DAY 2, SATURDAY – 20th FEBRUARY 2022

RACE 1 (R233) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc)
D’GREAT MAGIC had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock, whilst SING EXPRESS had sustained a bruised near fore sole. Both these course scratching will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
The saddle on OVERSEER (J Daniel) was re-adjusted behind the barriers.
FIRST SUCCESS (App YY Oon) which stood and was slow to begin and thereafter, raced poorly, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test and 1000M/vet before being declared to race again.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of JOYFUL reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of JOYFUL revealed no obvious abnormality and had returned having cast its near hind plate.
App A Saran, the rider of LION CONQUEROR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of LION CONQUEROR which raced poorly, revealed no obvious abnormality. The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer W Lim, the trainer of VALUE OF JUSTICE as to the apparent improved performance today. He was unable to offer any reasonable explanations and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running. Trainer W Lim was also warned that should VALUE OF JUSTICE prove to be inconsistent in future, the horse may be suspended.
The Panel of Stewards also questioned Trainer Evert van Breukelen, the trainer of GOLDEN EMPIRE as to its disappointing performance today. He explained that he had instructed Jockey S Saddam to ride GOLDEN EMPIRE mid-field, but the gelding showed no pace. The only other explanation he could offer was, possibly GOLDEN EMPIRE did not race well, as it raced again soon after its previous run.

RACE 2 (R234) CLASS 5(A) – 1200m (lc)
Trainer C Robert was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to seek the Stewards’ permission for Jockey J Daniel to ride 1.5kg over on MR DREYFUSS within the stipulated time.
ONE FOR ALL which was down 20kgs in body weight since it last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
Jockey L De Souza was certified fit by the Club Medical Officer to resume riding today.
Acting on veterinary advice that ONE FOR ALL (S Rosmizan) was lame off hind, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1.44pm. The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.
SPEEDY SWALLOW (J Chuah) which was difficult to be loaded, delaying the start, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
IPOH DASH (App S Hafis), WILDFIRE (AM Aizat) and BLUE EYED BOY (S Saddam) were slow into stride.
At approximately the 900M-mark, SPEEDY SWALLOW dipped in a tightly-bunched field.
WILDFIRE over-raced in the early and middle stages.
Passing the 900M-mark, COME ON JIMMY (App A Saran) rolled inwards, resulting in NORTHERN KNIGHT (HK Cheng) and MR DREYFUSS (J Daniel) being tightened.
App R Nuqman, the rider of ZAC ACE reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of ZAC ACE revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer C Robert was questioned with regards to the improved performance of MR DREYFUSS (J Daniel) today. He explained that it was having its first run for him today. He also stated that MR DREYFUSS was drawn well. His explanations were noted and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that COME ON JIMMY returned lame near fore and INVISIBLE (App S Sia) returned having cast its near fore plate. COME ON JIMMY will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

BACH’S AIR, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised back, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
LUCKY GIANT (CK Tan) which stood as the gates opened, losing considerable ground, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
Approaching the 100M-mark, JUNIOR (CK Khaw) dipped.
MARTIN VJ (S Rosmizan) and STAGESHOW (App S Hafis) were slow into stride.
Jockey J Daniel, the rider of RANT AND RAVE reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of RANT AND RAVE revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer V Sivan with regards to MARTIN VJ being slow to begin today. He explained that this horse was having its first start for him and he would endeavour to improve its barrier manners. A post-race veterinary examination of MARTIN VJ revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R236) OPEN MAIDEN [WEIGHT-FOR-AGE] -1300m (lc)
INVICTUS WARRIOR which was up 16kgs and RIDE A WHITE HORSE which was up 18kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
Passing the 1200M-mark, GOLDEN BOLD (R Rueven) shifted out over the heels of RINGS OF FIRE (App R Nuqman) and in so doing, carried SWEET TAPIT (App WW Cheah) wide. Jockey R Rueven, the rider of GOLDEN BOLD was shown the video of the incident and was warned to exercise more care in future.
Post-race veterinary examinations of RINGS OF FIRE revealed no obvious abnormality whilst TAN’S MAESTRO (J Chuah) revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

ELITE SAINT which was down 17kgs in body weight while PURPLE RAIN which was up 19kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
MISS MICHELLE (SS Vanan) which was difficult to be loaded and was fractious, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
ELITE SAINT (J Daniel) jumped awkwardly.

ASIAN TIGER, a course scratching as it had fever, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Emergency acceptors SECOND CHANCE and THUNDERSTRUCK were withdrawn due to capacity field.
SHYLOCK (C Goon) was slow into stride.
WINDOW OF TIME (J Chuah) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of CODIGOS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of CODIGOS revealed no obvious abnormality.
App A Saran, the rider of LITTLE MASTER in the presence of his acting master Trainer R Lines, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(12) for making a celebratory gesture before the finish.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account App A Saran’s record and mitigating factors. He was fined the sum of RM500/- and was advised of his right of appeal (4.15pm).

Emergency acceptors HAPPY LUCKY STAR and KING RAVANA were withdrawn due to capacity field.
The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey R Rueven to replace Jockey S Rosmizan as the rider of LUCK HAPPY, when the latter was certified unwell by the Club Medical Officer.
MONACO ACE (S Salee) jumped a patch approaching the 1300M-mark.
Passing the 400M-mark, GET THE LOTSKI (KC Wong) shifted outwards abruptly over the heels of the rapidly tiring MARTELLO (App AR Aiman).
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that MARTELLO had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

MR DJ, a course scratching as it had sustained a swollen near fore cannon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Emergency acceptor LUCKY TIGER was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
ORDOS LEGEND which was down 23kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
As there was no suitable jockey available, the Panel of Stewards permitted App WW Cheah to replace Jockey S Rosmizan, as the rider of SOMAR when the latter was medically stood down.
Heavy rain fell prior to and during the running of this race.
LIM’S PIPER (App AR Aiman) which jumped awkwardly, was slow into stride.
MASTER JIANGMEN (App S Hafis) was slow into stride.
Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of SILENT BOSS dropped his rein at approximately the 200M-mark and re-gained it thereafter.
LIM’S PIPER and MISS MINMIN (App A Saran) which both raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.
All riders returned an average of 2kgs over.
