STATE OF TRACK: RACE 1-3 YIELDING, RACE 4-9 GOOD

RACE 1 (R911) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc) PEONY HANDICAP
As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards acceded to Trainer P Lee’s request to withdraw BLUE EYED BOY at 12.50pm.
ADIRA PEGASUS (S Ruzaini) which dislodged its rider enroute to the start, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start. Jockey S Ruzaini was examined by the Club Medical Officer and was passed fit to ride.
INTROIT (J Low) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
HENG KINGDOM (M Ewe) was slow into stride.
Shortly after the start, INTROIT was crowded when racing tight on the outside of TAIWAN CAPTAIN (AM Aizat).
SUCCESS STREET (SU Lim) was hanging in, in the straight.
HENG KINGDOM which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
App SN Shiva, the rider of SOON YOU THINK, was shown the video of his ride in the homestraight in the presence of his master Trainer K Coetzee and he was warned against the use of whip when his mount was clearly out of contention.
App Azizi, the rider of JET BLACK was warned against the excessive use of his whip when his mount was clearly out of contention.
A post-race veterinary examination of ALL IN (HK Cheng) revealed no obvious abnormality and the gelding had returned having cast its near hind plate.

RACE 2 (R912) CLASS 5 (B) – 1600m (lc) MAGNOLIA HANDICAP
The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey KC Tham to replace Jockey KP Lim as the rider of RAISE ME UP, when the latter was medically stood down.
SUPREME SUCCESS which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
SHA NA NA (SU Lim) which was unable to be loaded, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 1.52pm and the gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
At the conclusion of an inquiry today, Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of SING DARCI pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii), in that approaching the 500M-mark, he shifted in when insufficiently clear of TRINITY HONOR (S Ruzaini), resulting in TRINITY HONOR having to check and lose ground.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into considerations Jockey AM Aizat’s guilty plea and mitigating factors. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days, effective from Monday, 28th August 2023 and to expire on Saturday, 9th September 2023, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (2.35pm).
A post-race veterinary examination of TRINITY HONOR revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 3 (R913) CLASS 4 (A) – 1400m (lc) SUNFLOWER HANDICAP
The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey SU Lim to replace Jockey KP Lim as the rider of THAILAND CAPTAIN, when the latter was medically stood down.
DISCRETELY RED (App A Azizi) was slow into stride.
Shortly after the start, MULTIBLUE SHARK (App SN Shiva) steadied when SILENT BOSS (HK Cheng) rolled out.
After the jump, NOVA FALCON (AM Aizat) rolled out, carrying SOMAR (Z Khairil) onto MANDRAKE (HS Gill) which had to be steadied. Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of SOMAR was shown the video of his ride in this race and was warned that in future, he should ride all his mounts in such a manner so as to leave no room for query.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SILENT BOSS and SOMAR revealed no obvious abnormality.
After the running of this race, the state of track was upgraded to ‘Good.”

SUNTZU (App Z Syafifie) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
Approaching the 150M-mark, POWER EXPRESS (App SN Shiva) had to steady when BEIJING STAR (M Ewe) rolled out.
CHERISH (J Daniel) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey J Daniel, the rider of CHERISH reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of CHERISH revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 5 (R915) CLASS 5 (B) – 1300m (lc) PETUNIA HANDICAP
The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey HK Cheng to replace Jockey KP Lim as the rider of BITCOIN KING, when the latter was medically stood down.
SIEW YUK (S Hafis) and HEX MARK (HS Gill) were both slow into stride.
YULONG DREAM (AM Aizat) hung out in the straight.
HEX MARK (HS Gill) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
App Z Syafifie and Jockey HS Gill, the rider of TK STAR and HEX MARK respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of TK STAR revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and HEX MARK revealed no obvious abnormality. TK STAR will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
SIEW YUK which was impounded, returned with a small cut on its near fore.
Jockey J Daniel, the rider of ASIAN JET reported that he was struck by a clod of mud. He was examined and stood down by the Club Medical Officer for the remainder of the day.

RACE 7 (R917) CLASS 5 (A) – 1300m (lc) JASMINE HANDICAP
NICATOR, a course scratching as it had sustained respiratory infection, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
DEPENDABLE (HK Cheng) and MIEJ (Z Khairil) were slow into stride.
At approximately the 800M-mark, HIGH COUNCIL (App Z Syafifie) steadied off the hind quarters of REMO MAMA (AK Lim).
BAGHDAD (App A Azizi) and RISE OF THE LEGEND (SU Lim) drifted out at the concluding stages and finished the race wide.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that HIGH COUNCIL had returned lame near fore and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

BAKUTEH, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
SACRED TONIC which was up 31kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
As there was no rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted the withdrawal of BALL AND CHAIN at 4.28pm.
This race was run in light rain.
FAST AND SUPER (S Hafis) was slow into stride.
OCEAN LAW (AM Aizat) raced wide rounding the turn and entered the straight wide.
SACRED TONIC (S Ruzaini) was hanging out in the straight and laid out over the concluding stages.
KRATOS (HK Cheng) drifted out away from the whip over the concluding stages, inconveniencing FAST AND SUPER slightly.

At approximately the 400M-mark, CASTLE OCEAN (AM Aizat) stumbled.
GOLDEN SHOW (Z Khairil) raced wide around the bend and entering the home straight.
Post-race veterinary examinations of HARVEYWALLBANGER (S Ruzaini) and YOU ARE SPECIAL (S Hafis) revealed no obvious abnormality.

POST-RACE ANALYSIS (EQUINE):
13th AUGUST 2023 – PERAK AUGUST MEETING 2023
The report dated 24th August 2023 (V23/122) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 28 coded urine and 32 sets of coded blood samples from the above- mentioned race meeting were received on 13th August 2023, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
