RACE 1 (R0016) CLASS 5(B) – 1600m (lc)

The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey S Ruzaini to replace Jockey AK Lim, as the rider of HENG XING when the latter was medically stood down.

Acting on veterinary advice that EKRAAR PHOENIX (App SN Shiva) was lame near hind, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 12.39pm. EKRAAR PHOENIX will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

MIEJ (Y Aify) which stood as the start was affected, losing considerable ground, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

KOTA RANGER (App Z Syafifie) had a tendency to hang out in the straight.

SILVER STAR (KC Wong) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SILVER STAR and BLACK TAIPAN (AL Da Silva) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R0017) CLASS 5 (A) – 1600m (lc)

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted App SN Shiva to replace Jockey AK Lim, as the rider of FORTUNE STAR.

VILLAGE TYCOON (KC Tham) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

D’GREAT TIMING (S Ruzaini) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

CIRCUIT STAR (HS Gill) was racing keenly in the early and middle stages.

Passing 200M-mark, FORTUNE STAR (App SN Shiva) hung in under pressure.

Post-race veterinary examinations of VILLAGE TYCOON and BANG BINGO (App Z Syafifie) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that D’GREAT MAGIC (App S Shazmin) returned with respiratory distress and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

An Inquiry into the riding and handling of VILLAGE TYCOON will be held on a date to be fixed.

RACE 3 (R0018) CLASS 4(B) – 1600m (lc)

LEGEND OF THE SUN, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near hind fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

FOUNTAIN OF FAME (HS Gill) which cast its near fore plate at the Parade Ring, had to be re-shod, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

Acting on a report from the Starter that STAR LEGEND (App P Haris) was unable to boxed, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1.35pm. STAR LEGEND will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

MAVERICK (Y Aify) jumped awkwardly.

WISEMAN (S Ruzaini), JB KAINGEH (AL Da Silva) and SALAAM NAMASTEY (KC Wong) were slow into stride.

DISCRETELY RED (R Rueven) was racing keenly in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the 400M, SALAAM NAMASTEY switched out to obtain a clear running.

Jockey AL Da Silva, the rider JB KAINGEH eased his mount from the 400M when he felt something amiss. A post-race veterinary examination of JB KAINGEH revealed no obvious abnormality and the gelding which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

App A Nazir, the rider of LOOKS GOOD was shown the video of his ride and after hearing his explanations, the Panel of Stewards warned him that he must endeavour to ride all his mounts out in a manner so as to leave no room for query.

A post-race veterinary examination of WISEMAN revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Trainer SY Lim was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to remove the use of blinkers on STYLE OF DRAGON (App SN Shiva) within the stipulated time.

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey KC Low to replace App P Haris, as the rider of LIM’S HOPEFULLY when the latter was stood down by the Club Medical Officer.

LAGI BOLEH (R Rueven) and MGR ROCKET (App Z Syafifie) both stumbled shortly after jumping.

TALKINGTALKINGGURU (KC Wong) jumped awkwardly.

LIM’S HOPEFULLY (KC Low) and UNLIMITED STAR (How Yang) which both raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey How Yang, the rider of UNLIMITED STAR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of UNLIMITED STAR revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of LIM’S HOPEFULLY revealed no obvious abnormality.

Trainer SY Lim will be questioned regarding the improved performance of STYLE OF DRAGON.

An Inquiry into the riding and handling of BAKUTEH (App M Ekdihar) will be held on a date to be fixed.

Trainer HY Cheng was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on PERFECT MISSION (KC Tham).

HARI HARI HAPPY (App SN Shiva) jumped awkwardly and stumbled shortly after the start.

CAVANA (S Ruzaini) dipped shortly after jumping.

PERFECT MISSION and BOSSKU (KC Low) were both racing keenly in the early stages.

BOSS HENG HENG (KC Wong) had a tendency to hang out in the straight.

Passing the 400M, HARI HARI HAPPY drifted out under pressure and brushed RAAYAN (Y Aify).

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of YES BOSSY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of YES BOSSY revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of GOLDEN SHOW (App Z Syafifie) revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and BOSSKU revealed no obvious abnormality. As such, GOLDEN SHOW will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 6 (R0021) CLASS 4(A) – 1200m (sc)

CIANGO, TRINITY GENERAL, CHOSEN ONE, NOVA FACTOR and FAST AND FEARLESS, all are course scratching. CIANGO had sustained stone bruise near fore cannon. TRINITY GENERAL had sustained sore back whilst CHOSEN ONE and NOVA FACTOR had sustained stone bruised near fore respectively. FAST AND FEARLESS had sustained sole bruise near fore. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Trainer HY Cheng was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on KANTHAKA (KC Tham).

KANTHAKA which cast its off fore plate behind the barriers, had to be re-shod, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

GLORIOUS BISCUIT (How Yang) stumbled shortly after the start.

Over the concluding stages, KANTHAKA shifted out under pressure, carrying WAR FRONTIER (App A Nazir) wide.

Post-race veterinary examinations of BLEU MARINE (WW Cheah), GLORIOUS BISCUIT, SWEET LOVE (App M Ekdihar) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SWEET LOVE and SILENT BOSS (S Ruzaini) both returned having cast their near fore plates.

MEGA OCEAN (S Salee) showed no pace, despite being urged.

Post-race veterinary examinations of BURGUNDY BUBBLES (KC Wong) and MEGA OCEAN revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BURGUNDY BUBBLES returned having cast its off hind plate.

GOLD SKY EXPRESS, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

KIPEH which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

ALWAYS INNOCENT (App SN Shiva) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

KIPEH (J Chuah) and NOVA PHOENIX (App A Nazir) bumped on jumping.

HORSE KING (Y Aify) and WASHINGTON (App S Shazmin) were both obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 250M, KIPEH dipped.

Approaching 200M, BIG G (App M Ekdihar) shifted in away from the whip.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of SIEW YUK reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SIEW YUK revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of PURE PERFECTION (S Ruzaini), BIZAR WINS (HS Gill) and HORSE KING revealed no obvious abnormality.

MY BOSS, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore cannon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

CAVALLA COURT which was up 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

Trainer P Lee was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of blinkers on GALAXY LAW (R Rueven) within the stipulated time.

FLYING BABY (KC Low) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

STARDICE (App SN Shiva) was racing keenly in the early stages.

Approaching the 700M, GALAXY LAW had to steady when FLYING BABY rolled inwards slightly and shortly thereafter, GALAXY LAW was racing ungenerously on the inside of FLYING BABY until about to the 500M.

Passing the 150M, LET’S COME ON BABY (App M Ekdihar) and GALAXY LAW brushed.

Over the concluding stages, RAHOTU (App Z Syafifie) was held up for a run when GALAXY LAW rolled inwards and STARDICE rolled outwards.

Post-race veterinary examinations of CAVALLA COURT (Y Aify), STARDICE and SUPER DRAGON (How Yang) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon conducted an examination of the mouth of GALAXY LAW, which revealed no obvious abnormality.

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey J Chuah to replace App P Haris, as the rider of ZAC ACE.

STEADY BOSS which was down 20kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

STEADY BOSS (App SN Shiva) and TRUDAUGHTER (App M Ekdihar) were both slow into stride.

STEADY BOSS showed no early pace, despite being urged.

FIGHT TO WIN (KC Wong) drifted out passing the 700M.

COUNTRY LAW (KC Low) and FIGHT TO WIN raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 200M, FLEXI LAD (App Z Syafifie) drifted out under pressure, carrying SILVER WARRIOR (S Ruzaini) and TOM’S PHOENIX (R Rueven) wide and finished the race wide.

INVINCIBLE KINGDOM (WW Cheah) and STEADY BOSS, which both raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

GENERAL REPORT

POST-RACE ANALYSIS (EQUINE):

29^th DECEMBER – PENANG DECEMBER MEETING 2024

The report dated 9^thDecember (V24/210) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 20 coded urine and 22 sets of coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 30^th December 2024, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

JOCKEY URINE SAMPLES:

29^th DECEMBER – PENANG DECEMBER MEETING 2024

The report dated 9^th January (V24/211) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that two (2) coded urine samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 30^th December 2024, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

PERAK DECEMBER RACE MEETING 2024 – SATURDAY, 14^TH DECEMBER 2024 – RACE 6(R1113) CLASS 5(B) -1100M(sc)

The Panel of Stewards on Monday, 6^th January 2025 concluded an Inquiry into the riding and handling of HORSE KING, trained by Trainer HS Lim and ridden by App H Haikal

Evidence were taken from Trainer HS Lim and App H Haikal, in the presence of his Master Trainer HY Cheng and after reviewing all angles of the video, App H Haikal, the rider of HORSE KING was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

The particulars of the charge are that:

From the 1000M-mark to the 400M-mark, he failed to make sufficient effort to improve his position to race behind PROVOCATEUR (HK Cheng), as per his riding instructions to be handy, thus preventing his mount to race to its best advantage.
From the 400M-mark to the end of the race, App H Haikal failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination when his mount was running on strongly.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account App H Haikal’s riding records and mitigating factors. App H Haikal was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months to be served consecutively from the suspension incurred from his ride on ASIAN JET in Race 3 (R1110) on 14^th December 2024, i.e. effective from 6^th March 2025 and to expire on 5^th May 2025, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was fined a sum of RM20,000/- (Malaysian Ringgit: Twenty Thousand Only). He was advised of his right of appeal (1.05pm).

Subsequently, App H Haikal lodged an appeal against the findings and severity of the penalty imposed for his ride on HORSE KING in the above race. The appeal proper will be held on a date to be fixed.

TIN’S MACHINE, a course scratching as it had sustained bruise off hind sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

HENG XING (AK Lim) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

Acting on veterinary advice that SUPREME SUCCESS (App H Haikal) had sustained a cut on its left stifle behind the barriers, the gelding was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 1.50pm. SUPREME SUCCESS will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

BANG BINGO (Y Aify) was slow into stride.

Shortly after the start, KOTA RANGER (J Chuah) laid in, carrying SILENT PRINCE (KC Low) onto VILLAGE TYCOON (KC Wong) , resulting in VILLAGE TYCOON losing ground. Jockey J Chuah, the rider of KOTA RANGER was shown the video of the incident and was warned to exercise more care when shifting ground, failing which action may be taken.

Passing the 1000M-mark, D’GREAT OCEAN (App A Nazir) had to steady when D’GREAT TIMING (App S Shazmin) rolled in. App S Shazmin was shown the video of the incident and was warned to exercise more care when shifting ground, failing which action may be taken.

ADIRA PEGASUS (App Z Syafifie) was racing was obliged to race wide at the bend and thereafter, had a tendency to lay out in the straight.

Passing the 300M-mark, D’GREAT TIMING shifted in away from the whip.

Passing the 300M-mark, GLORIOUS BISCUIT (How Yang) shifted out away from the whip and then passing the 200M, Jockey How Yang, the rider of GLORIOUS BISCUIT dropped his whip, when he was trying to change his whip from his left hand to his right hand. Jockey How Yang was fined a sum of RM500/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for dropping his whip.

ANSU (KC Wong) and NIMBUS FLARE (App SN Shiva) were slow into stride.

Shortly after the start, ELITE SAINT (S Salee) tried to savage ELECTRONIC BOOM (App S Shazmin), resulting in ELECTRONIC BOOM to lay inwards and bumped TOP GUN (App Z Syafifie).

NIMBUS FLARE showed no early pace despite being urged.

HARVEYWALLBANGER (App A Nazir) was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 300M-mark, ELECTRONIC BOOM had to steady when ELITE SAINT rolled in.

Acting on the Starter’s advice that THE WONDERBOLT (S Ruzaini) was unable to be boxed, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.00pm and the gelding will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.

This race was run in heavy rain.

The saddle on BAGHDAD (App A Azizi) slipped back badly due to the breast check breaking during the running.

Jockey AK Lim, the rider ARAGON PEGASUS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of ARAGON PEGASUS revealed no obvious abnormality.

All riders returned an average of 1.5kgs over.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by App Z Syafifie, the rider of GOLDEN SHOW, placed 4^thagainst UNDER OATH (App S Shazmin), being placed 2^nd on grounds of alleged interference at the 300M and the 200M. After considering all the evidence and reviewing the videos, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled and the results stood.

When questioned regarding the improved performance of STARDICE (App SN Shiva) today, Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of STARDICE stated that the gelding managed to get a good jump to lead today, the 3kg-claims and a weaker field, in his opinion, had contributed to the gelding’s improved performance. His explanations were noted.

The Panel of Stewards opened an Inquiry into the riding and handling of SUCCESS STREET. Evidence were taken from Trainer S Cook, the trainer of SUCCESS STREET and Jockey HK Cheng, the rider of SUCCESS STREET.

Jockey HK Cheng, the rider of SUCCESS STREET was charged for a contravention of MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

The particulars of the charge are that:

1) from about 1200M-mark to the 600M-mark, he sat against his mount and made insufficient effort to maintain his position to race behind TIN’S MACHINE (SU Lim).

2) approaching the 400M-mark, he failed to ride his mount with sufficient vigour and determination to the end of the race.

The Panel of Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a date to be fixed to enable Jockey HK Cheng to produce his witnesses.

When questioned with regards to his riding of TALKINGTALKINGGURU, Jockey KC Wong stated that his instructions were to get a good jump and ride in a midfield position. Trainer B Dean, the trainer of TALKINGTALKINGGURU confirmed the instructions and stated that the gelding was running for the first time under him and advised Jockey KC Wong to allow the gelding to race on its merits. Their explanations were noted, however, the Panel of Stewards advised Jockey KC Wong that he should ride all his mounts out in a manner so as to leave no room for query.

Acting on veterinary advice that CHINO DINERO (HS Gill) was exhibiting signs of heat stress, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.40pm and the gelding will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

GENERATION M (App T Ammar) which cast its off fore plate behind the barriers, had to be reshod. Whilst re-shoeing, the bridle and the pacifier came off and had to be re-fitted. The Veterinary Surgeon stated that they have difficulty re-fixing the ear-muffs and the pacifier. With the consent of Trainer R Lines, GENERATION M was permitted to race without the said gears.

JAPAN CAPTAIN (App SN Shiva) jumped awkwardly outwards and brushed PROVOCATEUR (HK Cheng).

JAPAN CAPTAIN was racing keenly in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 300M-mark, STRAP MARKS (S Ruzaini) commenced to lay out.

Approaching the 200M-mark, Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of STRAP MARKS dropped his whip and he was warned that a repetition may lead to a penalty being imposed in future.

App S Shazmin, the rider of WASHINGTON reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of WASHINGTON revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of I’M SMART GREY (S Saddam) revealed no obvious abnormality and GOLD SKY EXPRESS (SU Lim) revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore. As such, GOLD SKY EXPRESS will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

FIGHT TO WIN which was up 20kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

CROWN GIFT (SU Lim) which was difficult to be boxed and was loaded riderless, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

FIGHT TO WIN (KC Wong) jumped awkwardly.

FLYING BABY (KC Low) was slow into stride.

STRETCHY FOUR (App H Haikal) was obliged to race wide on the turn and thereafter, was shifting in away from the whip in the straight.

Jockey S Saddam, the rider of GOLD PLAN reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of GOLD PLAN revealed no obvious abnormality and GOLD PLAN was impounded for further analytical examination(s).

Acting on a report from the Veterinary Officer that the EI vaccination status of ALWAYS INNOCENT was not current, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of ALWAYS INNOCENT at 11.55am. Trainer EP Tan was fined RM1,000/- under MRA Regulation 20.3.1 as read with MRA Regulation 20.6 for failing to ensure that the vaccination status of ALWAYS INNOCENT is updated.

HAPPY THIRTYNINE (S Saddam) and BOSSKU (HK Cheng) were examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to race.

CITIZEN (App P Haris) and BAKUTEH (HS Gill) were slow into stride.

BOSSKU was obliged to race wide on the turn.

WASHINGTON (App S Shazmin) had a tendency to hang in in the straight.

Post-race veterinary examinations of CITIZEN revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and SUPER WHIRLWIND (S Ruzaini) revealed no obvious abnormality. CITIZEN will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

MARTIN VJ and LISBOA STAR, both are course scratching. MARTIN VJ was too fractious to float whilst LISBOA STAR had sustained right eye corneal ulcer. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

SUPER HERO which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

CHAR KWAY TEOW (HS Gill) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

Acting on a report from the Starter that PURPLE RAIN (App N Shahronnizam) was unable to be boxed, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.02pm and the gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

CHAR KWAY TEOW which was racing keenly in the early stages, was shifting out away from the whip in the concluding stages.

App SN Shiva, the rider of VAIN TYCOON reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of VAIN TYCOON revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

TOM’S PHOENIX, a course scratching as it had sustained sole bruise off fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Shortly after the start, NOVA FACTOR (S Ruzaini) rolled out, carrying WAR FRONTIER (S Saddam) outwards. At the same time, BRANDENBURG (HS Gill) shifted in shortly after the start, resulting in THE BOSS (HK Cheng) being crowded for room and having to steady, losing ground. Jockey HS Gill, the rider of BRANDENBURG and Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of NOVA FACTOR were both shown the video of the incident and were both warned to exercise more care when shifting ground in future, failing which action may be taken. VILLAGE WARRIOR (KC Tham) which was following, had to steady. WAR FRONTIER continued to race keenly at the backstraight and was difficult to settle.

OCEAN LAW (KC Wong) was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

A post-race veterinary examination of THE BOSS revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that CAPTAIN PEGASUS (App SN Shiva) had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

After being boxed, SUCCESS STREET (KC Low) and HENG XING (R Rueven) were both fractious and were taken out from their stalls for veterinary examinations. The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined both runners and passed them fit to race. Both runners were re-boxed.

A BEAUTIFUL MIND (HS Gill) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped KING’S SPEECH (S Saddam).

NOW PICTURE (App SN Shiva) was slow into stride and showed no early pace, despite being urged.

BANG BINGO (Y Aify) was obliged to race wide at the backstraight.

DRAGON WHISPERER (AL Da Silva) had a tendency to lay out in the straight.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of HENG XING reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of HENG XING revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of A BEAUTIFUL MIND and NOW PICTURE revealed no obvious abnormality.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of COLONEL CHIEF (KC Wong) today, Trainer K Coetzee stated that the gelding was badly drawn at its last start and was unable to be in handy. Today, due to the good barrier draw, the gelding managed to jump with the pace, which in his opinion, had contributed to the gelding’s improved performance today. His explanations were noted.

ROCK N ROLL, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised both fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

GEORGETOWN was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.20pm, as the gelding’s status for Japanese B Encephalitis is not current. Trainer K Coetzee was fined RM1,000/- in terms of MRA Regulation 20.3.2(b) as read with MRA Regulation 20.6.

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey SU Lim to replace App S Shazmin, as the rider of AUSSIE EAGLE when the latter was stood down by the Club Medical Officer.

The Panel of Stewards permitted App SN Shiva to replace App P Haris as the rider of LIM’S HOPEFULLY, when App P Haris was unable to make the carded weight. App P Haris was fined RM500/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 107(10) for failing to make the carded weight on LIM’S HOPEFULLY.

CAVANA (KC Low) and LIM’S HOPEFULLY (App SN Shiva) both jumped awkwardly and were slow into stride.

D’GREAT TIMING (S Ruzaini) shifted in away from the whip from the 300M to the 200M.

App N Shahronnizam, the rider of STARHARMONY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of STARHARMONY revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of CAVANA revealed no obvious abnormality and LIM’S HOPEFULLY returned lame off fore and having cast its off fore plate. LIM’S HOPEFULLY will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RULE THE WORLD (App SN Shiva) was slow into stride.

MAVERICK (SU Lim) and CIRCUIT STAR (HS Gill) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

On entering the home straight, MAVERICK drifted in away from the whip.

Passing the 300M, GOD’S GIFT (App M Ekdihar) and VILLAGE TYCOON (App P Haris) brushed on a number of occasions. The whip of App M Ekdihar was accidentally struck off by App P Haris whilst racing tight.

The saddle on SUPREME SUCCESS (A Suriya) slipped back during the running.

MARS GO (S Salee) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of D’GREAT TIMING (App S Shazmin), Trainer R Lines stated that in his opinion, the 1600M distance, a weaker field and the soft track had contributed to its improved performance today. His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

Post-race veterinary examinations of MARS GO, SUCCESS STREET (KC Low) and CIRCUIT STAR revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SUPREME SUCCESS returned having cast its near fore plate.

D’GREAT MAGIC, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

BLACK TAIPAN (App H Haikal) jumped awkwardly, dipped and shortly thereafter, was tightened for room between D’GREAT SWIFT (App S Shazmin) and TAIWAN CAPTAIN (HS Gill) and was slow into stride. App H Haikal, the rider of BLACK TAIPAN was shown the vision of the start and was advised that he must endeavour to give sufficient reins to his mount on jumping.

MIGHT IS RIGHT (App N Shahronnizam) and TIN’S MACHINE (S Salee) were obliged to race wide at the backstraight.

BULLSEYE (Y Aify) raced keenly in the early stages.

Passing the 200M, TAIWAN CAPTAIN was eased down and a post-race veterinary examination on the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality. Jockey HS Gill, the rider of TAIWAN CAPTAIN reported that his mount was not striding out freely. TAIWAN CAPTAIN which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

ROCK N ROLL and WINNING SMILE, both are course scratching. ROCK N ROLL had sustained bruised off fore fetlock whilst WINNING SMILE sustained bruised both fore fetlocks. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptor USA CAPTAIN was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

MASTER JIANGMEN (SU Lim) was slow into stride.

BAKUTEH (App M Ekdihar) jumped awkwardly.

HAZARD (Y Aify) and PENANG MAN (R Narendran) drifted out in the straight and finished the race wide.

DIAMOND PEGASUS (App Z Syafifie) was obliged to race wide rounding the turn.

From the 400M to about the 200M, DIAMOND PEGASUS and WHITE RABBIT (S Saddam) raced tight and brushed on several occasions.

The Clerk-of-Scales reported that HARI HARI HAPPY (App A Nazir) weighed in more than a half kilograms less than the weight he weighed out. Acting under MRA Rule 121(2), the Panel of Stewards disqualified the 2^nd-placed getter, HARI HARI HAPPY and the Judges’ results were amended as follows:-

At the conclusion of an inquiry today, App A Nazir, the rider of HARI HARI HAPPY in the presence of his master Trainer F Maynard and Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of HARI HARI HAPPY, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 121(2) in that he returned to Scales more than half a kilogram underweight, as the rider of HARI HARI HAPPY in this race, which was placed 2^nd and subsequently, disqualified.

When deciding on a penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration his guilty plea, riding record and mitigating factors. App A Nazir was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days. Acting on the provisions of MRA Rule 48(5), the Panel of Stewards deferred the commencement of App A Nazir’s suspension to take effect from Monday, 28^th October 2024 and to expire on Sunday, 3^rd November 2024, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was also fined a sum of RM5,000/- and was advised of his right of appeal (6.05pm).

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of CHOSEN ONE, Trainer W Lim stated that in his opinion, the weaker field, the soft going and the slow pace of this race suit the gelding today. His explanations were noted, however his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SUPER WHIRLWIND (App SN Shiva) and DIAMOND PEGASUS revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that COLONEL CHIEF (S Saddam) returned having cast its off fore plate.

Trainer HY Cheng was fined a sum of RM2,000/- for a contravention of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 134(2)(b) for negligence in that he had failed to ensure that BE YOURSELF which finished 3^rd placing was presented to the post-race samples collections area immediately after the running of this race, as required.

Trainer CC Ooi was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to ensure that his horse RAGNAR (S Ruzaini) was presented to the Holding Yard within the stipulated time. Acting on a report from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory that they were unable to do the pre-race tests on time due to the delay, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of RAGNAR at 3.13pm.

At the start, SUSPICIOUS MIND (A Suriya) was tightened for room and had to steady when LOOKS GOOD (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards and CAPTAIN PEGASUS (App Z Syafifie) jumped awkwardly inwards.

Passing the 700M-mark, LOOKS GOOD had to steady when tightened for room when CAPTAIN PEGASUS rolled inward. App Z Syafifie, the rider of CAPTAIN PEGASUS was shown the video of the incident in the presence of his master Trainer K Coetzee and was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.

TIME TRAVEL (HK Cheng) was obliged to race wide at the bend.

A post-race veterinary examination of TIME TRAVEL revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

D’GREAT OCEAN, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruise near fore sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

PURPLE RAIN which was down 17kgs and LISBOA STAR which was up 22kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.

Trainer T Asogan was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of blinkers on FOUNTAIN OF FAME within the stipulated time.

Acting on veterinary advice that TILSWORTH MALI (SU Lim) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.30pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Passing the 200M-mark, JAPAN CAPTAIN (App SN Shiva) shifted in away from the whip.

CASTLE OCEAN which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

App S Shazmin, the rider of WASHINGTON reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of WASHINGTON revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of LISBOA STAR (S Saddam) revealed no obvious abnormality.

At a subsequent inquiry, Jockey HS Gill, the rider of FOUNTAIN OF FAME pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that approaching the 1000M-mark, he permitted his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear of RETALLICA, resulting in PURPLE RAIN which was racing on its inside having to check and lose ground.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey HS Gill’s guilty plea, disciplinary record and mitigating factors. Jockey HS Gill was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days, effective Monday, 21^st October 2024 and to expire on Sunday, 27^th October 2024, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (5.40pm).

Jockey Y Aify, the rider of ADIRA PEGASUS was questioned regarding his ride. He stated that his instruction was to sit 4/5 and make the move in the straight. After reviewing the race, the Panel of Stewards were not entirely satisfied with his explanation and informed him that he should ride all his mounts out so as to leave no room for query, failing which action would be taken in future.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ADIRA PEGASUS (Y Aify) and BLACK TAIPAN (App H Haikal) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that JJ STAR (App S Shazmin) had bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of KALA GHODA (L De Souza) today, Trainer L Moy stated that in his opinion, the gelding was well-handicapped in the race and its liking for Ipoh track, had contributed to the gelding’s improved performance today. His explanations were noted, however his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

Approaching the 1400M-mark, SUSPICIOUS MIND (App A Nazir) had to steady when MANDRAKE (HS Gill) rolled in.

NORTHERN STAR (S Ruzaini) had to be steadied approaching the first bend when RAGNAR (App H Haikal) rolled in.

MANDRAKE was racing keenly in the early and middle stages.

Passing the 200M, CASTELO (R Narendran) laid out, inconveniencing PEER GYNT (App P Haris). Jockey R Narendran, the rider of CASTELO was shown the video of this incident and was warned that he should straighten his mount in future, failing which action would be taken.

A post-race veterinary examination of GENERAL CHENG revealed that the gelding returned with a cut on its right cannon and will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again. BALL AND CHAIN (SU Lim) returned with respiratory distress and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

AUSSIE EAGLE (App S Shazmin) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.

ULURU (R Narendran) slipped as the start was effected, brushed the inside gate and was slow into stride.

JJ STAR (App N Shahronnizam) and CIRCUIT STAR (HS Gill) were slow into stride.

CIRCUIT STAR raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Jockey HS Gill (CIRCUIT STAR), App H Haikal (HI KARAKA) and Jockey R Rueven (COUNTRY LAW), all reported that their mounts could not handle the going today.

Post-race veterinary examinations of I’M SMART GREY (S Saddam) and ULURU revealed no obvious abnormality.

When questioned with regards to the improved performance of BAKUTEH (S Hafis) today, Trainer P Lee stated that the extra distance and the going today in his opinion, had contributed to its improved performance. His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

RACE 4(R0820) OPEN MAIDEN – 1300m (lc) WORTH THE WAIT 2010 STAKES

WE CAN DO IT (S Hafis) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.

Acting on a report from the Starter that WE CAN DO IT could not be boxed, the gelding was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.22pm and will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

EKRAAR PHOENIX (Y Aify) was slow into stride.

Jockey KC Low, the rider of FLEXI LAD was questioned regarding his ride. He reported that after getting a good jump, his mount had a tendency to shy away from runners on the outside and thereafter, raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. He also reported that his mount dipped on a few occasions rounding the turn. The Panel of Stewards were not entirely satisfied with his explanations, and he was warned that he should ride all his mounts out in a manner to as to leave no room for query.

Trainer I Ismadi was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on VINCENT’S STAR (KC Tham).

CHICAGO STAR (R Narendran) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.

CASTELO (Y Aify) was tightened for room when CHICAGO STAR jumped awkwardly inwards and JOEY (KC Low) jumped awkwardly outwards.

TEOCHEW KID (S Ruzaini) and VINCENT’S STAR were slow into stride.

Passing the 1100M-mark, AHTIMS KLIS (S Saddam) had to steady when CHICAGO STAR rolled inwards. Jockey R Narendran, the rider of CHICAGO STAR was shown the video of the incident and was warned to exercise more care when shifting ground in future, failing which action may be taken against him in future.

STORM EIGHTY-THREE (App Z Syafifie) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Jockey L De Souza (STREETS OF FIRE), App Z Syafifie (STORM EIGHTY-THREE) and Jockey S Ruzaini (TEOCHEW KID) all reported that their mounts could not handle the going today.

Post-race veterinary examinations of STREETS OF FIRE (L De Souza) revealed no obvious abnormality and CHICAGO STAR returned with respiratory distress. As such, CHICAGO STAR will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

DARCY, a course scratching as it had sustained a nail bind injury off fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

MIEJ (AK Lim) was slow into stride.

Passing the 150M-mark, the whip of Jockey L De Souza, the rider of MR MONDELLO was accidentally struck off by Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of NORTHERN STAR.

App S Shazmin who rode his 40^th winner on LANKARAN today, he will be permitted to claim 2kgs with effect from 26^th August 2024.

RACE 7 (R0823) CLASS 4 (B) – 1200m (sc) FOX HUNT 2001 HANDICAP

BORN TO WIN, a course scratching as it had sustained laceration off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Approaching the 1100M-mark, MODRIC bucked badly, unbalancing its rider, Jockey S Salee who was dislodged. SOMAR which was following, was hampered, unbalancing its rider, App A Azizi who was also dislodged. BALIN (App P Haris) which was racing on the outside, had to take evasive action to avoid the fallen riders. MODRIC will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

App A Azizi was exempted from weighing-in and was sent to hospital for observations. Jockey S Salee was stood down by the Club Medical Officer for the remainder of the day.

LAXON (S Hafis) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. A post-race veterinary examination of LAXON revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Panel of Stewards opened an inquiry into the running and handling of LAXON, ridden by Jockey S Hafis. After taking initial evidence from Jockey S Hafis and reviewing the video of the race, the Panel of Stewards adjourned the inquiry for Jockey S Hafis to produce his witness at the date to be fixed.

RACE 8 (R0824) CLASS 4(A) – 1200m (sc) NOBLE HERO 2000 HANDICAP

EMPHATIC, a course scratching as it had sustained a swollen near hind, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Acting on veterinary advice that HEARTS OF GOLD (WW Cheah) had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.12pm. The gelding will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey AK Lim to replace Jockey S Salee as the rider of BURGUNDY BUBBLES when the latter was medically stood down.

Acting on veterinary advice that DOCTOR GINGER (M Ganeesh) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.44pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of THUNDER SPIRIT reported that his mount could not handle the going today.

Post-race veterinary examinations of LEGEND OF THE SUN (SU Lim) revealed that the gelding had returned with epiglottic entrapment and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again and THUNDER SPIRIT (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey S Hafis, the rider of FA FA STAR was found guilty to a charge for contravention of MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

The particulars of the charge are that:-

He failed to give sufficient reins to FA FA STAR to jump on terms with the field, resulting in FA FA STAR throwing its head up and losing considerable ground.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Hafis’s disciplinary record and mitigating factors. Jockey S Hafis was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months, effective from Monday, 26^th August 2024 and to expire on Friday, 25^th October 2024, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was fined the sum of RM15,000/- (Malaysian Ringgit: Fifteen Thousand Only). He was advised of his right of appeal (6.45pm).

LET’S COME ON BABY (KC Low) jumped awkwardly outwards.

Passing the 200M-mark, LET’S COME ON BABY had to switch out over the heels of CASTLE OCEAN (J Chuah) and GREATEST ALL TIME (HK Cheng) to obtain clear running.

Jockeys Y Aify and AK Lim, the riders of IPOH KAIGEH and LEGACY FIGHTER respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of IPOH KAIGEH and LEGACY FIGHTER revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of CASTLE OCEAN revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
