TREES OF VALINOR TO STRIKE
7 November, Kuala Lumpur
Racing takes place at the Selangor Turf Club on Sunday the 10th of November with a 10 race card that certainly has a few runners to keep an eye on. Punters can get off to a winning start in the first race with Red Dragonfly who opened up his Malaysian account with a win on his local debut. This isn’t a strong field that he meets here and he could be worth following again. Golden Sixty-One is another ex-Singapore galloper who won on his local debut and he’ll be looking to make it back-to-back wins in race 2. His biggest danger seems to be Volcanic from the S Dunderdale stable who is looking to make it three wins in a row as he won in his last start in Singapore before following up with a win in his first start in Malaysia when defeating Perfect Brandz.
Sacred Sky in race 3 could be one of the value bets for the day. He’s had a good introduction to racing in Malaysia from the F Maynard stable despite having wide draws in both starts. He now jumps from barrier 3 and with a slight drop in trip, he should contest the finish and is worth an each-way shout. Race 4 is a little trickier as it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Rhythm Of Zen bounce back to form after a few disappointing efforts. However, Silver Samurai under M Ekdihar does present himself as the primary selection after a good debut behind Surfie Boy – who has yet to have missed the first two in Malaysia. There’s some confidence about Nozi Cyclone in race 5 from trainer BT Lim, who was very transparent in his interview regarding his runners for the weekend, and is expecting him to win. Make sure to subscribe to the Selangor Turf Club Youtube channel to stay in touch with the latest trainer and jockey interviews as well as barrier trials and replays.
Infinity Warrior is looking to keep his unbeaten record intact in race 6 but it could be tricky as the stable companion, Infinity Glory brings strong form to the race and will receive the help of a 3kg allowance from T Ammar. Race 7 is interesting as Trees Of Valinor returns to the track after an impressive debut run behind Duma – who has subsequently followed up that win with another victory in the TBC Gamefi Club Trophy. Trees Of Valinor has a really good turn of foot, as shown in his recent trials, and he should be the one to beat. Kim Kim was unlucky last start not to have won after being bumped around and had to avoid a fading horse, but after two second placings in a row, she looks primed to run a big race in the eighth. Race 9 does seem to be one of the more open races on the day but to close off the meeting, trainer J Leck has a strong hand with both of All White and Very Surprise who should fight it out in race 10. The latter is looking to make it a hat-trick of wins whereas All White despite not having won since April, is a consistent sort and he should be in the shake-up.
