IMMORTALITY which was down 19kg in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

COLORADO PRINCE (AM Aizat) jumped away awkwardly.

IMMORTALITY (M Ganeesh) was slow into stride.

Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of COLORADO PRINCE reported that his mount was making respiratory noises.  A post-race veterinary examination of COLORADO PRINCE revealed that the gelding returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey M Ganeesh, the rider of IMMORTALITY reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of IMMORTALITY revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that PURAVI (J Chuah) had collapsed on returning to the parade ring and died.  A post-mortem will be conducted.

MORE THAN FAST, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off hind pastern, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The saddle on HAPPY START (J Low) slipped backwards during the running of the race.

THUNDERSTRUCK (C Goon) laid in passing the 50M and brushed KEEN DRAGON (AM Aizat).

App S Saddam, the rider of YOU ARE GENIUS reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of YOU ARE GENIUS revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that FIELD FORCE (AK Lim) had bled and as such, will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that ELAINE LOVER (HS Gill) returned having cast its off fore plate.

App CK Khaw, the rider of KUTTNER reported that his mount could not handle the going.

A post-race veterinary examination of SHENBAO revealed no obvious abnormality.

The state of track was down-graded to ‘soft’ after the running of this race.

RACING MAN (SS Vanan) raced wide from the 800M until the 500M.

NAPOLEON (App S Hafis) and JETSTAR EAGLE (R Rueven) laid out over the concluding stages, finishing wider on the track.

All riders returned an average of 1.5kgs over.

App S Saddam and I Firdzriel, the riders of ONE O NINE and CAVATINA both reported that their mounts did not handle the going today.

RACE 5 (R732)         CLASS 5(A) –  1400M (lc)            

ASIAN TIGER, which was down 32kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

This race was run in steady rain.

GOOD DEAL (M Ganeesh), DON’T FORGET THIS (M Yusri), ARTEMISTER (App I Firdzriel) and GLORY AGE (R Rueven) were all slow into stride.

All riders returned an average of 2kgs over.

After the running of this race, the Panel of Stewards heard representations from a delegation of Jockeys who had ridden in the above race regarding the track condition and visibility due to the inclement weather and that the rider group did not want to continue racing. The Panel of Stewards also considered a representation of the Trainers with runners in Race 6 and after further discussion it was agreed to reschedule Race 6 to 3.50pm. At 3.25pm the rider group agreed to ride in Race 6.

QUASAR, AMAZING DRAGON and D’GREAT ACHIEVER, all course scratchings as they had sustained sole bruised off fore, sore back and bruised near fore pastern respectively, each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of GOOD TASTE at 12.34pm, acting on veterinary advice that the gelding had suffered corneal ulcer in its right eye.  GOOD TASTE will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Due to the rain and inclement weather, the start of this race was re-scheduled 30 minutes later to commence at 3.50pm.

All riders returned an average of 0.5kgs over.

After the running of this race, the Panel of Stewards heard representations from a delegation of Jockeys who had ridden in the above race regarding the track condition and visibility due to the continuing inclement weather.   After considering their opinion regarding their safety and poor visibility, the Panel of Stewards decided to abandon Race 7 to Race 10 at 4.10pm.

The Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of thirteen (13) horses from Penang Turf Club based on the advice given by the Penang Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) as follow: –

STEWARDS’ INSPECTIONS

The Panel of Stewards conducted an inspection of the PRTC’s Jockeys Room today, Sunday, 20th September 2020.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, both Jockeys J Low and M Ganeesh were charged for misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 106(5) in that they were found to be in possession of a handphone each in the Jockeys Room which was specified as a restricted area by the Perak Turf Club, during a routine inspection by the Panel of Stewards at 12.08pm.   They were fined RM500/- each and were informed of their rights of appeal (12.18pm)

LADY LAKSHIMI, a course scratching as it had sustained sore back, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

ASIAN JET (App P Mogun) which cast its off fore plate behind the barriers, had to be re-shod.  The gelding was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

Jockey SS Vanan, the rider of JUMBO STAR reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of JUMBO STAR revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of BLACK IS POWER (SU Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality and ALIEN (AM Aizat) revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded.  ALIEN will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that MERCHANT MARINE (App CK Khaw) and ASIAN JET returned having cast its near fore plate and off fore plate respectively.

ON THE RAZZ (App S Hafis) laid out from the 200M, taking EMIRATES WARRIOR (HS Gill) wider on the track.  App S Hafis, the rider of ON THE RAZZ, in the presence of his acting Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of ON THE RAZZ was shown the vision of his ride and was advised to straighten his mount under similar circumstances in future.

A post-race veterinary examination of DARCI SUPER (CK Tan) revealed no obvious abnormality.

LION CONQUEROR (App S Saddam) which was restless, reared and dislodged its rider, App S Saddam.  LION CONQUEROR was removed from the stall, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon, was passed fit to start and was re-boxed. 

LION CONQUEROR which was fractious in the barrier, jumped away awkwardly outwards.   As a result, App S Saddam lost the use of his near side rein for a short distance and shifted out thereafter. 

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of SHOSHA KAZANAN reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of SHOSHA KAZANAN revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to be pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. 

A post-race veterinary examination of MR MOSA (App L De Souza) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Panel of Stewards permitted App S Saddam to be the rider of FRANKLY MY DEAR. 

The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey AK Lim to replace Jockey M Yusri as the rider of WIN MAK MAK when the latter was medically stood down by the Club Medical Officer. 

STAGESHOW (App S Hafis) and ONE FOR ALL (KC Wong) were both slow to begin. 

BIG BANK (R Shafiq) raced wide from the 800M and entered the straight wide. 

Jockey M Ganeesh, the rider of PREMIUM STARS reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of PREMIUM STARS revealed no obvious abnormality. 

Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of PURPLE RAIN reported that his mount was making respiratory noises.  A post-race veterinary examination of PURPLE RAIN revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to be pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. 

App L De Souza and App S Saddam, the riders of POWERFUL FIGHTER and FRANKLY MY DEAR respectively, both reported that their mounts could not handle the going today.

A post-race veterinary examination of DUTY FIRST (J De Souza) revealed that the gelding had bled and as such, will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of CRACKING TOTTIE (App P Mogun) and PERFECT COMMANDO (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality and ROGER (S Anandan) had bled and as such, ROGER will be barred from racing for a period of six (6) months under MRA Rule 92(5)(a),(b)&(c) as the gelding had suffered its second bleeding attack and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

PERAK AUGUST RACE MEETING 2020 

The report dated 22nd August 2020 (V20/09) from the Chief Analyst of USains Biomics Laboratory stated that 114 of coded blood samples were received from the above mentioned race meeting for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.  All samples were analyzed and none failed the pre-race testing criteria.

Racing to the 800M, ARLO (SU Lim) rolled out, resulting in COLORADO PRINCE (M Ganeesh) being taken out across the heels of SOLID BRISK (App S Hafis).  

Racing to the 600M, COLORADO PRINCE had to be checked again when SOLID BRISK steadied off the heels of MAESTRO (App CK Khaw). 

THUNDERSTRUCK (C Goon) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey J Daniel, the rider of MY FIRST MILLION reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of MY FIRST MILLION revealed no obvious abnormality.

MR DAVID dislodged its rider, App P Haris, enroute to the start and was apprehended shortly.   The Club Medical Officer certified that App P Haris was fit to ride.  The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined MR DAVID and passed it fit to start. 

Acting on the advice of the Starter that SUPER COME (App S Hafis) was unable to be boxed, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of SUPER COME at 4.27pm and the gelding will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again. 

KING POWER (CK Tan) was slow into stride. 

WORLD HARMONY (J Daniel) jumped away awkwardly, threw its head up and lost ground. 

Jockeys HS Gill, CK Tan and J Daniel, the riders of DEADLINE DAY, KING POWER and WORLD HARMONY respectively, reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of DEADLINE DAY, KING POWER and WORLD HARMONY revealed no obvious abnormality. 

As Jockey Z Khairil had ridden his 151st winner on BELLA VELOCE today, he will not be entitled to any claims in future.

Post-race veterinary examinations of NOVA SWISS and WHITE CHIN (AK Lim) revealed that these geldings had returned with respiratory distress and sustained a superficial cut to its near hind respectively.  NOVA SWISS will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet) and WHITE CHIN will be required to pass a veterinary examination both before being declared to race again.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of GOOD TASTE, placed 2nd against GLORY AGE (R Rueven) being declared the winner on grounds of alleged interference over the final 100M.  After considering all the evidence and reviewing the vision of the race, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the results of the race.  The objection was overruled and the Judges’ placing stood.

Over the final 100M, GLORY AGE shifted in, resulting in GOOD TASTE being taken in.

GERMAN SPEED (App R Nuqman) jumped away awkwardly and lost considerable ground, will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.   

Approaching the winning post, GERMAN SPEED ducked out suddenly, unbalancing its rider momentarily.

App R Nuqman, the rider of GERMAN SPEED also reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of MY AIM (KC Wong) and BORN A FIGHTER (O Chavez) revealed no obvious abnormality.

GOLD COAST CAPTAIN, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock,  will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

EMPEROR WARRIOR (HS Gill) jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.

FRANCES (App CK Khaw) had to check shortly after the start to avoid the heels of JUMBO STAR (HK Cheng) which rolled inwards.

FRANCES was taken wider passing the 900M when RANT AND RAVE (M Yusri) rolled out.

App S Saddam and Jockey S Anandan, the riders of LETHAL WEAPON and ULTIMATE HERO respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of LETHAL WEAPON revealed that the gelding had bled and ULTIMATE HERO revealed no obvious abnormality.    LETHAL WEAPON will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ANAK WARRIOR (App P Haris) and GET THE LOTSKI (KC Wong) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that RANT AND RAVE had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

MR DAVID (App P Haris) jumped away awkwardly outwards and shortly after the start, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of SING EXPRESS (S Muniandy).

EASTER MATE (M Yusri) was difficult to settle in the early stages and passing the 1400M, had to check to avoid the heels of LAUGHING BUFFALO (C Goon) and thereafter, continued to pull very hard and was difficult to settle.

DISCRETELY RED (App S Saddam) which was also over-racing, shifted in passing the 1200M, causing EASTER MATE to be steadied and lost ground.

INDOMITABLE SPEED (KC Wong) had to be steadied and shifted out passing the 300M to obtain clear running.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of DIXIELAND ROCK reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of DIXIELAND ROCK and LAUGHING BUFFALO which was impounded, revealed no obvious abnormality.

OCULIST which was down 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to race.

OCULIST (J Chuah) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and passed fit to start.

OCULIST broke down passing the 400M, dislodging Jockey J Chuah, who was exempted from weighing in.  The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that OCULIST had fractured its near fore fetlock and as such, was humanely euthanized.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ROYAL EXPLORER (O Chavez) and HONGCHEN (App S Hafis) revealed no obvious abnormality.

GRAND SHOW which was up 19kgs in body weight since its last run, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to race.

MAGICAL PARK (KC Wong) stood when the gates were released and was steadied shortly after the start to avoid the heels of RED EASTERN (App R Nuqman) which dipped on jumping and shifted outward.

The saddle on DETERMINE TO WIN (WK Yan) slipped backwards shortly after the start.

PEACH BOWL (HK Cheng) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards questioned Jockey KC Wong, the rider of MAGICAL PARK into the gelding’s apparent poor performance today.  Jockey KC Wong explained that after being steadied at the start, MAGICAL PARK failed to respond to his riding and he used the whip on several occasions passing the 1200M.   He also stated that MAGICAL PARK was under pressure throughout the race and when being ridden out with the whip in the straight, the gelding failed to respond to his riding.   His explanations were noted.

Post-race veterinary examinations of DETERMINE TO WIN, GOOD TASTE (M Yusri) and MAGICAL PARK revealed no obvious abnormality.

NEVERUNCONDITIONAL (CK Tan) had its head turned to the outside when the gates were released and jumped away awkwardly.

GOLDEN COIN (S Salee) and CAVATINA (App P Mogun) were both slow into stride.

D’GREAT LORD (J De Souza) had to be steadied on several occasions from the 900M to the 800M to avoid the heels of MIROTIC (App A Azizi) which was shifting ground in and out.

Jockeys WK Yan, CK Tan and J Daniel, the riders of VICTORY MARCH, NEVERUNCONDITIONAL and MILITARY STAR respectively, all reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of VICTORY MARCH and NEVERUNCONDITIONAL revealed no obvious abnormality and MILITARY STAR returned with respiratory distress.   As such, MILITARY STAR will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of D’GREAT LORD revealed no obvious abnormality and MIROTIC returned broken-winded.   As such, MIROTIC will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

1ST FEBRUARY 2020 – PENANG TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2020

A report dated 19th February 2020 (V20/020) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 2 bottles of coded urine samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 3rd February 2020 for analysis under MRA Rules and Regulations.   No prohibited substances were detected.


GENERAL REPORT – PRTC

PANEL OF STEWARDS’ INQUIRY INTO THE RIDING AND HANDLING OF “MARTELLO”, RIDDEN BY APPRENTICE JOCKEY CT LEE IN RACE 8 (R247) – CLASS 5(B) – 1400M(sc) – 1st DAY, SUNDAY, 16th FEBRUARY 2020 – PERAK FEBRUARY MEETING 2020.

At the conclusion of an inquiry today, App CT Lee, the rider of MARTELLO, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Mr. Lim Hoon Seng and Trainer C Robert, the trainer of MARTELLO, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

The particulars of the charge are that:

  1. From about the 1200M to the 800M, he made no effort to get MARTELLO into a better racing position closer to the rail, when he had opportunity to do so;
  2. From about the 800M to the 400M, he continued to race MARTELLO unnecessarily wide.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App CT Lee’s guilty plea, disciplinary record and mitigating factors.   App CT Lee was suspended from riding in races for a period of six (6) months, with effect from Monday, 24th February 2020 and to expire on Sunday, 23rd August 2020, both dates inclusive.  In addition, he was fined a sum of RM10,000/-   He was advised of his right of appeal (1.05pm)

PRE-RACE BLOOD TEST – 1ST DAY, SUNDAY, 16th FEBRUARY 2020

PERAK FEBRUARY MEETING 2020

The report dated 16th February 2020 (V20/04) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 132 coded blood samples were received from the above mentioned race meeting for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.   All samples were analyzed and none failed the pre-race testing criteria.

SECOND CHANCE (S Anandan) was slow into stride.

Racing to the 300M, TOP TURF (App SN Shiva) which was laying in, shifted in, resulting in FORTUNE SPIRIT (App I Firdzriel) being taken inwards and passing the 250M, TOP TURF continued to shift in, resulting in FORTUNE SPIRIT being taken inwards again.   App SN Shiva, the rider of TOP TURF in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Mr. K Coetzee was shown the vision of the incidents in the straight and advised that although he has straightened his mount in the first incident, he should have make a greater effort to keep his mount under better control.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by App I Firdzriel, the rider of FORTUNE SPIRIT, placed 3rd against TOP TURF, placed 2nd  on grounds of alleged interference between the 300M and the 100M. 

After considering all the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race.  The objection was overruled and the results stood.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SECOND CHANCE and IKING (J De Souza) revealed that these geldings had returned lame near fore and lame near hind respectively.  Both these geldings will be required to pass a test each (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.   KING’S ORDER (SU Lim) which returned broken-winded, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of D’GREAT MAGIC (R Shafiq) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer Evert van Breukelen, the trainer of SOLID BRISK (App S Hafis) into that gelding’s improved performance today.  He stated that SOLID BRISK was better-suited by the 1200M in today’s race and had drawn well.  His explanations were noted.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of DARK EXPRESS reported that his mount was making respiratory noises.  A post-race veterinary examination of DARK EXPRESS revealed no obvious abnormality.

PENDRAGON PRINCESS (App SN Shiva) jumped away awkwardly and threw its head up shortly after the start.   App SN Shiva, the rider of PENDRAGON PRINCESS in the presence of his Trainer, Mr. K Coetzee was shown the vision of the start and advised that he must ensure that his mounts get their best possible jump and to ride in a manner to leave no room for query.

Jockey S Anandan, the rider of MACARTHUR reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of MACARTHUR revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards questioned Jockey C Goon, the rider of IPOH DASH into the reasons he lost ground between the 800M to the 600M. Jockey C Goon explained that between the 800M to the 600M, he urged IPOH DASH hands and heels, but it failed to respond to his riding until at about the 400M, when he rode with the whip, the gelding finished the race off fairly.  His explanations were noted.

The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of MORALES into the poor performance of MORALES today.  Trainer K Coetzee could offer no tangible explanation and he was advised to report back to the Stewards should he find anything amiss with the gelding during the week.  MORALES which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

ASPREY (App S Saddam) clipped the heels of TRIPLE ONE D’GREAT (App L De Souza) at the 700M and lost ground, resulting in JULIUS CAESAR (App S Hafis) which was following, having to take evasive action.   D’GREAT OCEAN (J De Souza) and VOYAGER (App CK Khaw) were hampered as a consequence.

OVERSEER (App S Rosmizan) and RAISE ME UP (App P Haris) jumped away awkwardly.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry today, App P Haris, the rider of RAISE ME UP in the presence of his acting Trainer, Trainer PK Leong pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding RAISE ME UP over the final 200M, he shifted out under whip-riding, resulting in LUCK HAPPY (App SN Shiva) having to check at about the 100M and he continued to shift outwards and  bumped ALASAMO (App CT Lee) at the winning post.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App P Haris’s guilty plea, disciplinary record and mitigating factors.   As App P Haris held an apprentice jockey’s license at the Penang and Perak Turf Clubs only, he was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, with effect from Monday, 13th January 2020 and to expire on Sunday, 16th February 2020, both days inclusive, which is Penang, 1st February 2020 and Perak, 16th February 2020.   He was advised of his right of appeal (3.45pm)

INDOMITABLE SPEED shifted out again approaching the 100M, resulting in TONGARIRO having to be steadied.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by App WW Cheah, the rider of TONGARIRO placed 2ND against RACER KING (KC Wong), the winner on grounds of alleged interference over the final 200M.  After considering all the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race.  The objection was overruled and the Judge’s results stood.

Post-race veterinary examinations of LUCKY GIANT and ALL SERENE (C Goon) revealed no obvious abnormality and PURPLE RAIN LADY (App CT Lee) returned with epiglottis entrapment.    As such, PURPLE RAIN LADY will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet) before being declared to race again.

Acting on veterinary advice that TAFFETAS had colic and MACARTHUR  had sustained bruised both knees, the Panel of Stewards ordered their withdrawal at 6.00pm  Both these horses will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

NOVA SWISS (HS Gill) which had sustained a cut on its right ear behind the barrier, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was declared unfit to start.  The Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of NOVA SWISS at 6.24pm and the gelding will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

SUN LION (HK Cheng) hung out from the 800M until entering the straight.

ANDADO (App S Hafis) raced greenly passing the 800M and had to be steadied on several occasions.

The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey M Yusri to replace Jockey Z Khairil as the rider of POLO MASTER when the latter was medically stood down.

RAMZES (S Salee) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was found to be lame off fore.  The Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.24pm and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Acting on veterinary advice that POLO MASTER (M Yusri) which was fractious and had sustained a bruised left flank, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.28pm and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

JUSTICE GRACE (J Chuah) which was difficult to be loaded, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 3.33pm and will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again. 

MAGICAL PARK (KC Wong) jumped away awkwardly and slow to begin.

ELITE KINGDOM (C Goon) was slow into stride.

NEVERUNCONDITIONAL (HS Gill) jumped away awkwardly.

The saddle on DETERMINE TO WIN (WK Yan) slipped backwards shortly after the start, which was confirmed by the Panel of Stewards.

DETERMINE TO WIN rolled in passing the 900M and as a result, tightened NEVERUNCONDITIONAL onto DARK EXPRESS (SU Lim) which lost its position.  After viewing the films and considering the saddle on DETERMINE TO WIN had slipped, placing its rider at a disadvantage, the Panel of Stewards took no further action.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey HS Gill, the rider of NEVERUNCONDITIONAL placed 4th  against DETERMINE TO WIN  (WK Yan), placed 2nd on grounds of alleged interference from the 900M to the 800M.  After considering all the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race.  The objection was overruled and the Judge’s results stood.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SUPER GOOD (KC Wong) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Passing the 800M, MIGHTY PHOENIX laid out, causing SOLID BRISK to race wider.
