KING OF GLORY, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore cannon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

EKRAAR PHOENIX (S Ruzaini) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

SHYLOCK (S Saddam) and SUPREME SUCCESS (App H Haikal) were both slow into stride.

HENG XING (SU Lim) was obliged to race wide in the early stages.

BLACK TAIPAN (App SN Shiva) was obliged to race wide at the bend.

App H Haikal, the rider of SUPREME SUCCESS reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of SUPREME SUCCESS revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of DOGE TO THE MOON (App A Nazir) revealed no obvious abnormality.

An Inquiry into the riding and handling of DOGE TO THE MOON will be held on a date to be fixed.

RACE 2 (R1109)       CLASS 5 (A) – 1600m (lc)       

KING’S SPEECH, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised both fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Acting on a report from the Starter that ROCK N ROLL (R Rueven) was unable to be boxed, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1.34pm and the gelding will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.

MASTER JIANGMEN (App N Shahronnizam) and A BEAUTIFUL MIND (HS Gill) were obliged to race wide at the turn.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SUCCESS STREET (HK Cheng) and MASTER JIANGMEN revealed no obvious abnormality whilst FEEL THE FIRE (App SN Shiva) had returned lame off fore and having cast its off fore plate.  FEEL THE FIRE will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that COLONEL CHIEF (KC Wong) returned having cast its off fore plate.

The Panel of Stewards opened an Inquiry into the riding and handling of SUCCESS STREET.  Evidence were taken from Trainer S Cook, the trainer of SUCCESS STREET and Jockey HK Cheng, the rider of SUCCESS STREET.

Jockey HK Cheng, the rider of SUCCESS STREET was charged for a contravention of MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. 

The particulars of the charge are that:

1)  from about 1200M-mark to the 600M-mark, he sat against his mount and made insufficient effort to maintain his position to race behind TIN’S MACHINE (SU Lim). 

2)  approaching the 400M-mark, he failed to ride his mount with sufficient vigour and determination to the end of the race.

The Panel of Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a date to be fixed to enable Jockey HK Cheng to produce his witnesses.

Emergency acceptors MAGIC PLAYER and WINNING SMILES  were withdrawn due to a capacity field,

TILSWORTH MICK which was up 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

PURE PERFECTION (SU Lim) and YULONG DREAM (App P Haris) were obliged to race wide at the turn.

PURE PERFECTION and AUSSIE EAGLE (App T Ammar) drifted out in the straight and finished the race wide.

Approaching the 400M-mark, SILVER JOY (KC Tham) had to switch in from the heels of KOTA RANGER (KC Wong) to obtain a clear running.

PURE PERFECTION which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

App H Haikal, the rider of ASIAN JET reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of ASIAN JET revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of PURE PERFECTION and TILSWORTH MICK (App SN Shiva) revealed no obvious abnormality.

An Inquiry into the riding and handling of ASIAN JET was adjourned to a date to be fixed to enable App H Haikal, the rider of ASIAN JET for his master (Trainer HY Cheng) to be present to represent him.

Emergency acceptor LIM’S HOPEFULLY was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

JULIUS CAESAR (App A Nazir) jumped awkwardly.

GALAXY LAW (App M Ekdihar) was obliged to race wide at the turn.

At about the final 100M-mark, GALAXY LAW drifted out under pressure.

Jockey R Rueven and App H Haikal, the riders of GEORGETOWN and RAAYAN respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of GEORGETOWN and RAAYAN revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of GALAXY LAW revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

SECRET AGENT which was down 45kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

TALKINGTALKINGGURU (KC Wong) and ALWAYS INNOCENT (HS Gill) were both examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.

SUPER HERO (App A Nazir) jumped awkwardly and brushed the outside gate.

GOLD PLAN (S Saddam) was obliged to race wide at the turn and thereafter, hung out in the straight and finished the race wide.

SECRET AGENT (App SN Shiva) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of ALWAYS INNOCENT reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of ALWAYS INNOCENT revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of TALKINGTALKINGGURU revealed no obvious abnormality.

When questioned with regards to his riding of TALKINGTALKINGGURU, Jockey KC Wong stated that his instructions were to get a good jump and ride in a midfield position.  Trainer B Dean, the trainer of TALKINGTALKINGGURU confirmed the instructions and stated that the gelding was running for the first time under him and advised Jockey KC Wong to allow the gelding to race on its merits.   Their explanations were noted, however, the Panel of Stewards advised Jockey KC Wong that he should ride all his mounts out in a manner so as to leave no room for query.

BOSS NINE NINE, a course scratching as it had skin allergy, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Acting on veterinary advice that CHINO DINERO (HS Gill) was exhibiting signs of heat stress, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.40pm and the gelding will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

GENERATION M (App T Ammar) which cast its off fore plate behind the barriers, had to be reshod.   Whilst re-shoeing, the bridle and the pacifier came off and had to be re-fitted.  The Veterinary Surgeon stated that they have difficulty re-fixing the ear-muffs and the pacifier.   With the consent of Trainer R Lines, GENERATION M was permitted to race without the said gears.

JAPAN CAPTAIN (App SN Shiva) jumped awkwardly outwards and brushed PROVOCATEUR (HK Cheng).

JAPAN CAPTAIN was racing keenly in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 300M-mark, STRAP MARKS (S Ruzaini) commenced to lay out.

Approaching the 200M-mark, Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of STRAP MARKS dropped his whip and he was warned that a repetition may lead to a penalty being imposed in future.

App S Shazmin, the rider of WASHINGTON reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of WASHINGTON revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of I’M SMART GREY (S Saddam) revealed no obvious abnormality and GOLD SKY EXPRESS (SU Lim) revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore.   As such, GOLD SKY EXPRESS will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that GENERATION M had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

An Inquiry into the riding and handling of HORSE KING was adjourned to a date to be fixed to enable App H Haikal, the rider of HORSE KING for his master (Trainer HY Cheng) to be present to represent him.

BALIN had sustained a stone  bruised near fore.  RAHOTU had sustained sore back and KIPEH had sustained bruised near fore fetlock whilst SIVAJI ROCKET had sustained a bruised near hind fetlock.   Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

FORTUNE STAR which was down 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

UNDER OATH (App S Shazmin) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

Emergency acceptors KING POWER and ELITE SAINT were withdrawn due to a capacity field.

KNIGHT LOVE which was up 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

VILLAGE STAR (How Yang) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped CHOSEN ONE (HK Cheng).

NO MORE DELAY (SU Lim) and BRANDENBURG (HS Gill) bumped on jumping.

Passing the 1100M-mark, ZAC ACE (R Rueven) ducked out and resulting in FA FA STAR (S Ruzaini) having to steady.   Thereafter, ZAC ACE buck on several occasions and took no part in the race.   As such, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

GHOST MARI (KC Tham) was obliged to race wide at the turn.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ZAC ACE revealed no obvious abnormality and returned having cast its off fore plate, whilst THUNDER SPIRIT (App H Haikal) revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress.   As such, THUNDER SPIRIT will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BEAT THE LIGHT (App P Haris) returned having cast its off hind plate.

23rd November 2024 – PERAK NOVEMBER MEETING 2024

The report dated 5th December 2024 (V24/189) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 28 coded urine and 28 sets of coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 23rd November 2024, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.  No prohibited substances were detected.

JOCKEY URINE SAMPLES:

30th November 2024 – PERAK NOVEMBER MEETING 2024

The report dated 12th December 2024 (V24/193) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 27 coded urine and 29 sets of coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 30th November 2024, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.  No prohibited substances were detected.

JOCKEY URINE SAMPLES:                   

30th November 2024 – PERAK NOVEMBER MEETING 2024

The report dated 12th December 2024 (V24/194) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that two (2) coded urine samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 30th November 2024, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.  No prohibited substances were detected.


The Senior Veterinary Surgeon of Perak Turf Club reported that the following horse had undergone corrective surgery at the Perak Equine Hospital on 9th October 2024 and as such, will be required to pass a Steward’s Embargo Test before being declared to race again.

Acting on a report from the Veterinary Officer that the EI vaccination status of ALWAYS INNOCENT was not current, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of ALWAYS INNOCENT at 11.55am.   Trainer EP Tan was fined RM1,000/- under MRA Regulation 20.3.1 as read with MRA Regulation 20.6 for failing to ensure that the vaccination status of ALWAYS INNOCENT is updated.

HAPPY THIRTYNINE (S Saddam) and BOSSKU (HK Cheng) were examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to race.

CITIZEN (App P Haris) and BAKUTEH (HS Gill) were slow into stride.

BOSSKU was obliged to race wide on the turn.

WASHINGTON (App S Shazmin) had a tendency to hang in in the straight.

Post-race veterinary examinations of CITIZEN revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and SUPER WHIRLWIND (S Ruzaini) revealed no obvious abnormality.   CITIZEN will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

SUPER HERO which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

CHAR KWAY TEOW (HS Gill) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

Acting on a report from the Starter that PURPLE RAIN (App N Shahronnizam) was unable to be boxed, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.02pm and the gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

CHAR KWAY TEOW which was racing keenly in the early stages, was shifting out away from the whip in the concluding stages.

Shortly after the start, NOVA FACTOR (S Ruzaini) rolled out, carrying WAR FRONTIER (S Saddam) outwards.   At the same time, BRANDENBURG (HS Gill) shifted in shortly after the start, resulting in THE BOSS (HK Cheng) being crowded for room and having to steady, losing ground.   Jockey HS Gill, the rider of BRANDENBURG and Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of NOVA FACTOR were both shown the video of the incident and were both warned to exercise more care when shifting ground in future, failing which action may be taken.  VILLAGE WARRIOR (KC Tham) which was following, had to steady.   WAR FRONTIER continued to race keenly at the backstraight and was difficult to settle.

OCEAN LAW (KC Wong) was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

A post-race veterinary examination of THE BOSS revealed no obvious abnormality. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that CAPTAIN PEGASUS (App SN Shiva) had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

A BEAUTIFUL MIND (HS Gill) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped KING’S SPEECH (S Saddam).

NOW PICTURE (App SN Shiva) was slow into stride and showed no early pace, despite being urged.

BANG BINGO (Y Aify) was obliged to race wide at the backstraight.

DRAGON WHISPERER (AL Da Silva) had a tendency to lay out in the straight.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of HENG XING reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of HENG XING revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of A BEAUTIFUL MIND and NOW PICTURE revealed no obvious abnormality.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of COLONEL CHIEF (KC Wong) today, Trainer K Coetzee stated that the gelding was badly drawn at its last start and was unable to be in handy.   Today, due to the good barrier draw, the gelding managed to jump with the pace, which in his opinion, had contributed to the gelding’s improved performance today.   His explanations were noted.

GEORGETOWN was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.20pm, as the gelding’s status for Japanese B Encephalitis is not current.  Trainer K Coetzee was fined RM1,000/- in terms of MRA Regulation 20.3.2(b) as read with MRA Regulation 20.6.

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey SU Lim to replace App S Shazmin, as the rider of AUSSIE EAGLE when the latter was stood down by the Club Medical Officer.

The Panel of Stewards permitted App SN Shiva to replace App P Haris as the rider of LIM’S HOPEFULLY, when App P Haris was unable to make the carded weight.   App P Haris was fined RM500/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 107(10) for failing to make the carded weight on LIM’S HOPEFULLY.

Jockey HK Cheng was questioned regarding his ride on BOY XANDER today.  He stated that his instruction was to ride with cover in the 2nd or 3rd position, however the horse was keen and difficult to settle.   After reviewing the video, the Panel of Stewards warned Jockey HK Cheng that he should ride all his mounts out so as to leave no room for query.

STARDICE which was up 25kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

ARAGON PEGASUS (AK Lim) and WASHINGTON (App S Shazmin) were examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that VAIN TYCOON return having cast its off fore plate.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of JULIUS CAESAR today, Trainer K Coetzee stated that at its last start on the 20th of October 2024, apparently JULIUS CAESAR struck the near side gate on jumping and showed no interest thereafter.   Following that, JULIUS CAESAR has been working well and did a good barrier practice and in his opinion, had contributed to the improved performance today.   His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

The state of track was upgraded to “Good” after the running of this race.

MAVERICK (SU Lim) and CIRCUIT STAR (HS Gill) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

On entering the home straight, MAVERICK drifted in away from the whip.

Passing the 300M, GOD’S GIFT (App M Ekdihar) and VILLAGE TYCOON (App P Haris) brushed on a number of occasions.  The whip of App M Ekdihar was accidentally struck off by App P Haris whilst racing tight.

The saddle on SUPREME SUCCESS (A Suriya) slipped back during the running.

MARS GO (S Salee) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of D’GREAT TIMING (App S Shazmin), Trainer R Lines stated that in his opinion, the 1600M distance, a weaker field and the soft track had contributed to its improved performance today.   His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

Post-race veterinary examinations of MARS GO, SUCCESS STREET (KC Low) and CIRCUIT STAR revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SUPREME SUCCESS returned having cast its near fore plate.

D’GREAT MAGIC, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

BLACK TAIPAN (App H Haikal) jumped awkwardly, dipped and shortly thereafter, was tightened for room between D’GREAT SWIFT (App S Shazmin) and TAIWAN CAPTAIN (HS Gill) and was slow into stride.   App H Haikal, the rider of BLACK TAIPAN was shown the vision of the start and was advised that he must endeavour to give sufficient reins to his mount on jumping.

MIGHT IS RIGHT (App N Shahronnizam) and TIN’S MACHINE (S Salee) were obliged to race wide at the backstraight.

BULLSEYE (Y Aify) raced keenly in the early stages.

Passing the 200M, TAIWAN CAPTAIN was eased down and a post-race veterinary examination on the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality.   Jockey HS Gill, the rider of TAIWAN CAPTAIN reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  TAIWAN CAPTAIN which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of BLACK TAIPAN revealed no obvious abnormality and the gelding was impounded.

Passing the 100M-mark, FLAMING DASH (App S Shazmin) and LIM’S HOPEFULLY (App SN Shiva) raced tight and brushed.

Post-race veterinary examinations of TRAFALGAR (App T Ammar), FLAMING DASH, CHINO DINERO (SU Lim) and LIM’S HOPEFULLY revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that THAI BAHT (A Suriya) returned having cast its near fore and near hind plates.

ROCK N ROLL and WINNING SMILE, both are course scratching.  ROCK N ROLL had sustained bruised off fore fetlock whilst WINNING SMILE sustained bruised both fore fetlocks.  Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptor USA CAPTAIN was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

MASTER JIANGMEN (SU Lim) was slow into stride. 

BAKUTEH (App M Ekdihar) jumped awkwardly.

HAZARD (Y Aify) and PENANG MAN (R Narendran) drifted out in the straight and finished the race wide.

DIAMOND PEGASUS (App Z Syafifie) was obliged to race wide rounding the turn.

From the 400M to about the 200M, DIAMOND PEGASUS and WHITE RABBIT (S Saddam) raced tight and brushed on several occasions.

The Clerk-of-Scales reported that HARI HARI HAPPY (App A Nazir) weighed in more than a half kilograms less than the weight he weighed out.   Acting under MRA Rule 121(2), the Panel of Stewards disqualified the 2nd-placed getter, HARI HARI HAPPY and the Judges’ results were amended as follows:-

1st – CHOSEN ONE (AK Lim)

2nd – MAGIC PLAYER (S Ruzaini)

3rd – YULONG DREAM (HS Gill)

4th – BAKUTEH (App M Ekdihar)

At the conclusion of an inquiry today, App A Nazir, the rider of HARI HARI HAPPY in the presence of his master Trainer F Maynard and Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of HARI HARI HAPPY, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 121(2) in that he returned to Scales more than half a kilogram underweight, as the rider of HARI HARI HAPPY in this race, which was placed 2nd and subsequently, disqualified.

When deciding on a penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration his guilty plea, riding record and mitigating factors.  App A Nazir was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days.   Acting on the provisions of MRA Rule 48(5), the Panel of Stewards deferred the commencement of App A Nazir’s suspension to take effect from Monday, 28th October 2024 and to expire on Sunday, 3rd November 2024, both dates inclusive.  In addition, he was also fined a sum of RM5,000/- and was advised of his right of appeal (6.05pm).

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of CHOSEN ONE, Trainer W Lim stated that in his opinion, the weaker field, the soft going and the slow pace of this race suit the gelding today.  His explanations were noted, however his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SUPER WHIRLWIND (App SN Shiva) and DIAMOND PEGASUS revealed no obvious abnormality.

YES BOSSY (HS Gill) was obliged to race wide at the bend.

FADABOY shifted in away from the whip on entering the straight.

JULIUS CAESAR which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

App M Ekdihar and Jockey HS Gill, the riders of FADABOY and YES BOSSY, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of FADABOY and YES BOSSY revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that COLONEL CHIEF (S Saddam) returned having cast its off fore plate.

Trainer HY Cheng was fined a sum of RM2,000/- for a contravention of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 134(2)(b) for negligence in that he had failed to ensure that BE YOURSELF which finished 3rd placing was presented to the post-race samples collections area immediately after the running of this race, as required.

Trainer CC Ooi was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to ensure that his horse RAGNAR (S Ruzaini) was presented to the Holding Yard within the stipulated time.   Acting on a report from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory that they were unable to do the pre-race tests on time due to the delay,    the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of RAGNAR at 3.13pm.

At the start, SUSPICIOUS MIND (A Suriya) was tightened for room and had to steady when LOOKS GOOD (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards and CAPTAIN PEGASUS (App Z Syafifie) jumped awkwardly inwards. 

Passing the 700M-mark, LOOKS GOOD had to steady when tightened for room when  CAPTAIN PEGASUS rolled inward.   App Z Syafifie, the rider of CAPTAIN  PEGASUS was shown the video of the incident in the presence of his master Trainer K Coetzee and was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.

TIME TRAVEL (HK Cheng) was obliged to race wide at the bend.

A post-race veterinary examination of TIME TRAVEL revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

PURPLE RAIN which was down 17kgs and LISBOA STAR which was up 22kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.

Trainer T Asogan was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of blinkers on FOUNTAIN OF FAME within the stipulated time.

Acting on veterinary advice that TILSWORTH MALI (SU Lim) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.30pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

CASTLE OCEAN (How Yang) was obliged to race wide at the bend.

Passing the 200M-mark, JAPAN CAPTAIN (App SN Shiva) shifted in away from the whip.

CASTLE OCEAN which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

App S Shazmin, the rider of WASHINGTON reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of WASHINGTON revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of LISBOA STAR (S Saddam) revealed no obvious abnormality.

At a subsequent inquiry, Jockey HS Gill, the rider of FOUNTAIN OF FAME pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that approaching the 1000M-mark, he permitted his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear of RETALLICA, resulting in PURPLE RAIN which was racing on its inside having to check and lose ground.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey HS Gill’s guilty plea, disciplinary record and mitigating factors.   Jockey HS Gill was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days, effective Monday, 21st October 2024 and to expire on Sunday, 27th October 2024, both dates inclusive.   He was informed of his right of appeal (5.40pm).

SPEEDY SWALLOW (App H Haikal) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

SWALLOWS STRIKE (AK Lim) was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

BEYOND SACRED (HK Cheng) was eased up passing the 100M.    Jockey HK Cheng reported that his mount was not striding out freely.   The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BEYOND SACRED returned lame near fore and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Over the concluding stages, BULL RUN (A Suriya) tried to savage SHYLOCK at the winning post.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SILENT PRINCE (S Saddam) and VILLAGE TYCOON (App P Haris) revealed no obvious abnormality. 

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of CIRCUIT STAR (App A Nazir) today, Trainer T Asogan was unable to give any tangible explanations regarding the gelding’s improved performance.  His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running and he was informed that should the gelding proves inconsistent in future, may result in action being taken.

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of SILVER JOY reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of SILVER JOY revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockey Y Aify, the rider of ADIRA PEGASUS was questioned regarding his ride.  He stated that his instruction was to sit 4/5 and make the move in the straight.   After reviewing the race, the Panel of Stewards were not entirely satisfied with his explanation and informed him that  he should ride all his mounts out so as to leave no room for query, failing which action would be taken in future.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ADIRA PEGASUS (Y Aify) and BLACK TAIPAN (App H Haikal) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that JJ STAR (App S Shazmin) had bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of KALA GHODA (L De Souza) today, Trainer L Moy stated that in his opinion, the gelding was well-handicapped  in the race and its liking for Ipoh track, had contributed to the gelding’s improved performance today.  His explanations were noted, however his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

The report dated 26th September 2024 (V24/151) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 28 coded urine and 32 sets of coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 14th September 2024, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.  No prohibited substances were detected.

As Jockey Y Aify had encountered transport problem whilst enroute to the Club, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey HK Cheng to replace him as the rider of BULLSEYE.

ASIAN JET (R Rueven) and NOVA PHOENIX (App H Haikal) were examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and were passed fit to start.

Acting on veterinary advice that DIAMOND PEGASUS (S Ruzaini) had sustained a nail prick near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.11pm and the mare will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

PENANG STAR (App SN Shiva) was slow into stride.

YULONG DREAM (KC Low) jumped awkwardly.

NOVA PHOENIX was difficult to settle in the early and middle stages.

BULLSEYE (HK Cheng) was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 400M-mark, PENANG STAR had a tendency to drift out, finishing the race wide.

Jockey HK Cheng, the rider of BULLSEYE reported that passing the 300M-mark, his whip got entangled with his rein, resulting in his mount throwing its head up on several occasions.   He was shown the video of this incident and was advised that he must ride all his mounts out so as to leave no room for query.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SECRET AGENT, BULLSEYE and NOVA PHOENIX revealed no obvious abnormality.

CHER (Y Aify) and D’GREAT TIMING (App S Shazmin) were both slow into stride.

Passing the 1100M-mark, GOLD EIGHTY-THREE (S Ruzaini) and LAGI BOLEH (J Chuah) brushed and shortly thereafter, GOLD EIGHTY-THREE had to steady when LAGI BOLEH rolled in.

At approximately the 1000M-mark, FAST AND SUPER (App T Ammar) had to be steadied when ULURU (App Z Syafifie) rolled inwards.   Shortly thereafter, CHOSEN ONE (AK Lim) had to steady when LAGI BOLEH rolled in.

GOLD EIGHTY-THREE was obliged to race wide rounding the turn.

Passing the 100M-mark, ULURU had to steady outwards over the heels of FAST AND SUPER which rolled out.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of GEORGETOWN reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of GEORGETOWN revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of GOLD EIGHTY-THREE revealed no obvious abnormality.

The state of track was upgraded to “Yielding” after the running of this race.

AUTUMN BLITZ, a course scratching as it had sustained stone bruise off fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

STAR LEGEND (App P Haris) which could not be boxed, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 3.22pm.   The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

FLYING BABY (App H Haikal) was slow into stride and dipped thereafter.

HARVEYWALLBANGER (AK Lim) was trapped wide in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 300M-mark, GOLDEN SHOW (App Z Syafifie) shifted out over the heels of ROGER ROGER (A Suriya) to obtain a clear running and in so doing, carried THUNDER SPIRIT (HS Gill) outwards onto HARVEYWALLBANGER and continued to drift out, finishing the race wide.   App Z Syafifie, the rider of GOLDEN SHOW, in the presence of his Employing Trainer K Coetzee was shown the video of this incident and was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future, failing which action may be taken against him in future.

Post-race veterinary examinations of FLYING BABY and HARVEYWALLBANGER revealed no obvious abnormality.

Acting on veterinary advice that GOOD LUCK CHARM (AK Lim) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.15pm and will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

FADABOY (R Rueven) and ST ALWYN (M Ganeesh) were slow into stride.

BRANDENBURG (HS Gill) and RETALLICA brushed shortly after the start.

JULIUS CAESAR (App Z Syafifie) jumped awkwardly.

FIRE AWAY (App P Haris) showed no early pace despite being urged.

At approximately the 1100M-mark, BRANDENBURG was tightened between STORM TO WIN (Y Aify) and THE WONDERBOLT (App S Shazmin) which rolled in.

BAGHDAD (S Ruzaini) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ST ALWYN and THE WONDERBOLT revealed no obvious abnormality. 

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of KNIGHT LOVE today, Trainer KF Wong stated that in his opinion, the apprentice’s claim and a weaker field had contributed to the gelding’s improved performance and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

Shortly after the start, PROVOCATEUR (SU Lim) had to steady when TILSWORTH MALI (A Suriya) rolled inwards.

KIPEH (App A Nazir) was obliged to race wide rounding the turn.

GOLD PLAN (HS Gill) was racing keenly in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 300M-mark, BAKUTEH (M Ganeesh) shifted in away from the whip.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of PURPLE RAIN reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises.  A post-race veterinary examination of PURPLE RAIN revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of GOLD PLAN and BAKUTEH revealed no obvious abnormality and KIPEH returned lame near fore.  As such, KIPEH will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards enquired into the riding of BAKUTEH by Jockey M Ganeesh today.   After hearing the explanations from Jockey M Ganeesh,  the Panel of Stewards were not entirely satisfied with his explanations, however he was warned to ride all his mounts out in a manner so as to leave no room for query.

Passing the 300M-mark, CHERISH was eased up when the rider felt something amiss with his mount.   A post-race veterinary examination of CHERISH revealed no obvious abnormality and the gelding which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockeys HK Cheng (BEYOND SACRED), L De Souza (FLYING SPIDER), R Rueven (TAIWAN CAPTAIN) and App Z Syafifie (MGR ROCKET), all reported that their mounts could not handle the going today.

A post-race veterinary examination of MGR ROCKET (App Z Syafifie) revealed no obvious abnormality. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that DIAMOND PEGASUS returned having cast its near hind plate.

BORN TO WIN, a course scratching as it had sustained laceration off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Approaching the 1100M-mark, MODRIC bucked badly, unbalancing its rider, Jockey S Salee who was dislodged.  SOMAR which was following, was hampered, unbalancing its rider, App A Azizi who was also dislodged.   BALIN (App P Haris) which was racing on the outside, had to take evasive action to avoid the fallen riders.  MODRIC will be  required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

App A Azizi was exempted from weighing-in and was sent to hospital for observations.   Jockey S Salee was stood down by the Club Medical Officer for the remainder of the day.

LAXON (S Hafis) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.  A post-race veterinary examination of LAXON revealed no obvious abnormality.  

The Panel of Stewards opened an inquiry into the running and handling of LAXON,   ridden by Jockey S Hafis.  After taking initial evidence from Jockey S Hafis and reviewing the video of the race, the Panel of Stewards adjourned the inquiry for  Jockey S Hafis to produce his witness at the date to be fixed.

EMPHATIC, a course scratching as it had sustained a swollen near hind, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Acting on veterinary advice that HEARTS OF GOLD (WW Cheah) had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.12pm.    The gelding will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey AK Lim to replace Jockey S Salee as the rider of BURGUNDY BUBBLES when the latter was medically stood down.

Acting on veterinary advice that DOCTOR GINGER (M Ganeesh) was lame off fore,  the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.44pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of THUNDER SPIRIT reported that his mount could not handle the going today.

Post-race veterinary examinations of LEGEND OF THE SUN (SU Lim) revealed that the gelding had returned with epiglottic entrapment and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again and THUNDER SPIRIT (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.  

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey S Hafis, the rider of FA FA STAR was found guilty to a charge for contravention of MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.  

The particulars of the charge are that:-

  • He failed to give sufficient reins to FA FA STAR to jump on terms with the field, resulting in FA FA STAR throwing its head up and losing considerable ground.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Hafis’s disciplinary record and mitigating factors.   Jockey S Hafis was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months, effective from Monday, 26th August 2024 and to expire on Friday, 25th October 2024, both dates inclusive.  In addition, he was fined the sum of RM15,000/-  (Malaysian Ringgit: Fifteen Thousand Only).  He was advised of his right of appeal (6.45pm).

LET’S COME ON BABY (KC Low) jumped awkwardly outwards. 

Passing the 200M-mark, LET’S COME ON BABY had to switch out over the heels of CASTLE OCEAN (J Chuah) and GREATEST ALL TIME (HK Cheng) to obtain clear running.

Jockeys Y Aify and AK Lim, the riders of IPOH KAIGEH and LEGACY FIGHTER respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of IPOH KAIGEH and LEGACY FIGHTER revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of CASTLE OCEAN revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of LANKARAN (App S Shazmin), Trainer S Hamilton stated that LANKARAN had been working well.   In her opinion, the apprentice allowance and going had contributed to the gelding’s improved performance.   Her attention is drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) pertaining to in-and-out running.

Emergency acceptor BALIN was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

Due to the Vet’s failure to endorse the EI vaccination 0status to be current on the equine passport of FA FA STAR (S Hafis) that was done on 10th August 2024 and confirmed by the Chief Veterinary Surgeon of SLTC, the Panel of Stewards treated this case as an exception,  and  permitted FA FA STAR to start today.  However, the Panel of Stewards will not allow horses under similar circumstances to race in future.

FA FA STAR brushed the outside gate on jumping.

ONE ABRACADABRA (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards, unbalancing its rider momentarily.

Passing the 300M-mark, AUTUMN BLITZ (AK Lim) shifted in away from the whip.

LUPIN (HS Gill) and ONE ABRACADABRA were obliged to race wide.

Jockey M Ganeesh, the rider of DOCTOR GINGER reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of DOCTOR GINGER revealed no obvious abnormality and had returned having cast its near fore plate.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that LUPIN that had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of ONE ABRACADABRA revealed no obvious abnormality.

Shortly after the start, TRINITY HONOR (M Ganeesh) had to steady when tightened for room when BLACK TAIPAN (S Ruzaini) shifted out and THE JEWELLER (S Saddam) shifted inwards.

CIRCUIT STAR (HS Gill) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

MAGICAL PARK was obliged to race wide on the bend.

TRINITY HONOR entered the straight wide and finished the race wide.

Jockey S Hafis, the rider of MAGICAL PARK reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of MAGICAL PARK revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SUPREME SUCCESS (S Salee) and THE JEWELLER revealed no obvious abnormality.

Trainer I Ismadi was questioned with regards to the improved performance of VILLAGE TYCOON today.   He explained that VILLAGE TYCOON was racing with a weaker field and the addition of blinkers had benefited its run today.  His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

As Trainer Ms S Hamilton was not on course today, she will be questioned with regards to the improved performance of LANKARAN on a date to be fixed.

The state of track was upgraded to “Yielding” after the running of this race.

ANOTHER SHOW which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

FLAMING DASH (App S Shazmin) and BEIJING STAR (HS Gill) were slow into stride.

ANOTHER SHOW (S Ruzaini) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey KC Low, the rider of YULONG DREAM, placed 3rd against UNLIMITED STAR (S Saddam), being declared the winner on grounds of alleged interference at the 200M-mark.  After considering all the evidence and reviewing the video, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race.  The objection was overruled and the Judges’ results stood.

App S Shazmin and Jockey HS Gill, the riders of FLAMING DASH and BEIJING STAR respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of FLAMING DASH and BEIJING STAR revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of MIGHT IS RIGHT (App N Shahronnizam) and ANOTHER SHOW revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an inquiry today, App Z Syafifie, the rider of MGR ROCKET in the presence of his master, Trainer K Coetzee, pleaded guilty  to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding MGR ROCKET at about the 200M-mark, he persevere using his whip on his right hand, resulting in his mount shifting inwards, carrying UNLIMITED STAR inwards and inconvenienced YULONG DREAM (KC Low) which was racing on the rails.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App Z Syafifie’s guilty plea, riding records and mitigating factors.   App Z Syafifie was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days.  Acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the Panel of Stewards deferred the suspension to take effect from Monday, 26th August 2024 and to expire on Sunday, 8th September 2024, both dates inclusive.   He was advised of his right of appeal (5.40pm).

MAVERICK (SU Lim) entered the straight wide.

Approaching the 100M-mark, NORTHERN STAR (S Ruzaini) was held up behind CAPTAIN PEGASUS (App Z Syafifie) and had to switch out for clear running.

SECRET AGENT was eased up from the 100M-mark when Jockey M Ganeesh felt something amiss with his mount.  A post-race veterinary examination of SECRET AGENT revealed no obvious abnormality.    Trainer KF Wong, the trainer of SECRET AGENT was advised to report back to the Stewards, should he finds anything amiss with the gelding during the week.   The gelding which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of CAVANA (S Ruzaini) revealed no obvious abnormality.

ALWAYS INNOCENT and JAPAN CAPTAIN which were up 16kgs and 17kgs respectively in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.

ALWAYS INNOCENT (HS Gill) and TILSWORTH MALI (M Ganeesh) were both examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.

On jumping, JAPAN CAPTAIN (S Saddam) and ZAZU (L De Souza) bumped heavily.

THE SWAN (App A Nazir) stumbled on jumping.

KIPEH (S Hafis) was slow into stride.

Passing the 1000M-mark, GENERATION M (SU Lim), ALWAYS INNOCENT and GOOD LUCK CHARM (AK Lim) raced tight.

KIPEH and TILSWORTH MALI raced wide on the bend.

At approximately the 200M-mark, GOOD LUCK CHARM switched outwards and carried TILSWORTH MALI wide.

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of ALWAYS INNOCENT reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of ALWAYS INNOCENT revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of KIPEH revealed that the mare had returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again and LET’S COME ON BABY (S Ruzaini) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Acting on veterinary advice that FIRE AWAY (S Ruzaini) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1.11pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

BAKUTEH (S Hafis) was slow into stride.

Near the 250M-mark, GEORGETOWN (R Rueven) had a tendency to shift in from the whip.

Jockey A Suriya, the rider of ELITE SAINT reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of ELITE SAINT revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

WINNING SMILE, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised both fore fetlocks, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

App N Shahronnizam was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 44(2) for failing to arrive on-course at least one hour prior to his ride on SUPER WHIRLWIND in this race.

CHERISH (R Rueven) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.

USA CAPTAIN (AM Aizat) was slow to begin.  

The Panel of Stewards opened an inquiry into the running and handling of USA CAPTAIN today.   Evidence were taken from Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of USA CAPTAIN and Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of USA CAPTAIN.   After reviewing all angles of the race and taking all evidence into consideration, Jockey AM Aizat was charged for a contravention of MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.  The inquiry was adjourned to a later date to enable Jockey AM Aizat to produce his witness.

At approximately the 700M-mark, AUSSIE EAGLE (S Ruzaini) ran up to the heels of ASIAN JET (A Suriya) which had to be steadied.

CHERISH was shifting in away from the whip in the home straight.

A post-race veterinary examination of PURPLE RAIN (S Saddam) revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of USA CAPTAIN revealed no obvious abnormality.  

Trainer P Lee was questioned with regards to the improved performance of THAI BAHT today.   The only explanation that he could offer is that in his opinion, the good track today suited THAI BAHT and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

BALIN had sustained sole bruised off fore whilst DOCTOR GINGER had sustained sole bruised near fore.   Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

STAR LEGEND (Y Aify) which could not be boxed, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.23pm.   The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

LUPIN (HS Gill) over-raced in the early and middle stages.

Upon straightening, STAR GLORY (App P Haris) shifted out from the whip, carrying CAVANA (KC Low) wide.  App P Haris was shown the video of this incident in the presence of his master, trainer K Coetzee and he is expected to stop using his whip in the left hand and straighten his mount, failing which action may be taken in future.

BORN TO WIN (AK Lim) was hanging out throughout.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that MR G (AM Aizat) returned having cast its off hind plate.

HOSAYLIAO broke down at approximately the 500M-mark.   LANKARAN (S Ruzaini) and FAST AND SUPER which were following, were slightly inconvenienced and had to take evasive action.

Jockey AK Lim, the rider of HOSAYLIAO was exempted from weighing in.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that HOSAYLIAO had dislocated its right shoulder and was humanely euthanized.
