Trainer Frank Maynard and Brazilian Jockey Jose De Souza shared the honours of winning three races in a card of 12 at Selangor Turf Club last Sunday. Maynard, who is currently in second spot behind Richard Lines with 59 winners, started the winning note in the opening event with Rant And Rave (R Rueven), D’Great Timing (Race 8, Y Aify) and Tiger Bay (Race 9, CK Khaw). Trainer Simon Dunderdale saddled a double in Callixtus (Race 4, Jose De Souza) and punters favourite Sun Dancer (Race 7, Jose De Souza). Trainers who saddled a winner each were Richard Lines, (Powerful Fighter, Jose De Souza, Race 3), P S Kumaran (Just Duit, Z Khairil, Race 2), Lawwon Moy (Once A Thief, Aucharuz, Race 5), Charles Leck (Premium Stars, S Ruzaini, Race 6), SY Lim (Teh Tarik, Race 10, C Goon), B T Lim (Lim’s Battle, Y Aify, Race 11) and Shane Edwards (Nana, Z Khairil, Race 12)On the jockeys’ championship, Jose De Souza rode three winners from many rides and is currently with 36 winners and in third spot. He was successful in Race 3 (Powerful Fight), Race 4 (Callixtus) in Race 7 (Sun Dancer). Jockeys Y Aify rode a double in Race 8 (D Great Timing) and chance mount in Race 11 (Lim’s Battle). Jockey Z. Khairil also rode a double in Race 2 (Just Duit) and in the last with Nana. Jockeys who rode just a winner each were, R.
