KUALA LUMPUR:  Sep 22, 2024

WITNESSIMPACT continued his remarkable journey in Malaysia with his third win in three starts in the Class 3 – 1200m handicap at Sungai Besi here today.

The Star Witness gelding landed with a modest record of four placings in nine starts in Australia but took the local scene by storm when he romped to a nine-length win in a Open Novice race in his debut.

WITNESS IMPACT followed that up with another runaway win (by six and three quarter lengths) in a Max Two Stakes last month.

The five-year-old faced his biggest test yet today and passed it with flying colours.

Jockey Bernardo Pinheiro took him straight to the front on settling down and WITNESSIMPACT led his rivals on a merry chase to win by one and three quarters lengths.

“He (WITNESSIMPACT) is a pretty nice horse. He’s up a class today but still proved how good a horse he is,” said Pinheiro who also won on him last start.

“He broke well likes he usually does. I just bounced him out and gave him time because we were drawn wide.

In the straight, he just kept going. Simon (Dunderdale) did a good job with him.”

“WITNESSIMPACT was up a class today and still proved himself yet again,” said leading trainer Dunderdale who saddled five winners today to bring his tally for the year to 55 wins.
