21 December, Kuala Lumpur

Nine races take place on Sunday the 22nd of December with the feature race of the day being the Sungai Besi Autoworld Cup in Race 6 which takes place over 1200m. This sees the return of Chonky Potato from the J Leck stable after a lengthy break off the track. His last race was in the G1 Penang Sprint Trophy where he was well beaten. He’s now first up after 147 days since that run but does boast an excellent first up record for four wins from nine starts as well as five minor placings. He drops back slightly in trip which should boost his chances and stands out as one of the leading lights in this race.

Other runners on the day that stand out as promising selections in a rather open day of racing, punters can look to race 1 with Handsome Joyful from the in-form Ricky Choi stable who had a treble of winners last week. He’ll be looking to continue his hot run in the first with a runner who has improved from his local debut effort and should continue that trend here in a rather weak Class 5 event. Watch for big improvement from Diaz who is bound to improve with his second run in Malaysia.

Bold Runner steps out in race 7 and with just 55kgs to shoulder, he should take a power of beating. With formlines behind Yes Man; Duma and Tornado Pegasus, he certainly has faced a lot tougher than what he meets here. He meets Rocky Bhai once again and is 4,5kgs better off than his rival despite finishing ahead of him in the run back on the 27th of October. He is well weighted and looks the class horse in this Special Novice event. The biggest danger could be the improving Enticing from the Simon Dunderdale yard.
