Trainer Richard Lines continue to increase his tally of winners in the Trainers’ Championship Table this season when saddled a double in the one day race meeting at Selangor Turf Club last Saturday.
The soft spoken Englishman, has now 49 winners to his credit and his close rival, Trainer Charles Leck has 27 winners.

The Newmarket born Lines saddled Powerful Fighter (L De Souza) and in the last event with Gordon G (R. Shafiq).

Trainers with a single win were Shane Edwards, Beijing Star (Pinheiro, Race 1), Johnny Lim, Union Jack (HS Gill, Race 2), Mohd Sukri, Moment Of Justice ( Le De Souza, Race 4), Shane Eillis, Casey (Pinheiro, Race 5), Simon Dunderdable, Buenos Aires (R Shafiq, Race 6) and Charles Leck, Badcoe (N.Varmah, Race 7).

Visiting Brazilian Jockey Bernardo Pinheiro, continues with another tip top performance when shared the honours with fellow country man, L De Souza and local rider R Shafiq with a double each respectively at the races last Saturday.

Pinheiro took the opening event with Beijing Star, trained by Shane Edwards, and his second came in Race 5 with Casey trained by Shane Ellis.
Apprentice L De Souza’s double were from Powerful fighter in Race 3, trained by Richard Lines and Moment Of Justice trained by Mohd Sukri in the following event.
Local rider R. Shafiq’s double were in Race 6 with Simon Dunderable trained Buenos Aires and in the last event with Richard Lines trained Gordon G.

Jockey HS Gill and Apprentice N Varmah rode a single winner each.
Gill won in Race 2 with Johnny Lim trained Union Jack while apprentice N. Varmah’s win came in Race 7 with Charles Leck trained Badcoe.
