At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey SU Lim, the rider of ANDADO, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding ANDADO in this race, he failed to ensure he did not cause interference to PACIFIC GLORY, FANTASTIC, MAGIC HERO and GOLDEN CUP at approximately the 1200M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey SU Lim’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 29 January 2024 and to expire on 4 February 2024, both dates inclusive. He was also fined RM1,500/- and advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 3 (R0103) CLASS 4 B – 1275M (Track II)

The start of this race was reviewed by the Stewards pertaining to HAPPY BIRTHDAY drawn in stall number 3. It was established that HAPPY BIRTHDAY had lost its footing after the start had been effected. This resulted in this mare losing significant ground at the start. It was determined that any distance lost by HAPPY BIRTHDAY was as a consequence of its own behavior, therefore it was deemed a Starter for this race.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey KC Tham, the rider of MIGHT IS RIGHT, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding MIGHT IS RIGHT in this race, he failed to ensure he did not cause interference to SUPREME JUSTICE (SU Lim) at approximately the 1500M mark.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey KC Tham’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 12 February 2024 and to expire on 17 February 2024, both dates inclusive, to be served consecutively with any other penalty. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

This race was rescheduled to start at 3:20pm.

The Stewards, on Sunday, 28 January 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of FAMOUS NAME and took evidence from Jockey R Shafiq, the rider of FAMOUS NAME.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action.

RACE 8 (R0075) CLASS 5 A – 1600M (LC A), CLASS 4 B – 1100M (SC A), SATURDAY, 20 JANUARY 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB JANUARY MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 28 January 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of SUCCESS STREET and took evidence from Jockey R Shafiq, the rider of SUCCESS STREET.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action.

RACE 5 (R0072) CLASS 4 A – 1100M (SC A), SATURDAY, 20 JANUARY 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB JANUARY MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 28 January 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of IRONCLAD and took evidence from Jockey L De Souza, the rider of IRONCLAD.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action.

RACE 7 (R0083) SUPREME A – 1100M (SC A), SUNDAY, 21 JANUARY 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB JANUARY MEETING 2024

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Sunday, 28 February 2024 at SLTC, Jockey KC Tham, the rider of DABBLE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding DABBLE in this race, he failed to ensure he did not cause interference to VIOLET at approximately the 1000M mark.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey KC Tham’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 29 January 2024 and to expire on 11 February 2024, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

TUESDAY, 23 JANUARY 2024, SLTC TRACKWORK

Trainer Sharee Hamilton was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for presenting COSMIC SANDS for slow work on grass track which was designated for fast work on the above date.
