14 December, Kuala Lumpur

The Selangor Turf Club hosts a nine race card on Sunday the 15th of December, as we draw closer to the end of the racing calendar and the 2024 year. Smart One ran a credible race on debut despite being slow into stride. It was his first run since relocating from Singapore to Malaysia but ran on strongly to finish third. With his local debut under the belt there should only be more improvement to come. His biggest danger could be Kick from the N Selvan stable who recently also made his local debut and ran on to finish third. A similar profile to Smart One but Kick does have the benefit of barrier five compared to gate ten for Smart One.

TREES OF VALINOR

In race 2, Lim’s Sinai looks like he’s met the right field to win after finishing second in four of his last five starts. However, respect must be given to the ex-Singapore galloper Single Warrior, who makes his local debut after finishing third in his last start in Singapore. With that form behind him, he should improve a considerable amount in his local debut.

The best bet on the card stands out in race 6 with Trees Of Valinor who has been runner up in both of his career starts. He looked a winner with 100m to go in his last start but just found one better on the day in the form of Rocky Pegasus, who powered home to win under a remarkable effort from AK Lim who somehow managed to win despite losing an iron. Trees Of Valinor looks well placed to win here and should take a power of beating.
