An exciting day of racing with a few jockeys and trainers notching up doubles on the day as well as a very rare occurrence of two dead heat finishes in consecutive races!

Visiting jockey B McDougall stamped his authority with a double from just his four rides on the day with a well timed ride aboard Lightning Gal, trained by S Dunderdale, who closed off the long time leader Lucky Warrior in the final strides to the winning post. His second of the double was a bit more straightforward with front running tactics applied to the ex-Singapore galloper Eruption who won in race 6 for the Lawson Moy stable. This was also the double for the Buffalo Stable owners who had a big role to play in bringing McDougall over.

L De Souza also managed a double on the day when opening up the meeting with Road Of Tiger with a comfortable victory by over 5 lengths but had to share the second of his wins with XC Liang who rode Snow Dragon in race 8. L de Souza was aboard Stop The Water, trained by R Lines, and finished in a dead heat in a nail biting race with literally nothing separating the two at the line. As soon as the excitement died down after waiting for some time for the results to be given, it instantly went up to the same level with another dead heat finish in the following race.

This time it was Super Posh from the S Hamilton stable and Oliver Kahn from K Ananthen who had to share the spoils. Super Posh looked like a winner in the final 100m under Al Da Silva but all the while Z Syafifie and Oliver Kahn were closing in with every stride and hit the line at the perfect time. With all competitiveness in this sport, it was a great sight to see for both races how excited and happy the winning connections were despite having to share the result.

W Cheah was the third jockey to ride a double on the day when he closed off the meeting with My Determination from the R Lines stable. This was the third winner of a treble for the Lines yard as the old timer, Harveywallbanger bounced back to his best form in race 5 when winning by over 3 lengths. Trainer CW Choi also celebrated a double with Iron Head in race 7 who was another runner on the day that benefited from front running tactics.

A day of trebles and doubles for jockeys, trainers and dead heat’s rounded off a fantastic day of racing and is a great build up heading into the double header of racing this upcoming weekend which kicks off on Friday as well as a Sunday meeting with feature races on both days.
