Revue Impresses First Up
24 November 2024, Kuala Lumpur
Sayonara looked like one of the better bets on the nine race card after a demolition job in Penang just two weeks ago when he won by eight lengths. He received a hefty penalty in the ratings for that win but with the apprentice claim this time round, it practically cancelled it out and Sayonara was able to make it two wins from three starts in Malaysia. The owners would have been delighted as the India Horse Club had two more winners on the day with Billy Elliot as well as Blue Idol – both ridden to victory by S Ruzaini – giving the owners a treble for the afternoon.
Earlier in the day, Thunder Hero made it a winning local debut since relocating from Singapore in race one. He won a trial earlier in the week in easy fashion and was able to produce the same on Sunday shedding his maiden tag in his sixteenth attempt. Typhoon was victorious in race five at very generous odds considering a fourth placed run in his last start. This brought up a double on the day for T Ammar who won earlier in the day on Sayonara. Bintang Sixty-One was able to upset the heavily backed Nozi Cyclone in the sixth race under a patient ride from Clyde Leck who was stuck on the outside of runners for most of the journey but managed to win rather comfortably with a bit in hand.
The most impressive winner of the afternoon has to be the CH Choi trained Revue who won a Class 3 by over eight lengths on his local debut in Malaysia. The Choi stable have certainly settled in well to the new surroundings with a winner last week as well. Pacific Windsor won the penultimate race in a thriller with four horses across the track in the final 100m. But under a vigorous ride from KC Tham, Pacific Windsor was able to come out on top ahead of Skydance Eclipse who was unlucky after a slow start. Digging Eight completes the winners list after an easy win going start to finish in front in the second race of the afternoon.
Racing returns on Sunday the 1st of December for the 2024 Pialas Emas Sultan Selangor as the year draws to an end and any avid racing fan will be sure to make there way to the track to watch the final leg of the Triple Crown Series over 2000m with quality racing throughout the day.
