvious abnormality, however the gelding returned having cast its near fore plate.

A post-race veterinary examination of SUPREME JUSTICE (Y Aify) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Trainer Evert van Breukelen was questioned with regards to the tactics on IPOH DASH today. He explained that his instruction was not to lead, but to sit handy, however, due to the pace being slow, he found himself in front. His explanations were noted.

EMPEROR WARRIOR, a course scratching as it had sustained nail bind injury on its near fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again

Emergency acceptors GOLD KIDS and SONG KID were withdrawn due to a capacity field

STRONG MAN which was up 15kgs since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

The Panel of Stewards permitted App I Firdzriel to replace App I Firdza as the rider of HERO CHAMPION when the latter was certified unwell.

The Starter reported that this race was started manually.

BLUE EYED BOY (S Saddam) which stood and was very slow to begin, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of TOP TURF reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of TOP TURF revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that THUNDERSTRUCK (KC Wong) had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon also reported that STRONG MAN (App A Saran) returned having cast its near hind plate.

JOON HO (J Daniel) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

The gate of D’GREAT VULTURE (AK Lim) was marginally slow to open, resulting in this horse being slow into stride.

Under the provisions of MRA Rule 115, the Panel of Stewards declared BLACK MAMBA (CK Khaw) a non-runner, as its barrier gate did not open. All bets on BLACK MAMBA would be refunded.

SHA NA NA (Y Aify) and JOON HO were slow into stride.

The saddle on JOON HO slipped back during the running.

Jockey S Salee, the rider of CHIPS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of CHIPS revealed no obvious abnormality.

ONE FOR ALL and MA BAO BAO, both course scratching which had sustained a swollen near fore cannon and sore off hind foot respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptor MYSTICAL STAR was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

ASIAN TIGER which was down 25kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

GOLDEN BOLD (M Yusri) which stood and was very slow to begin, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

The saddle on D’GREAT DUCHESS (KC Wong) slipped forward during the running, placing its rider at a disadvantage. A post-race veterinary examination of D’GREAT DUCHESS which returned having cast its off fore plate, revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockey M Yusri was questioned with regards to GOLDEN BOLD being slow to begin today. He explained that the gelding slipped on jumping, resulting in it being slowly away. Trainer PK Leong, the trainer of GOLDEN BOLD was also questioned with regards to this matter. He stated that the jockey was instructed to get a good jump and try to ride handy. Their explanations were noted. A post-race veterinary examination of GOLDEN BOLD revealed no obvious abnormality, however GOLDEN BOLD which raced poorly, will also be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

SUPER COME which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

PLACE YOUR BET (HK Cheng) was hanging in in the backstraight.

Jockeys CK Khaw, R Rueven and M Yusri, the riders of SUPER WINNER, YOU ROKK and LAUS DEO respectively, all reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SUPER WINNER revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and having cast its off fore plate. Post-race examinations of YOU ROKK revealed no obvious abnormality and LAUS DEO returned with respiratory distress. As such, SUPER WINNER and LAUS DEO will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

SANGKURIANG, MR ROCKWELL and AWATERE are course scratching. SANGKURIANG had sustained a swollen off fore fetlock, MR ROCKWELL had sustained an abrasion on its left stifle and AWATERE had sustained a swollen off fore fetlock. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again

KIPEH which was down 20kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey CK Tan to replace App K Pavinthran as the rider of MERCHANT MARINE, when the latter had failed to comply with the Club’s SOP.

Trainer S Shanmugam was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on ASIAN JET.

ASIAN JET (J Daniel) jumped awkwardly outwards and CLASSIC KING (AK Lim) jumped awkwardly inwards, resulting in LADY BLA BLA (HS Gill) and MODRIC (App A Saran) being crowded.

Trainer S Hamilton was questioned with regards to the improved performance of MODRIC today. She explained that the horse had been working very well recently and she expected that it would run well, coupled with the fact that in her opinion, it was a relatively weaker field today. Her explanations were noted.

A post-race veterinary examination of DON’T FORGET THIS (KC Wong) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 8 (R339) OPEN MAIDEN (WFA) – 1400m (lc)

SEVEN SUNDAE which was up 19kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

A post-race veterinary examination of SEVEN SUNDAE (App I Firdzriel) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of VEGAS SHOWGIRL reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of VEGAS SHOWGIRL revealed that the filly had bled and as such, will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

An Inquiry was opened today into the running and handling of SEVEN SUNDAE, ridden by App I Firdzriel and trained by Trainer HY Cheng. Evidence was taken from App I Firdzriel in the presence of his acting trainer, Trainer KF Wong and Trainer HY Cheng. After reviewing the race videos, App I Firdzriel was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

The particulars of the charge were that:

1) App I Firdzriel failed to give sufficient reins on jumping;

2) Failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination in the straight.

Thereby, failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account his disciplinary records and mitigating factors. App I Firdzriel was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months, effective from Sunday, 20^th March 2022 and to expire on Tuesday, 19^th July 2022, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was fined the sum of RM10,000/- He was advised of his right of appeal (6.10pm).

D’GREAT MAGIC had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock, whilst SING EXPRESS had sustained a bruised near fore sole. Both these course scratching will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The saddle on OVERSEER (J Daniel) was re-adjusted behind the barriers.

FIRST SUCCESS (App YY Oon) which stood and was slow to begin and thereafter, raced poorly, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test and 1000M/vet before being declared to race again.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of JOYFUL reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of JOYFUL revealed no obvious abnormality and had returned having cast its near hind plate.

App A Saran, the rider of LION CONQUEROR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of LION CONQUEROR which raced poorly, revealed no obvious abnormality. The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer W Lim, the trainer of VALUE OF JUSTICE as to the apparent improved performance today. He was unable to offer any reasonable explanations and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running. Trainer W Lim was also warned that should VALUE OF JUSTICE prove to be inconsistent in future, the horse may be suspended.

The Panel of Stewards also questioned Trainer Evert van Breukelen, the trainer of GOLDEN EMPIRE as to its disappointing performance today. He explained that he had instructed Jockey S Saddam to ride GOLDEN EMPIRE mid-field, but the gelding showed no pace. The only other explanation he could offer was, possibly GOLDEN EMPIRE did not race well, as it raced again soon after its previous run.

Trainer C Robert was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to seek the Stewards’ permission for Jockey J Daniel to ride 1.5kg over on MR DREYFUSS within the stipulated time.

ONE FOR ALL which was down 20kgs in body weight since it last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

Jockey L De Souza was certified fit by the Club Medical Officer to resume riding today.

Acting on veterinary advice that ONE FOR ALL (S Rosmizan) was lame off hind, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1.44pm. The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

SPEEDY SWALLOW (J Chuah) which was difficult to be loaded, delaying the start, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

IPOH DASH (App S Hafis), WILDFIRE (AM Aizat) and BLUE EYED BOY (S Saddam) were slow into stride.

At approximately the 900M-mark, SPEEDY SWALLOW dipped in a tightly-bunched field.

WILDFIRE over-raced in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 900M-mark, COME ON JIMMY (App A Saran) rolled inwards, resulting in NORTHERN KNIGHT (HK Cheng) and MR DREYFUSS (J Daniel) being tightened.

App R Nuqman, the rider of ZAC ACE reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of ZAC ACE revealed no obvious abnormality.

Trainer C Robert was questioned with regards to the improved performance of MR DREYFUSS (J Daniel) today. He explained that it was having its first run for him today. He also stated that MR DREYFUSS was drawn well. His explanations were noted and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that COME ON JIMMY returned lame near fore and INVISIBLE (App S Sia) returned having cast its near fore plate. COME ON JIMMY will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

NAPOLEON (J Daniel) jumped awkwardly.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry today, Jockey S Rosmizan, the rider of SOON YOU THINK pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards in that:

he failed to give sufficient rein to SOON YOU THINK on jumping;
thereafter, he failed to make any serious attempt to improve his position which was contrary to his Trainer’s instructions and he thereby, failed to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Rosmizan’s guilty plea, riding records and mitigating factors. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months, effective from Monday, 21^st February 2022 and to expire on Friday, 20^th May 2022, both dates inclusive. In addition, Jockey S Rosmizan was fined the sum of RM10,000/- (Malaysian Ringgit: Ten Thousand Only) He was advised of his right of appeal (5.45pm).

Jockeys S Rosmizan, J Daniel and R Rueven, the riders of SOON YOU THINK, NAPOLEON and BABEL respectively reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of SOON YOU THINK, NAPOLEON and BABEL revealed no obvious abnormality.

LOYALTY’S ANGEL, a course scratching as it had sustained a swollen off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

LUCKY SIXTYSIX (App S Hafis) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. ARECIBO (App WW Cheah) was also slow into stride.

At approximately the 250M-mark, NEVERUNCONDITIONAL (App R Nuqman) had to steady off the heels of PERFECT KIARA (R Rueven) which was hanging out. Shortly thereafter, NEVERUNCONDITIONAL raced tight for some distance on the inside of ONCE A THIEF (App A Najib).

Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of D’GREAT LOVE reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises during the race. A post-race veterinary examination of D’GREAT LOVE revealed that the mare had returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

App R Nuqman, the rider of NEVERUNCONDITIONAL reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of NEVERUNCONDITIONAL revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Panel of Stewards permitted App A Nazir to ride SUNTZU instead of App A Najib.

As there was no suitable apprentice available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey J Daniel to replace App I Firdzriel as the rider of HERO CHAMPION as the latter was medically stood down.

Acting on veterinary advice that MIGHTY PHOENIX had sustained a cut to its coronary band off hind, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.08pm. The gelding will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

FLYING EBONY (App A Saran) was slow to begin.

At approximately the 800M-mark, TILSWORTH MALI (SS Vanan) was crowded and had to be steadied between FLYING EBONY and GOLDEN STATES (App S Hafis).

FLYING EBONY shifted in passing the 200M-mark, crowding and inconveniencing GOLDEN STATES.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that FLYING EBONY had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

After reviewing his ride, Jockey SS Vanan, the rider of TILSWORTH MALI was warned that he would be expected to ride all his mounts out so as to leave no room for query.

CHERISH (R Rueven) jumped inwards and SO BEAUTIFUL (L De Souza) shifted outwards over the heels of INTROIT, resulting in MA BAO BAO (J Daniel) and GHOST AFFAIR (App R Nuqman) being crowded.

NATUREISSPEAKING was hanging out at the backstraight.

The state of track was upgraded to ‘Good’ after the running of this race.

MR ALFONSO (CK Khaw) jumped awkwardly.

Passing the 800M-mark, ALCATRAZ (S Rosmizan) rolled inwards and MR ALFONSO (CK Khaw) rolled outwards slightly, resulting in D’GREAT DUCHESS (SS Vanan) being inconvenienced.

At approximately the 200M-mark, CK Tan, the rider of KING POWER dropped his right side rein and regained it shortly thereafter.

App A Saran, the rider of ALWAYS D’GREAT eased up his riding at the later stages when he was of the opinion that his mount was tiring. A post-race veterinary examination of ALWAYS D’GREAT revealed no obvious abnormality.

App S Hafis and App R Nuqman, the riders of MAESTRO ECLIPSE and ALRALI respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations MAESTRO ECLIPSE revealed no obvious abnormality and ALRALI returned with a cut to its heel bulb left hind.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that EASY SOUTH EAST returned with heat stress and as such, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

AMAZING DRAGON, a course scratching as it sustained a swollen off hind pastern, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptor KYO was withdrawn due to capacity field.

Acting on veterinary advice that EMPIRE BAY (R Rueven) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.43pm. The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

KEEN DRAGON (S Rosmizan) and MY FIRST MILLION (HK Cheng) were both examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and were passed fit to start.

MY FIRST MILLION which wad difficult to be loaded, delaying the start, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

The saddle on NOVA DASHING (AM Aizat) slipped back badly during the running, placing its rider at a disadvantage.

On straightening, VETRI NAMATHE (L De Souza) commenced to give ground rapidly, struck the inside rail and collapsed at the 100M-mark. VETRI NAMATHE was humanely euthanized. Jockey L De Souza was exempted from weighing-in.

App S Hafis, the rider of EXCALIBUR reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of EXCALIBUR revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, App WW Cheah, the rider of FLEDGELING in the presence of his master Trainer R Lines, pleaded guilty to a charge for misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that after the running of this race today, he consumed an alcoholic drink in the Jockeys’ Room after winning this race and having had his last ride for the day.

When deciding on a penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account App WW Cheah’s forthright evidence, his record and mitigating factors. He was fined the sum of RM2,000/- and was advised of his right of appeal (4.38pm).

Jockey S Rosmizan, the rider of DISCRETELY RED reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of DISCRETELY RED revealed no obvious abnormality.

SING ROULETTE (HS Gill) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

GOLD COMPANY (SU Lim) was slow into stride.

Passing the 300M-mark, FAST AND SUPER (App S Hafis) which was laying out, shifted outwards, resulting in NORTHERN KNIGHT (HK Cheng) steadying inwards over its heels. Shortly thereafter, PENNSYLVANIA (App I Firdzriel) rolled outwards, carrying NORTHERN KNIGHT outwards.

In the concluding stages, FAST AND SUPER continued to roll outwards, carrying NORTHERN KNIGHT out. Jockey HK Cheng, the rider of NORTHERN KNIGHT, placed 2^nd lodged an objection against the winner, FAST AND SUPER (App S Hafis), on grounds of alleged interference in the straight. After considering all the evidence and viewing the videos, the Panel of Stewards overruled the objection and the Judges’ results stood.

App S Hafis, the rider of FAST AND SUPER, in the presence of his acting Employing Trainer, Mr. Evert van Breukelen, was warned to make greater effort to keep his mount straight, on a straight course in future.

App I Firdzriel, the rider of PENNSYLVANIA was shown the video of his ride and was warned to make greater effort to keep his mount straight and also to ride all his mounts out fully to the finish.

Jockey AK Lim, the rider of ISLE OF SKY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of ISLE OF SKY revealed no obvious abnormality.

HEART OF COURAGE (CC Foo) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

WINDOW OF TIME which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

The Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of DARK WIZARD (AK Lim) at 4.15pm acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was found to be lame in its near hind. As such, DARK WIZARD will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

AGNI (SU Lim) jumped outwards, carrying NATUREISSPEAKING (HK Cheng) and BACH’S AIR (S Saddam) out.

WINTERFELL (L De Souza) jumped awkwardly.

Trainer S Shanmugam was questioned with regards to the improved performance of BALL AND CHAIN today. He stated that he has changed his training method and kept this horse fresh. His explanations were noted and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 113(7) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

IPOH DASH (App S Hafis) was slow into stride.

EASY SOUTH EAST (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards, carrying ELUSIVE EMPEROR (S Salee) outwards. In this incident, ELUSIVE EMPEROR stumbled.

The saddle on PURPLE RAIN (HK Cheng) slipped back during the running.

Jockey S Saddam (EASY SOUTH EAST) and App I Firdzriel (SHADOW SPEED) reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of EASY SOUTH EAST revealed that the gelding returned with heat stress and SHADOW SPEED revealed no obvious abnormality. EASY SOUTH EAST will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Jockey AK Lim, the rider of FLAGSHIP was dislodged on pulling-up. He was subsequently examined by the Club Medical Officer and was certified fit.

RACE 6 (R051) CLASS 5(B) – 1100m (sc)

KING FORCE was a course scratching when it was found to have a capped elbow and will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of LOYALTY’S ANGEL at 1.32pm acting on veterinary advice that the mare was found to have sustained a cut on its mouth and as such, the mare will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

SO BEAUTIFUL (SS Vanan) stumbled badly on jumping.

At approximately the 600M-mark, LADY BOSS broke down, dislodging Jockey J Low. In this incident, TILSWORTH MALI (CK Tan) and SO BEAUTIFUL took evasive actions. Jockey J Low, the rider of LADY BOSS who was injured, was exempted from weighing-in and was taken to hospital for observations. He would be questioned regarding this incident at a later date.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that LADY BOSS had fractured its near fore cannon and was humanely euthanized.

CROWN DELIGHT (App A Najib) was slow to begin.

NAPOLEON (J Daniel) was hanging out throughout.

At approximately the 600M-mark, THE JEWELLER (HS Gill) was crowded and had to steady on the inside of NAPOLEON.

KING WARRIOR (App R Nuqman) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of JJ STAR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of JJ STAR revealed that the gelding had bled and as such, will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

Acting on a report regarding an incident in the Jockeys’ Room after the running of this race, the Panel of Stewards opened an inquiry and took evidence from Jockeys HS Gill (THE JEWELLER), J Daniel (NAPOLEON) and SU Lim. Jockey HS Gill, the rider of THE JEWELLER pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he misconduct himself by pushing Jockey J Daniel in an aggressive manner in the Jockeys’ Room. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month, effective from 23^rd January 2022 and to expire on 22^nd February 2022, both dates inclusive and was informed of his right of appeal (2.55pm).

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that WINS (R Rueven) which casts its off fore plate behind the barriers, had to be re-shod, was examined and passed fit to start.

After taking evidence from Trainer S Deva Raj, the trainer of SUPER WINNER, App A Nazir, the rider of SUPER WINNER in the presence of Trainer K Coetzee, the Panel of Stewards took no further action, other than to warn App A Nazir that he must ride all his mounts out in a manner so as to leave no room for query in future.

LADY BLA BLA which was up 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey J De Souza to replace Jockey R Rueven as the rider of PACIFIC MISSION, when the latter was medically stood down.

After being loaded, JOEY (S Salee) which broke through the starting stall, was captured, examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon, was passed fit to start and had to be re-boxed. The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

GHAZALAH (App A Azizi) which was unable to be loaded, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 4.22pm and will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

MISS MINMIN (App AR Aiman) was slow into stride.

App I Firdzriel, the rider of BIG BAD MAMA reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of BIG BAD MAMA revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockey AK Lim, the rider of TAKREEM reported that his mount did not handle the going today.

The race was run in heavy rain. All riders returned an average of 1kg over.

RACE 1 (R013) CLASS 4(A) – 1600m (lc) HAPPINESS AND PROSPERITY HANDICAP

EMIRATES WARRIOR, a course scratching as it sustained bruised both fore fetlocks, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

ORDOS LEGEND which was up 18kgs in body weight since it last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

At approximately the 350M-mark, LUCKY TIGER (App A Saran) shifted outwards, resulting in TRIPLE ONE STAR (App S Sia) becoming crowded and having to check. An objection was lodged by App S Sia, the rider of TRIPLE ONE STAR, placed 3^rd against LUCKY TIGER (App A Saran), placed 2^nd on grounds of alleged interference at approximately the 350M-mark. After considering all the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that TRIPLE ONE STAR would have finished ahead of LUCKY TIGER, but for the incident, upheld the objection and the results were amended as follows:-

2^nd – TRIPLE ONE STAR (App S Sia)

3^rd – LUCKY TIGER (App A Saran)

4^th – MR DJ (M Yusri)

LUCKY TIGER and MR DJ (M Yusri) brushed at approximately the 100M-mark.

At a subsequent inquiry, App A Saran, the rider of LUCKY TIGER, in the presence of his acting master, Trainer S Shanmugam, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding LUCKY TIGER at approximately the 350M-mark, he shifted outwards, resulting in TRIPLE ONE STAR becoming crowded and having to check.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App A Saran’s guilty plea, disciplinary record and mitigating factors. App A Saran was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days, effective from Monday, 3^rd January 2022 and to expire on Sunday, 9^th January 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his right of appeal (1.45pm).

Jockey J Daniel, the rider of GOOD NEWS was dislodged on the pull-up and was subsequently certified fit to ride by the Club Medical Officer.

A post-race veterinary examination of TRIPLE ONE STAR revealed that the gelding had returned with lacerations to its near hind and as such, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

WHAT A BOSS (R Rueven) which was fractious in the barrier, jumped awkwardly, stumbled and lost several lengths, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

SILENT BOSS (HK Cheng) jumped awkwardly outwards and HAPPY DAYZ (J De Souza) jumped awkwardly inwards, resulting in CERDAN (App S Sia) and COPACABANA (J Chuah) being crowded.

Jockeys SS Vanan and J De Souza, the rider of CHIPS and HAPPY DAYZ respectively, reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of CHIPS and HAPPY DAYZ revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockeys J Daniel and S Saddam, the rider of LADY LAKSHMI and PURPLE RAIN respectively, both reported that their mounts were making abnormal respiratory noises. Post-race veterinary examinations of LADY LAKSHMI revealed that the mare had returned broken-winded and PURPLE RAIN revealed no obvious abnormality. LADY LAKSHMI will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer Evert van Breukelen with regards to the disappointing performance of MASTER JIANGMEN today. The only explanation he could offer was that this horse did not back up after its run on 21^st November 2021. He undertook to report back to the Stewards, if he should finds anything amiss during the week which may have accounted for the disappointing performance.

Jockey S Salee, the rider of LEEDSTHEWAY was hit by a clod of mud at approximately the 1100M-mark.

At approximately the 1000M-mark, LEEDSTHEWAY (S Salee) was inconvenienced when GOLDEN EMPIRE (S Saddam) rolled in slightly.

At approximately the 500M-mark, I AM MIDAS (AM Aizat) clipped the heels of SNAGGLE PUSS.

At approximately the 300M-mark, AMAZING DRAGON (App S Hafis) had to be steadied when GET THE LOTSKI (M Yusri) shifted inwards. Jockey M Yusri, the rider of GET THE LOTSKI was shown the video of the incident and was warned to exercise more care in future.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of TOP TURF reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of TOP TURF revealed no obvious abnormality.

STAR GENIUS (App R Lingarajan) jumped away awkwardly.

Jockey AK Lim, the rider of HELIOSPHERE reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of HELIOSPHERE revealed that the gelding returned broken-winded and had epiglotic entrapment. HELIOSPHERE will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again

A post-race veterinary examination of STAR GENIUS revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App R Lingarajan, the rider of STAR GENIUS in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Trainer K Coetzee was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(8) as read with MRA Rule 44(8)(a) for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure that STAR GENIUS was given a full opportunity of obtaining the best possible placing.

The details of the charge are that:

After jumping away awkwardly, App R Lingarajan continually takes hold of and restrains his mount in the backstraight, placing it in a position where it could not race to its best advantage.
From the 800M to entering the home straight, he failed to make any attempt to improve his position when it was reasonable to do so.

When deciding on the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration his mitigating factors and riding record. App R Lingarajan was disqualified for a period of one (1) year with immediate effect today, 27^th November 2021 and to expire on 26^th November 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his right of appeal (5.10pm).

As Jockey SS Vanan failed to arrive on course by the stipulated time of his first carded engagement on CASTLE OCEAN, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey L De Souza to replace him as the rider of CASTLE OCEAN. Taking into consideration of Jockey SS Vanan’s record, he was fined a sum of RM1,000/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 44(2).

MADE IN CHINA (CK Khaw) which cast its near fore plate behind the barriers, had to be re-shod, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

EASY SOUTH EAST (R Rueven) jumped awkwardly inwards, brushing AUSSIE EAGLE (AM Aizat).

App S Rosmizan and App I Firdzriel, the riders of ZAC ACE and MAZANZE respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of ZAC ACE and MAZANZE revealed no obvious abnormality.

INQUIRY INTO THE EVIDENCE SUBMITTED BY TRAINER CC OOI AT THE RUNNING AND HANDLING INQUIRY OF “KRATOS” AT PNTC ON 20^th AND 21^st NOVEMBER 2021 (RACE 5 (R933), SATURDAY, 20^th NOVEMBER 2021) – PENANG TURF CLUB NOVEMBER MEETING 2021

At the conclusion of the inquiry at PRTC today, Trainer CC Ooi pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that, at the inquiries into the running and handling of KRATOS held on 20^th and 21^st November 2021, he, as the Trainer of KRATOS, was completely un-cooperative and would not answer questions by the Stipendiary Stewards or give an opinion on the ride when required to do so.

When deciding on a penalty, the Stipendiary Stewards took into consideration Trainer CC Ooi’s mitigating factors. Trainer CC Ooi was fined a sum of RM5,000/- (Ringgit Malaysia: Five Thousand Only) and he was advised of his right of appeal. (12.05pm)

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that DESTINY KNIGHT (HK Cheng) had cast its near fore plate behind the barrier and had to be re-shod. The gelding was examined and passed fit to start.

SOON YOU THINK (App YY Oon) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

At approximately the 1000M-mark, DROUGHT (App I Firdzriel) clipped the heels of SUNNY FIGHTER (App S Hafis). At a subsequent inquiry, App S Hafis in the presence of his acting trainer, Trainer S Shanmugam, pleaded guilty to a charge for careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in when insufficiently clear of DROUGHT, resulting in that horse clipping its heels and stumbling.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App S Hafis’s plea, disciplinary record and mitigating factors. App S Hafis was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) days, with effect from Monday, 8^th November 2021 and to expire on Sunday, 21^st November 2021, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (4.45pm).

App S Rosmizan, the rider of MODRIC reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of MODRIC revealed no obvious abnormality.

GENERAL REPORT – PNTC

CONTINUATION OF STIPENDIARY STEWARDS’ INQUIRY INTO JOCKEY HK CHENG RIDING “BILLY MOJO” WHICH FINISHED UNPLACED IN RACE 3 (R446) ON SATURDAY, 25^th JULY 2020 AND ‘PACIFIC MYSTICAL” WHICH WON IN RACE 2 (R452) ON SUNDAY, 26^th JULY 2020, DURING PENANG JULY MEETING 2020, BOTH THE RUNNERS WERE SOLELY OWNED BY HIS SISTER-IN-LAW, MS CHERELLE GOH AND TRAINED BY TRAINER HY CHENG.

On the 3^rd of November 2021, the PNTC Racing Stewards referred the above matter to the Stipendiary Stewards for further investigation to establish whether any other person(s) should be held liable.

Further evidence were taken from Trainer HY Cheng, the trainer of BILLY MOJO and PACIFIC MYSTICAL into the above matter.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Trainer HY Cheng pleaded guilty to a charge for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to get permission for an exemption for his brother, Jockey HK Cheng to ride the two horses, as required. Trainer HY Cheng was fined the sum of RM2,000/- and was advised of his right of appeal (12.55pm).
