RACE 1 (R0204) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc)
MASTER JIANGMEN which was up 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
SUPREME JUSTICE (SU Lim) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
LANKARAN (S Ruzaini) jumped awkwardly.
GOLDEN LIGHTNING (AK Lim) was pulling hard and was difficult to settle in the backstraight.
SHENG PROISIR (App H Haikal) shifted in from the whip in the straight.
KING OF GLORY (App A Nazir) and SACRED GALAXY (How Yang) which both raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
App R Nuqman and Jockey SU Lim, the riders of SUCCESS STREET and SUPREME JUSTICE respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of SUCCESS STREET revealed that the gelding had bled and as such, SUCCESS STREET will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of LANKARAN (S Ruzaini), SACRED GALAXY and SUPERME JUSTICE revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer PK Leong and Jockey How Yang were advised that an inquiry into the running and handling of SACRED GALAXY will be held at a date to be fixed.

RACE 2 (R0205) CLASS 5 (B) – 1600m (lc)
TRIPLE ONE STAR, a course scratching as it had sustained a sore back, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
CIRCUIT STAR which was up 33kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
BLUE EYED BOY (App H Haikal) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
BLUE EYED BOY which stood and missed the jump, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
SOON YOU THINK (App P Haris) jumped awkwardly, throwing its head up and thereafter, was pulling hard and was difficult to settle in the early stages.
CIRCUIT STAR (J Daniel) which was pulling hard, brushed the rail at approximately the 1300M-mark.
At approximately the 100M-mark, CIRCUIT STAR was momentarily inconvenienced as a result of MAGICAL PARK (S Hafis) which was hanging in.
MAZANZE (App R Nuqman) commenced to lay out under pressure in the concluding stages.
Jockeys SU Lim and J Daniel, the riders of TRINITY HONOR and CIRCUIT STAR respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of TRINITY HONOR revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded and CIRCUIT STAR revealed no obvious abnormality. TRINITY HONOR will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of KALA GHODA (L De Souza) revealed that the gelding had bled and as such, will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

PEER GYNT (S Ruzaini) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
MAGIC THE ZHU (App P Haris) was slow into stride and thereafter was hanging in, in the straight.
Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of PEER GYNT reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of PEER GYNT revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that GHOST MARI (App R Nuqman) returned having cast its near fore plate.

GIFTED and LAGO DE COMO which were down 16kgs and 18kgs respectively, in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.
HARVEYWALLBANGER (S Ruzaini) was slow into stride.
BALL AND CHAIN (S Hafis) jumped awkwardly.
LAGO DE COMO (App P Haris) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
App P Haris and Jockey AK Lim, the riders of LAGO DE COMO and GOLDEN HORSE respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of LAGO DE COMO and GOLDEN HORSE revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of GOLDEN QUEEN (App H Haikal) revealed no obvious abnormality.

SHIMI GO and SPEEDY MISSILE both are course scratching. SHIMI GO had sustained sole bruised off fore, whilst SPEEDY MISSILE had sustained corneal ulcer on its right eye. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
WAR DRAGON (J De Souza) and TEOCHEW KID (How Yang) came together on jumping.
Jockey How Yang who rode his 40th winner on TEOCHEW KID today, will now be entitled to claim 2kgs effective from Monday, 26th February 2024.
The Inquiry into the running and handling of WAR DRAGON will be held at a date to be fixed.

At approximately the 250M-mark, NINGALOO (SU Lim) drifted out, carrying CAVANA (App H Haikal) which bumped onto GOOD WARRIOR (App SN Shiva).
KRATOS (App P Haris) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of WINTERFELL (S Ruzaini) at 3.31pm.
PROVOCATEUR (AM Aizat) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
SECRET AGENT (App A Nazir) and ZAZU (L De Souza) came together on jumping.
INTROIT (App H Haikal) and BEIHAI TURBO (App P Haris) showed no early pace.
Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of PROVOCATEUR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of PROVOCATEUR revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BEIHAI TURBO and ZAZU returned having cast their off fore plate and near hind plate respectively.

Heavy rain fell with thunder and lightning prior to the running Race 8, the Panel of Stewards decided to cancel Race 8 to Race 10 for safety reasons.
RACE 8 (R0211) CLASS 5 (A) – 1400m (sc)
ROSES FOR ME, TRAFALGAR and BRISTOL DIAMOND all are course scratching. ROSES FOR ME had sustained bruised off hind cannon. TRAFALGAR had sustained injury near fore whilst BRISTOL DIAMOND had sustained sole bruised off fore. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
RACE 9 (R0212) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400m (sc)
PURPLE RAIN, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised near fore fetlock will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
YULONG DREAM which was down 17kg in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
RACE 10 (R0213) CLASS 4 (A) – 1400m (sc)
SILENT BOSS, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised both fore fetlocks, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

GENERAL REPORT – PRTC
Trainer S Hamilton was fined RM500/- under PRTC Official Programme Clause 3.09 for scratching MODRIC (H206) without an official veterinary certificate.
RESUMPTION OF THE APPEAL BY APPRENTICE JOCKEY Z SYAFIFIE [MUHAMMAD SYAFIFIE BIN MOHD ZAILUDDIN] AGAINST THE ONE (1) YEAR DISQUALIFICATION IMPOSED BY THE PANEL OF STEWARDS UNDER MRA RULE 44(8) AS READ WITH MRA RULE 44(8) (a) IN CONNECTION WITH HIS RIDING AND HANDLING OF “JAKAMA PEGASUS” IN RACE 7 (R1172) – CLASS 5(B) – 1300M (LC) – SUNDAY, 29th OCTOBER 2023 – PERAK TURF CLUB OCTOBER MEETING 2023.
The Appellate Panel of Stewards resumed the hearing of the above appeal today, Sunday, 25th February 2024.
After hearing the submissions of Apprentice Jockey Z Syafifie and his master Trainer K Coetzee and the Chief Stipendiary Steward, and after due consideration, the Appellate Board, acting in terms of their powers under MRA Rule 168(1)(c), decided to substitute the original charge and finding of a contravention of MRA Rule 44(8) as read with MRA Rule 44(8)(a), which carried a mandatory one year disqualification imposed by the Inquiry Panel, to a contravention of MRA Rule 44(10).
Apprentice Jockey Z Syafifie was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months, backdated to 4th November 2023 and to expire on 3rd March 2024 (both dates inclusive). In addition, he was fined the sum of RM10,000/- (Malaysian Ringgit Ten Thousand Only) and his deposit is refunded.
