RACE 1 (MRA 0158) SPECIAL CLASS 5 (B) – 1200M
Trainer K Coetzee was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours for UNLIMITED STAR (S Saddam).
HARI HARI HAPPY (App P Haris) showed no early pace despite being urged.
Jockey HK Cheng, the rider of PENANG MAN, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of PENANG MAN revealed no obvious abnormality.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of BEST CHILLI (KC Wong), Trainer EP Tan stated that the good going and a weaker field today, in his opinion, contributed to the improved performance of BEST CHILLI. His explanation was noted and his attention was drawn to the rules regarding “in-and-out” running (MRA Rule 117(3)).

Trainer K Coetzee was fined RM200/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours for JULIUS CAESAR (KC Wong) and GEORGETOWN (SU Lim) (RM100/- per horse).
JULIUS CAESAR jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.
GOLDEN DASH (AL Da Silva) drifted out under pressure in the concluding stages.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that KIPEH (S Saddam) returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of GEORGETOWN revealed no obvious abnormality.

WAR SNIPER (KC Wong) was slow into stride and showed no pace despite being urged.
Post-race veterinary examinations of WAR SNIPER and TOPMOST (App P Haris) revealed no obvious abnormality. However, TOPMOST cast its off hind plate during the running. WAR SNIPER which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of JOEY (S Salee), Trainer S Hamilton stated that the better barrier draw, a weaker field and keeping the gelding fresh, in her opinion, contributed to the improved performance of JOEY today. Her explanation was noted and her attention was drawn to the rules regarding “in-and-out” running (MRA Rule 117(3)).
