RACE 1 (R1067) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc) GOLD COAST 24 OCTOBER HANDICAP
BLUE EYED BOY (S Hafis) and SHYLOCK (HS Gill) were slow into stride.
SOON YOU THINK (App Z Syafifie) was hanging out in the straight.
TAIWAN CAPTAIN (AM Aizat) was hanging out in the straight, finishing the race wide.
Post-race veterinary examinations of ALL IN (HK Cheng) and RISE OF THE LEGEND (App AB Riduan) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer K Coetzee was questioned with regards to the improved performance of TAIWAN CAPTAIN today. The only explanation he could offer was that the horse does not like to be bustled early and as such, instructed his jockey accordingly. Furthermore, he was also of the opinion that the going suited the gelding today. His explanation was noted, however his attention was drawn to the MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

RACE 2 (R1068) CLASS 5 (B) – 1600m (lc) QUALITY 2YOs AT MAGIC MILLIONS HANDICAP
LUCK HAPPY, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off hind fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
RAISE ME UP (HK Cheng) caused a delay at the start, as the girth had to be changed and thereafter, was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start. Trainer B Ng, the trainer of RAISE ME UP was advised that he must ensure that all his gears are in good conditions, failing which may lead to a penalty being imposed in future.
DON’T FORGET THIS (App SN Shiva) which could not be loaded, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 1.50pm and the gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
HELLO MONDAY (S Ruzaini) jumped awkwardly.
DREAMS CAN BE REAL (J Low) and SING DARCI (AM Aizat) were both slow into stride.
THE JEWELLER (HS Gill) raced keenly in the early stages.
DREAMS CAN BE REAL was hanging in, in the straight.
Jockeys HS Gill and SU Lim, the riders of THE JEWELLER and VALUE OF JUSTICE respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of THE JEWELLER and VALUE OF JUSTICE revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of SING DARCI revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
RAISE ME UP and VALUE OF JUSTICE (SU Lim) which both raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Acting on veterinary advice that GALILEO’S APPROACH (J Daniel) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.13pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
HEARTS OF GOLD (L De Souza) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
MULTIBLUE SHARK (AM Aizat) was obliged to race wide on the turn.
A post-race veterinary examination of KING RAVANA (S Hafis) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that ELITE QUARTETO (SU Lim) returned having cast its off hind plate.

GOOD MAN (AM Aizat) jumped awkwardly, throwing its head up and thereafter, raced wide in the early and middle stages.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that NO FUN NO GAIN returned having cast its off fore plate.

HEADHUNTER was down 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
TOP GUN (J Daniel) jumped awkwardly.
DRAGON CAVALLO (J Low) over-raced in the early stages and was momentarily inconvenienced in a tightly-bunched field, losing some ground at the 1000M-mark.
Jockey SU Lim, the rider of ZHU CAPTAIN reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of ZHU CAPTAIN revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of DRAGON CAVALLO and TOP GUN revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that HEADHUNTER (App SN Shiva) returned having cast its near fore plate.

BEAT THE LIGHT (AM Aizat) was slow into stride.
PROVOCATEUR (L De Souza) jumped awkwardly inwards, inconveniencing KIPEH (AK Lim).
Approaching the 1000M-mark, BEAT THE LIGHT steadied off the heels of CHAR SIEW (S Hafis).
TILSWORTH MALI (S Ruzaini) was hanging out in the straight.
YULONG DREAM (J Low) shifted out from the whip in the straight, carrying SIR ELTON (App SN Shiva) wide in the later stages.
Post-race veterinary examinations of BEAT THE LIGHT and AUTUMN BLITZ (SU Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer P Lee was questioned with regards to the improved performance of TILSWORTH MALI today. He was unable to offer any explanations, other than that this horse was having its 3rd run for him today. His explanation was noted, however his attention was drawn to the MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

Acting on veterinary advice that POWER EXPRESS (HS Gill) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.18pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
BRISTOL DIAMOND (J Daniel) reared on jumping and was slow to begin.
SIEW YUK (S Hafis) and USA CAPTAIN (App R Ruwaidy) were both slow into stride.
The saddle on YOU ARE SPECIAL (AK Lim) slipped back during the running.
USA CAPTAIN was hanging out in the straight and at approximately the 50M-mark, steadied off the heels of SIEW YUK.
At approximately the 100M-mark, STORM TO WIN (App A Azizi) and ARAGON PEGASUS (App Z Syafifie) brushed.
A post-race veterinary examination of YOU ARE SPECIAL revealed no obvious abnormality.

SUSPICIOUS MIND, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
FIRE AWAY (S Ruzaini) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
Shortly after the start, SPIDERMAN (App R Ruwaidy) brushed SOMAR (App A Azizi).
At approximately the 1000M-mark, BACK TO THE FUTURE (AK Lim) steadied off the heels of DISCRETELY RED (S Hafis) and at the 700M-mark, steadied off the heels of LUCKY STAR (App AB Riduan) which rolled in.
UNDER OATH (AM Aizat) was obliged to race wide at the turn.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that YOUARETHEBEST is making an abnormal respiratory noise. As the gelding was very fractious and was unable to be scoped, the Veterinary Surgeon will conduct an examination tomorrow and a subsequent veterinary report will follow.
