RACE 1 (R0576) CLASS 5(A) – 1200m (lc) BYD IPOH GBC HANDICAP
Emergency acceptor ROCK ME EASY was withdrawn due to field capacity.
Light rain fell prior and during the running of this race.
BAKUTEH (S Hafis) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.
SECRET AGENT (J Daniel) and BEIHAI TURBO (KC Tham) were slow into stride.
Upon straightening, BAKUTEH shifted in from the whip.
App R Nuqman, the rider of STRAP MARKS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of STRAP MARKS revealed no obvious abnormality.
All riders returned an average of 1kg over.
A post-race veterinary examination of BALL AND CHAIN (S Saddam) revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 2 (R0577) CLASS 5 (B) – 1200m (lc) BYD NO. 1 HANDICAP
NIMBUS COURAGE, JAPAN CAPTAIN and YOU ARE SPECIAL all are courses scratching. NIMBUS COURAGE and JAPAN CAPTAIN had sustained bruised off fore cannon respectively. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again. YOU ARE SPECIAL was euthanized due to colic.
Trainer P Lee was fined RM100/- each under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on LEGACY FIGHTER (KC Tham) and GOOD LUCK CHARM (J Chuah).
THAI BAHT (S Hafis) and RAINBOW FISH (S Ruzaini) were slow into stride.
TILSWORTH MALI (SU Lim) was obliged to race wide on the turn.
The saddle on THE SWAN (App R Nuqman) slipped forward during the running.
All riders returned an average of 1kg over.
A post-race veterinary examination of UNSHADOWED GENERAL (App Clyde Leck) revealed no obvious abnormality.
After the running of this race, the state of track was down-graded to ‘Soft.’

RACE 3 (R0578) CLASS 4(A) – 1200m (lc) BYD DOLPHIN HANDICAP
Trainer K Coetzee was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on PEER GYNT (KC Low).
Trainer T Asogan was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of tongue-tie on LUPIN (HS Gill) within the stipulated time.
STRAIGHT N ARROW (J Daniel) and STAR GLORY (App P Haris) were slow into stride.
PEER GYNT which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey HK Cheng and App R Nuqman, the riders of KANTHAKA and SILENT BOSS respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of KANTHAKA revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and SILENT BOSS revealed no obvious abnormality. KANTHAKA will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
All riders returned an average of 1.5kg over.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry into the running and handling of QIJI DIAMOND, App A Azizi, the rider of QIJI DIAMOND in the presence of his master, Trainer NM Selvan was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
The details of the charge are that:
1) From the 400M-mark to the finish, he failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination when his mount was running on strongly.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App A Azizi’s riding record and mitigating factors. App A Azizi was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months, with effect from 17th June 2024 and to expire on 16th October 2024, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was also fined the sum of RM20,000/- (Malaysian Ringgit Twenty Thousand only). He was advised of his right of appeal (5.20pm).
Trainer NM Selvan, the trainer of QIJI DIAMOND was found guilty in contravention of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for misconduct, in that he condoned what was clearly a contentious ride of App A Azizi’s ride on QIJI DIAMOND. He was fined the sum of RM10,000/- (Malaysian Ringgit: Ten Thousand Only) and was advised of his right of appeal (5.30pm)

RACE 4 (R0579) CLASS 5 (B) – 1600m (lc) LEXUS ES HANDICAP
Acting on veterinary advice that INTROIT (KC Low) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.14pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
UNLIMITED STAR (J Daniel) jumped awkwardly inwards and thereafter, commenced to lay in, shifting inwards.
BLACK TAIPAN (App R Nuqman) was obliged to race wide on the turn.
JJ STAR (AK Lim) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
All riders returned an average of 1kg over.
A post-race veterinary examination of SIR ELTON (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 5 (R0580) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc) LEXUS NX HANDICAP
EKRAAR PHOENIX, a course scratching as it had corneal ulcer on the right eye, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Due to heavy rain, the start of this race was re-scheduled 25 minutes late to start at 3.10pm.
SUPREME SUCCESS (SU Lim) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
MIEJ (AK Lim) was slow into stride.
CIRCUIT STAR (HS Gill) was hanging in in the backstraight and thereafter, was hanging out in the home straight. Jockey HS Gill reported that he had difficulty with his visibility in the race, having to remove his goggles at the 300M-mark.
ROCK N ROLL (S Hafis) shifted in from the whip in the straight.
All riders returned an average of 1.5kg over.
A post-race veterinary examination of D’GREAT SWIFT (App R Nuqman) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Emergency acceptors TEOCHEW KID, WECANDO and TITAN PEGAUS were withdrawn due to a capacity field.
The start of this race was re-scheduled 30 minutes late to start at 3.45pm.
SINCERELY (KC Low) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
All riders returned an average of 1kg over.
A post-race veterinary examination of AWESOME STORM (J Daniel) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Acting on a report from post-race collection team that SUPER HAPPY (App R Nuqman) failed to be presented for post-race samples collections, an inquiry into this matter will be held at a date to be fixed.

RACE 9 (R0584) CLASS 4 (A) – 1400m (sc) BYD SEAL HANDICAP
MICHIKAWA and KING’S SPEECH both are course scratching. MICHIKAWA had sustained nail bind near fore foot whilst KING’S SPEECH had sustained stone bruised near fore foot. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
