The Stewards inquired into App S Uzair’s riding of THE SWAN in this race. Evidence was taken from App S Uzair and Trainer S Dunderdale, the trainer of THE SWAN and his Employing Trainer’s representative.
After considering the evidence and also reviewing the films of THE SWAN, the Stewards found App S Uzair guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that in the opinion of the Stewards, his riding of THE SWAN was inconsistent and lack of purpose in terms of his tactics in getting the best out of THE SWAN over the final 175M.
The Stewards took into consideration App S Uzair’s riding record, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months, to be deferred, with effect from 9 January 2023 and to expire on 8 March 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC
RACE 7 (R1413) METRO A – 1250M (A lc), BETMAKERS CUP, SUNDAY, 4 DECEMBER 2022, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2022
Trainer SY Lim was questioned as to the circumstances surrounding the late veterinary examination of VIOLET on the morning of 4 December 2022.
He was advised that he should endeavour to ensure all horses were fit and verified to run before the 3-hour cut-off when Emergency Acceptors were not included.
RACE 10 (R1426) CLASS 5b – 1200M (A4 lc), SUNDAY, 11 DECEMBER 2022, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2022
Trainer HY Cheng’s Assistant Trainer was questioned as to the status of I’M THE MAN which finished last in the above race.
Although a post-race veterinary examination had revealed no significant finding, he reported that I’M THE MAN had significant swelling to the off hind on Monday morning. He advised that it was intended to continue with the gelding’s preparation after this condition had rectified.
