Kuala Lumpur, 10 November

A favourable day for punters took place on Sunday with some exciting racing action across all 10 races. Favourite backers were off to a good start with Red Dragonfly and Volcanic opening up the racemeeting in races one and two respectively keeping their unbeaten Malaysian record intact since relocating from Singapore. Lim’s Unique showed a good turn of foot to fend off the challengers in the third and took his win tally up to six wins in Malaysia.

SILVER SAMURAI

The favourites bounced back with Silver Samurai who was a runaway winner in the fourth by winning over five lengths easing up at the line. M Ekdihar couldn’t have had an easier ride up in front and barely moved a muscle on the former Macau horse. Race 5 saw Defoe backed late into favouritism to catch the long time leader and market rival, Nozi Cyclone on the line who tried to go start to finish in front. Pacific Flash bounced back to winning ways after a disappointing effort last time out and was able to reverse the form with Infinity Glory from the run on the 6th of October.

The highlight of the day has to be the jockeyship of AK Lim aboard Rocky Pegasus who lost an iron early in the race, was well back in the running, but somehow managed to pull off the upset result catching Trees Of Valinor on the line. Unfortunately, AK Lim had to step down for the remainder of the meeting after hurting himself in that race, but take nothing away from a brave and brilliant effort to get Rocky Pegasus across the line.

VERY SURPRISE

Kim Kim drifted out to generous odds despite being one of the main contenders in the race and managed to hold off the late challenge of Blue Idol. Dragon Whisperer also caught eye with a good win in the ninth race after having to switch out at the top of the straight. The meeting was closed off with another favourite in the form of Very Surprise from the J Leck stable who made it three wins in a row with a late finish to catch Arabian Nights on the line. Racing returns to the Selangor Turf Club on Sunday the 17th of November.
